GLENNA F. KALLMYER
VALE SUMMIT - Glenna Frances Kallmyer, 83, of 16901 Montel Road, SW, Frostburg, died Friday, June 5, 1998, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 15, 1915, in Hoffman, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Elizabeth (Sleeman) Brode. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H. Kallmyer, on Feb. 7, 1995; four brothers; and three sisters.

Mrs. Kallmyer was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg, and was a charter member of the Clarysville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are two sons, Raymond F. Kallmyer and wife Mona, Midlothian, and Glenn L. Kallmyer and wife Gail, Frederick; one brother, Phillip Brode and wife Hattie Jean, Hoffman; two granddaughters, Betsy (Kallmyer) Nelson and husband Aaron, and Erin Kallmyer; one grandson, Ted Kallmyer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Clarysville Volunteer Fire Department will hold a memorial service at the funeral home Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Byrnes as celebrant.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Paul Brode, Aaron Nelson, Ted Kallmyer, Charles Kallmyer, Norman Clise and Mike Brode.

AUDREY J. JONES
CUMBERLAND - Audrey Jacqueline Jones, Hazen Road, Cumberland, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur P. Jones, in 1990; and by her parents, Earl and Alverna Hoff. She is survived by one brother, Donald Hoff, Cumberland; and several cousins. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Jones retired from C&P; Telephone Company, Cumberland, in 1980 as chief operator after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers, and served as the local chapter President.

At her wishes, her remains will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, at 10 a.m., at 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, with the Rev. Wayne Turner officiating.

Her remains will be buried at Rocky Gap cemetery.

JOSEPH W. LEASURE
CUMBERLAND - Joseph Walter Leasure, 84, of Lions Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Sheridan Place, Cumberland, died Monday, Nov. 9, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born May 9, 1914, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late John J. and Ada (Giles) Leasure. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane (Matt) Leasure and one brother, Paul Leasure. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Mr. Leasure was retired from P.P.G. Industries. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Catholic War Veterans Post #1712 and the South End Rod and Gun Club.

Surviving are one brother-in-law, Lawrence Matt, Cumberland; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Leasure, Cumberland, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake will be conducted on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Fr. Milton A. Hipsley as celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery. Graveside military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

JOHN R. JONES
WESTERNPORT - John Richard Jones, 77, of 128 Maryland Ave., Westernport, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Dec. 16, 1920, in Piedmont, W.Va., he was the son of the late John R. Jones and Bertha (Wilt) Jones.

Mr. Jones was a bar manager, retired, at the Blackhawk Redmen Club, Westernport. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Westernport. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Victory Post 155 American Legion; Queens Point VFW 6775; and Blackhawk Tribe 131 Improved Order of Redmen.

Surviving are a long-time companion, Anna Rita Hartman; two sisters, Ella Kimble, San Diego, and Mary Emery, Fredericksburg, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

At Mr. Jones' request, his body was cremated.

Memorial services will be conducted at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 1 p.m. with Father James Hannon officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral by the combined veterans organizations.

The cremains will be interred at the Philos cemetery, Westernport.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tri-Towns Rescue Squad.

CALVIN W. 'SHORTY' HINKLE
CUMBERLAND - Calvin W. 'Shorty' Hinkle, 92, formerly of 1026 Kent Ave., Cumberland, died Dec. 29, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Oct. 9, 1906, in Davis, W.Va., he was the son of the late Charles and Josephine Hinkle. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Dillon Hinkle.

Mr. Hinkle was retired from the Potomac Edison Company as a service man. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 117th Engineers in the South Pacific Theater, Philippines and Guadalcanal. He was awarded the Pacific Service Ribbon and the Bronze Star.

He was Protestant by faith. He was a member of A.A.R.P. and Allegheny Power Retirement Association.

Surviving are three sisters, Marie Thomas, Violet Myers and Hilda Hartley, all of Baltimore; two sisters-in-law, Letty Dillon Johnson, Engle Nursing Home, and Sue Dillon Lewis, Mount Savage; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Mortimore of the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing, officiating.

Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park. The Farrady Post 24 American Legion Honor Guard will accord Military Honors at graveside.

Pallbearers will be Thomas W. Lewis Jr., Richard Grandstaff, Raymond Spitznas, John Reidy, Michael Welch, David Moyer and William Moyer, all nephews and great-nephews; and Philip Handley, a longtime friend.

The family request memorials be directed to Georges Creek Regional Library.

JAMES WILLIAM LEAKE
AKRON, Ohio - James William Leake, age 73, a native of Vale Summit, and a resident of Akron for 49 years, died Thursday, April 16, 1998, after a long illness.
Born April 30, 1924, in Vale Summit, he was the son of the late Frank and Lena (Higgins) Leake.

Mr. Leake served with the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from Bridgeport Brass Company of Akron.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Mary Rita (Hughes) Leake; one daughter, Ann Marie Burnham and husband, John; two sisters, Jane Hughes and Catherine Seib, both of Frostburg; one brother, Myles Leake, Inkster, Mich.; four granddaughters, Rebecca, Christina and Beth Ann, all of Ocala, Fla., and Jacquelyn Burnham, Akron.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at noon at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Fr. William Moody as celebrant.

Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Farrady Post #24 American Legion Honor Guard will accord military honors at graveside.

Pallbearers will be Paul Leake, Bernard Leake, Bill Hughes, Leonard Hughes, John Hughes and Regis Mills.
