LUCY H. FISHER
FROSTBURG - Lucy Helker Fisher, 73, of Devlin Manor Nursing Home, Cumberland, formerly of 18708 Fisher View Drive, SW, Frostburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998, at the nursing home.
Born June 18, 1925, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha (Judy) Helker. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Fisher, on Nov. 11, 1997.
Mrs. Fisher was a retired cashier from the former Bachman's Surplus City, LaVale. She was an active member of Grace Memorial Community Church, Seton Drive, Cumberland.
Surviving are a son, Richard Balsley, Holbrook, Ariz.; two stepdaughters, Debbie Fisher, Cumberland, and Tammy Fisher, Frostburg; a sister, Mary Kathleen Helker, Cumberland; a step-granddaughter, Jazlyn Fisher; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mickey Stephens officiating.
Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.
VERNA E. GLOTFELTY
MCHENRY - Verna Elizabeth Glotfelty, 77, of 2448 Hoyes Run Road, McHenry, died Sunday, April 26, 1998, at her residence.
Born Nov. 18, 1920, at Accident, she was a daughter of the late Simon E. and Cora (Knox) Opel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. Glotfelty, July 15, 1987; three brothers, Bernard, James P. and Simon C. Opel; and a sister, Fern Bowser.
Mrs. Glotfelty was a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Larry R. Glotfelty, Friendsville; a daughter, Joyce E. Krause, Hagerstown; two brothers, Blaine E. Opel, Canton, Ohio, Robert E. Opel, Chuigaka, Alaska; three sisters, Mary Brenneman Frye, Bittinger, Melda Georg, Accident, Norma Markley, Chuigaka; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., McHenry, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Larry R. Glotfelty officiating. Interment will be in the Glotfelty Family cemetery, McHenry.
RICHARD L. FISHER
CUMBERLAND - Richard Lee Fisher, 66, of 16206 Baltimore Pike, NE, Cumberland, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 31, 1931, in Barberton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Charles Fisher and the late Jessie (Dermer) Fisher.
Mr. Fisher was a former machine shop instructor at the VoTech Career Center. He was a life member of the Fort Hill Rifle and Pistol Club and the National Rifle Association. He was a member of BPO Elks Lodge 63. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Surviving are a wife, Pearl (Miller) Fisher, Cumberland; a daughter, Debbie Patrick and husband David, LaVale; and a grandson, David Patrick, LaVale.
At Mr. Fisher's request, his body will be cremated at the Cumberland Crematory, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland.
His ashes will be interred at the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap at a later date.
The Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A. 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, is in charge of arrangements.
MARGARET S. JEFFREY
NORTH BRANCH, Mich. - Margaret Shirley (Buckholtz) Jeffrey, 67, of North Branch, died Friday, June 5, 1998, at McLaren Hospice Service, Flint.
Born Sept. 4, 1930, in Lonaconing, Md., she was the daughter of the late John and Myrtle Buckholtz. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Paul D. Jeffrey, in 1980.
Mrs. Jeffrey was a graduate of Central High School, Lonaconing, and was retired from GM Lake Orion Plant in Michigan.
Surviving are one son, Paul D. Jeffrey Jr. and wife Carol, Clarkston; three daughters, Marsha Mangiapane and husband Anthony, Brown City, Robin Lesmeister and husband John, Missouri, and Deborah King, Florida; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, John Buckholtz and wife Pearl, Lonaconing, and Robert Buckholtz and wife Norma, Bloomington, Md.; one sister, Florence "Fuzzy" Johnson and husband John, Barton, Md.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at the Donelson, Johns and Evans Funeral Home, Michigan, on Saturday and Sunday.
Funeral services were held there Monday, June 8, at 11 a.m. by Pastor Robert D. Walters.
Interment was in the Ottawa Park cemetery, Michigan.

JAMES P. FLANIGAN SR.
MIDLAND - James P. Flanigan Sr., 75, of Midland, died Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Aug. 18, 1922, in Mount Savage, he was the son of the late Michael E. and Anna (Brady) Flanigan. He also was preceded in death by three sisters; and two brothers.
Mr. Flanigan was retired from the C&P; Telephone Company and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of American Legion Farrady Post #24, the V.F.W. Old Rail Post #6025, and Telephone Pioneers of America.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia (Haines) Flanigan; two sons, J. Patrick Flanigan Jr. and friend, Debbie Klingler, Fairfax, Va., and Michael E. Flanigan and friend, Karen Dubec, Burke, Va.; three daughters, Jeanne Scaletta and husband, Tim, LaVale, sister Suanne Flanigan, S.S.N.D., Annapolis, and Jennifer A. Flanigan and friend, Bruce Shaffer, at home; one stepson, D. Paul Keifer and wife, Lois, Midland; three grandsons, Patrick and Shane Flanigan, and Paul H. Keifer; four granddaughters, Melissa Blubaugh and husband, Jim, Nicole and Timi Scaletta, and Kristina L. Keifer; three brothers, Michael E. Flanigan, Mount Savage, John F. Flanigan, Leesburg, Fla., Edward P. Flanigan, Frostburg; and step-mother-in-law, Eleanor (Keedy) Haines, Frostburg.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 West Main St., Frostburg, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul A. Byrnes officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Farrady Post #24 and the V.F.W. Old Rail Post #6025.

JULIE A. GOLDSWORTHY
RAWLINGS - Julie Ann Goldsworthy, 50, beloved wife, daughter and mother, of 20808 McMullen Highway, S.W., Rawlings, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, at the residence of her parents.
Born on June 30, 1948, at Cumberland, Md., she was a daughter of Leroy E. and Clara Marie (Crowe) Iser of 23007 McMullen Highway S.W., Rawlings.
Mrs. Goldsworthy was formerly employed at the Keyser Dairy Queen, Uncle Lou's Restaurant in LaVale, the Bel Air Elementary School Cafeteria and more recently at the Keyser Wal-Mart. She was an active member of the Dawson United Methodist Church where she had served as President of the Women's Fellowship and on many different committees. She was a 1966 graduate of the former Bruce High School and was a member of the Rawlings Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Terry P. Goldsworthy; one son, Richard Lee Goldsworthy and wife, Carrie, Carpendale, W.Va.; two brothers, James Leroy Iser and wife, Thelma, Rawlings, Jerry Wayne Iser and wife, Judi, Cumberland; one grandson, Matthew Goldsworthy. She is also survived by a host of special friends, which include the home hospice and health care workers and members of the Rawlings Volunteer Fire Department.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John F. Footen officiating.
Interment will be in the Waxler cemetery, Rawlings.
The Rawlings Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Thursday at 6:45 p.m.
INA KEISTER
BOONSBORO - Ina Keister, 85, of Reeders Nursing Home, Boonsboro, died Dec. 2, 1998, at the nursing home.
She was born Feb. 23, 1913, in Cumberland. She is the beloved sister-in-law of Alonzo Plummer of Cumberland and Clara Keister of Bladensburg. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Saturday from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Richard H. Jewell officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland.
