MYRTLE BELLE NELSON
GLEN BURNIE - Myrtle Belle Nelson, 72, of 7742 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Glen Burnie, Md., died Sunday, March 29, 1998, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 26, 1925, at Dry Fork, W.Va., near Harman, W.Va., a daughter of the late Charles D. and Laura "Imes" Judy.

She was a homemaker, and was a Methodist by faith. On Dec. 23, 1955, she was wed to Lossee J. Nelson, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Diane M. Nelson, Donna J. Novack and Judy L. Nelson, all of Glen Burnie; two sisters, Nora Grace Judy, Paw Paw, W.Va., and Anna Marie Shrout, Winchester, Va.; one grandson, Brandon Nelson, also survives.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m., April 1, 1998, at the Fraley-Kimble Funeral Home, Paw Paw, W.Va., with the Rev. Nancy Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Woodrow cemetery. The family received friends at the Fraley-Kimble Funeral Home on Tuesday.

JOHN D. "JACK" NEVILLE
LAVALE - John David "Jack" Neville, 76, of LaVale, formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Aug. 27, 1921, in Donora, Pa., he was the son of late Joseph and Rose (Burke) Neville Shaw. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia "Ginny" Neville; and a brother, R. Earl Neville.

Mr. Neville was retired as a manager after working 37 years with Sherwin-Williams paint stores. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II; member of American Legion; and recipient of the Purple Heart.

Surviving are his wife, Betty J. (Schrock) Neville; two brothers, Joseph Neville and wife Ann, Struthers, Ohio, and Eugene Neville, Poolesville; and 18 nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Cresaptown, on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Father Reginald Russo as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale. Military rites will be accorded at graveside by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be Harold "Bud" Schrock, Jack Lloyd, Earl Wilson, Robert Bender, Charles Pennington and Raymond "Buck" Gephart.

SHARON K. "SIS" NEWPORT
OAKLAND - Sharon K. "Sis" Newport, age 50, Oakland, passed away Monday, Aug. 17, 1998, at her residence.
Born April 12, 1948, in Kitzmiller, she was a daughter of Kathleen (Shillingburg) Lucas and the late William T. Lucas. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy L. Lucas.

She is survived by one son, Billy Didawick and wife, Kim, Mount Storm, W.Va.; two daughters, Ann Newport and Bill, Terra Alta, W.Va., Linda Jones and husband Michael, Hartmansville, W.Va.; four brothers, Bob Lucas and wife, Millie, Kitzmiller, Buck Lucas and wife, Marcy, Kitzmiller, Gary Lucas and Marlene of New Creek, Kenny Lucas, Mountain Lake Park; two sisters, Maxine Elburn and husband, Bob, Oakland, Peggy Davidson and Buff, Oakland; six grandchildren, Monica and Miranda Didawick, Heather and J.R. Ford and Michael Jr. and Brandon Jones; one niece, Sharon Kaye Lucas, Kitzmiller; four nephews, Willy, Blaine, W.Va., Aaron Lucas, Kitzmiller, Robbie Elburn, and Dan Davidson, Oakland.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the House of Prayer with the Rev. Leslie Hipp officiating.

Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery, Elk Garden.

Memorials may be sent to the Hospice of Garrett County.

ROY H. "BALDY" NICELY
MORANTOWN - Roy H. "Baldy" Nicely Jr., 73, of Morantown, died Wednesday, March 31, 1998, at his home.
Born Aug. 28, 1924, in Clifton Fords, Va., he was a son of the late Roy H. Nicely Sr. and Ruth (Montgomery) Nicely.

Mr. Nicely was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a baker.

Surviving are four sons, Mike Nicely and wife Evelyn, Washington, D.C., Dennie Nicely and wife Melisa, Ellicott City, Ricky Nicely and wife Diana, Gaithersburg, and Steven Nicely, North Beach; four daughters, Martha "Pooh" Nicely, Betty "Doc," and Beverly Nicely, all of Frostburg, and Vicky Nicely and "Lurch" Shepherd, Mount Savage; Mother of the children, Bettie; two brothers, twin Freddie Nicely, Clifton Fords, and Frankie Dee Nicely, Washington, D.C.; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation.

Services and interment will be conducted by Chaplain Charles Griffith, Chaplain of the Combined Veterans Honor Guard, at the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap on Monday at 11 a.m. Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

The Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, is in charge of arrangements.

WANETA D. NICHOLAS
CRESAPTOWN - Waneta Dorothy Nicholas, 82, formerly of 13505 Fir Tree Ave., Cresaptown, and residing at Frostburg Village Nursing Home, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Oct. 11, 1915, in Cresaptown, she was the daughter of the late Alden Winters and the late Alice Virginia (Smith) Winters. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Francis H. Nicholas in 1972.

Mrs. Nicholas attended Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, Delbert "Nick" Nicholas and wife, Margaret, Cresaptown; a sister, Carolyn Paulette Urbanowicz and husband, Tom, Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Alvin Winters, Cresaptown; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. Daren L. Ritchey officiating.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.

WILLIAM T. NICHOLS
WESTERNPORT - William Thomas Nichols, 67, of 141 Church St., Westernport, died Friday, July 24, 1998, at Monongalia Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born Jan. 3, 1931, in Westernport, he was the son of Thelma Footen Nichols, Westernport, and the late Carl Nichols. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Nichols; and a stepdaughter, Debra Parsons.

Mr. Nichols was retired from Westvaco, where he worked in the scale house. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, W.Va., and a member of Luke Local #676, U.P.I.U., Victory Post #155 American Legion, Queens Point V.F.W. Post #6775, and Kelly Mansfield Post #52 American Legion.

Surviving are two sisters, Joann Wilson, and nephew Billy, Westernport, and Marlene Athey, Keyser, W.Va.; a son, Steve Nichols; a daughter, Shonnie Snyder, and husband, Jeff; a grandson, Matthew Snyder; and a granddaughter, Shari Snyder, all of Piedmont.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Sunday, July 26, from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Monday, July 27, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 28, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Joseph Jarrett.

Interment will be in Philos cemetery, where full military honors will be conducted at graveside by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

Queen's Point V.F.W. will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Monday evening at 7 p.m.

CALVIN A. NICOL
FROSTBURG - Calvin A. Nicol, 77, of the Frostburg Village Nursing Home, formerly of 17014 Old National Pike, Frostburg, died Feb. 15, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born March 15, 1920, at Lonaconing, he was a son of the late James Andrew Nicol and Dolly (Symons) Nicol.

Mr. Nicol was retired from Kelly-Springfield Tire Co. with 36 years of service. He was a U.S Army veteran serving in World War II and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of American Legion Farrady Post 24, Frostburg.

Surviving are his wife, Ada Marie (Beeman) Nicol, Frostburg; two sons, Leroy Nicol and wife Janet, Mount Savage, and Dale Nicol, Herndon, Va.; one daughter, Joyce Nicol, Miramar, Fla.; three brothers, Hubert Nicol and wife Phyllis, Lonaconing, Jack Nicol and wife Dorothy, Clarkston, Mich., and Elden Nicol and wife Carol, Owings; one sister, Geraldine Watkinson, Westernport; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. H.E. Schaidt officiating.

Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
