JUNE B. RICE
CUMBERLAND - June B. Rice, 70, of Cumberland, died Monday, June 1, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born June 21, 1927, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late William W. Weir and the late Marie Alberta (Hahn) Weir. She also was preceded in death by a son, B. Kevin Rice.

Mrs. Rice was a retired housekeeper at the Finan Center.

Surviving are a son, William M. Rice and wife Deanna, Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Patricia Lee Seeders and husband Jim, Milton, W.Va.; and a granddaughter, Tracey L. Etling and husband Keith, Cleveland, Ohio.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Lewis P. Twigg officiating.

The cremated remains will be interred at Hillcrest Burial Park.

The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

RICHARD H. RICE SR.
CUMBERLAND - Richard Harold Rice Sr., 73, of Potomac Park, Cumberland, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Feb. 9, 1925, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late James Robert Rice Sr. and Mary Genevieve (Moore) Rice. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Robert Rice Jr. and Jack Rice; two sisters, Edna Carscaden and Dorothy Burkhard.

Mr. Rice was retired from Allegany Ballistics Lab after 41 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, and a member of Cumberland American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Lee (Messick) Rice; two daughters, Mary Lee Marrale and husband Michael, Valley Road, Cumberland, Patricia Ann Webb and husband, Larry, Bedford Road, Cumberland; two sons, Richard H. "Sandy" Rice Jr. and wife, Linda, Bedford Road, Cumberland, Timothy Allen Rice and wife, Sandra, Old Furnace Road, Ridgeley, W.Va.; one sister, Rosemary Rice Russell, Harrisburg, Pa.; one brother, Charles "Bud" Rice and wife, Betty, Short Gap, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Richard A. Rice, Michael Marrale Jr., Dena Roy, Christopher Rice, Larry Webb Jr., Carrie Rice, Amber Rice; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake will be conducted on Tuesday at 8:45 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with Fr. Vance Pastorius, O.F.M. Cap. as celebrant.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.

Pallbearers will be Richard A. Rice, Michael Marrale Jr., Christopher Rice, Larry Webb Jr., Charles Rice Jr. and John Rice.

RONALD LEE "HOSE" RICHARDS
FROSTBURG - Ronald Lee "Hose" Richards, 53, of 191 S. Water St., Frostburg, died suddenly on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born April 18, 1944, in Frostburg, he was the son of Maudella (Williams) Richards, of Frostburg, and the late Thomas J. Richards Sr. He also was preceded in death by his wife of 24 years, Sharon Lee Richards, on Nov. 9, 1997; and a daughter, April Ann Richards, in 1974.

Mr. Richards was employed with the City of Frostburg for 27 years as a filtration plant operator. He was a member of the Welsh Memorial Baptist Church, Frostburg. A U.S. Army veteran of Viet Nam, he was a member of Farrady Post 24, American Legion; the Water and Waste Water Operators Association; the Maryland Rural Water Association; and the Big Savage Sportsmen's Club.

Surviving in addition to his mother are one daughter, Leann M. Richards, and one son, Ronald Scott Richards, both of Frostburg; one brother, Thomas J. Richards Jr., Frostburg; mother-in-law and father-in-law, William and Agnes Festerman, Frostburg; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Festerman, Midland, and Linda S. Craze, Alexandria, Va.; one nephew, James R. Craze and wife Cherie, Crofton; and one niece, Aimee L. Craze, Washington, D.C.; and several cousins.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. William G. Boyer Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Mike Griffith, Mike Murray, Tom Reed, Rick Stevenson, Bobby Stevenson and Jim Llewellyn.

BARBARA J. RICHARDSON
CUMBERLAND - Barbara Jeanette (Davis) Richardson, 69, of Cumberland, died Friday, July 17, 1998, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.
Born Oct. 26, 1928, in Keyser, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Mildred (Leake) Davis of Westernport, and the late Bertram James Davis of Keyser, W.Va.

She retired as a Secretary at ABL. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one son, Mike Richardson, Cumberland; one daughter, Carla Richardson, Charleston, S.C.; one brother, James Davis, Tabb, Va.; one granddaughter, Madison Beane, Charleston, S.C.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 2 p.m.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill cemetery.

The family request that memorials be directed to Johns Hopkins Oncology Center, 550 North Broadway St., Suite 801, Baltimore, MD 21205, in memory of Barbara Jeanette Davis Richardson.

JOHN DAVID OSCAR RICHARDSON
LINCOLN PARK, Mich. - John David "Jack" Richardson, 70, of 1270 Electric Ave., Lincoln Park, Mich., formerly of Lonaconing, Md., died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at the Vencara Hospital in Michigan after a long illness.
Born Sept. 10, 1927, in Lonaconing, he was the son of the late Oscar Richardson and Ruth (Clark) Richardson. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Earl Richardson, in May 1993.

Mr. Richardson worked in the trucking industry and was a member of the Merchant Marines during World War II.

Surviving are his wife Dolores (Piszezek) Richardson; one son, John "Jack" Richardson and wife Robin, Detroit; two brothers, Thomas J. Richardson, Lonaconing, and James A. Richardson, Lonaconing; and one sister, Pauline E. Rankin, Westernport.

Visitation will be at the Risko Funeral Home, 7100 Michigan Ave., Detroit, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Graveside services will be conducted at the Woodmere cemetery, Detroit, on Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998, at 10:30 a.m.

MARGERY M. RICHARDSON
EASTON - Margery M. Richardson, 88, of Easton, died Saturday, May 30, 1998, at Marvel Hall, William Hill Manor, Easton.
Born Feb. 23, 1910, in Cumberland, she was the only child of the late Walter James and Mary Spear Muncaster.

After graduating from Allegany High School in Cumberland, she attended the Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, Pa., and Wellsley College, Wellsley, Mass. During World War II she was a radio engineer third class, working at radio stations WTBO and WCUM in Cumberland.

Following the war she was a radio engineer first class and continued to work at WCUM as an engineer and traffic manager until 1955, when she married George F. Hazelwood, a contractor in Cumberland. Mr. Hazelwood died in 1966.

In 1968, she married the Rev. H.M. Richardson, rector of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Cumberland. Later in 1968, Rev. Richardson became rector of the Old Wye Church, Wye Mills, where they lived until his retirement in 1985. The couple then moved to Oxford Road, Easton, where they resided until his death in 1994.

Mrs. Richardson was a member of the American Clan Gregor Society; a Past Regent of the General Perry Benson Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Easton; and member of American Association of University Women, Academy of the Arts, Talbot County Historical Society, The Questers-Lady Caroline Chapter and St. Andrew's Society of the Eastern Shore.

She enjoyed traveling, playing Mah Jong and reading.

Surviving are a stepdaughter, Mrs. William Somerville, Baltimore; three stepsons, Donald A. Richardson, Alvin, Texas, Joel Michael Richardson, Vienna, Va., and Peter G. Richardson, New York, N.Y.; four step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Eucharist will be held at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Cumberland, at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 1998. Graveside services will follow at the Rose Hill cemetery at 11:30 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, All Saints Memorial Fund, 16 Washington St., Cumberland, MD 21502.

The Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, Easton, is handling the arrangements.
