HARRISON B. "BUM" STEWART II
OAKLAND - Harrison B. "Bum" Stewart II, 77, of Arch Street, Oakland, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, at the Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born Jan. 18, 1921, in Vindex, he was the son of the late Harrison B. Stewart I and Sylvia (Shirley) Stewart. He also was preceded in death by one brother, the Rev. Leroy Stewart.
Mr. Stewart attended the Terra Alta Wesleyan Church. For more than 37 years, he was employed by the C&P; Telephone Co.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a life member and past commander of Proctor Kildow Post 71, American Legion, Oakland. He was one of the founders and first coaches of the Oakland Little League, was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel B. (Bittner) Stewart; one daughter, Rebecca A. "Becky" Hamilton, Mountain Lake Park; one son, Harrison B. Stewart III, Oakland; one brother, George S. "Teener" Stewart, Oakland; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Oakland Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Paul officiating.
Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by members of the various veterans organizations in Southern Garrett County.
The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the Southern Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 378, Oakland, MD 21550.
MARY LAURA STEWART
CUMBERLAND - Mary Laura Stewart, 51, of Cumberland, died Monday, June 15, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Sept. 9, 1946, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Nell (Phillips) Carr.
Mrs. Stewart was a former daycare worker for Pied Piper & Humpty Dumpty Schools. She was a member of Centre Street United Methodist Church, a graduate of Delaney Valley High School and attended the University of Maryland.
Surviving are her husband, Charles R. Stewart; one daughter, Samantha J. Stewart, Cumberland; one sister, Kathy Hichew, Baltimore; stepmother, Alice Carr, Baltimore; mother-and father-in-law, Charles and Mary Stewart, Cumberland; two nephews, Chris and Michael Hichew, both of Baltimore; a special aunt, Callie Rice, and husband, Wilbur, Baltimore; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lloyd B. McCanna officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland.

REVA MARION STEWART
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Reva Marion (Amick) Stewart of Springfield, Ohio, formerly of Oldtown, died Feb. 8, 1998, at her home.
Born in Oldtown, on Sept. 19, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Chester L. and Beulah M. (Hartley) Amick.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul "Sonny" Stewart; a son, Craig Stewart; and a sister, Genevieve (Amick) Sampson.
She is survived by a daughter, Paulette Huggie, Utah; a son, Brett D. Stewart, Ohio; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Chester D. Amick, Cumberland; and two sisters, Shirley Ambrose, Florida, and Ramona Tigani, Delaware.
The arrangements are being handled by Conroy Funeral Home, 1660 East High Street, Springfield, Ohio 45505.
RUTH L. STEWART
FROSTBURG - Ruth Lena Stewart, 82, formerly of 46 Wright St., Frostburg, died Thursday, April 16, 1998, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born Dec. 7, 1915, in McKeesport, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Marie (Bostak) Goebel. She also was preceded in death by two husbands, Chalmer Winner and John K. Stewart; one brother, William Goebel; and one sister, Grace Hansel.
Mrs. Stewart was retired from the housekeeping department of Frostburg State University and formerly was employed in the housekeeping department at the Miner's Hospital, Frostburg.
She was a member of the Frostburg United Methodist Church and the Women of the Moose, Lodge 348, Frostburg.
Surviving are one son, Paul R. Winner and wife Ruth, Frostburg; one brother, Paul Goebel, McKeesport; one sister, Helen D'Happart, McKeesport; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George A. Aist officiating.
Interment will be in the German Lutheran cemetery, Frostburg.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Frostburg United Methodist Church, 48 W. Main St., Frostburg, MD 21532.
RONALD D. STIERINGER
CUMBERLAND - Ronald Dale Stieringer, 55, of Cumberland, died Friday, Jan. 30, 1998, at his residence.
Born April 17, 1942, in Bayard, W.Va., he was the son of the late Max and Marvine L. Stieringer. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Stieringer.
Mr. Stieringer was a chef at the Governors Hotel, Harrisburg, Pa. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Cumberland.
Surviving are his wife, Diana Lynn (Wotring) Stieringer; two brothers, Robert Stieringer and Lonnie Stieringer, both of Mount Storm, W.Va.; three sisters, Clistine Rinker, Gormania, W.Va., Carol Jean Durst, Virginia, and Ruth Tinnsman, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Friends will be received at the First Baptist Church, 212 Bedford Street, Cumberland, on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the church on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Reilly officiating.
At Mr. Stieringer's request his remains will be cremated.

MARY C. STIMLER
BAY ST. LOUIS, Ms. - Mary C. Stimler, 82, of Bay St. Louis, formerly of Cumberland, Md., died Monday, Feb. 9, 1998, in Bay St. Louis.
She was born in Cumberland, the daughter of David and Cecelia Feidt Cook. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Robert Stimler; one son, Richard; and a half-brother, William Harden.
Mrs. Stimler was a retired Civilian Personnel Specialist with the Department of Army. She was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Church, a member of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Bowling Association, and she belonged to NARFE and AARP.
Surviving are one son, Robert Stimler, LaMirada, Calif; one daughter, Elizabeth Puffer, Spencerport, N.Y.; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Geary, Cumberland; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Edmond Fahey Funeral Home, Bay St. Louis, Ms., on Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., with a rosary at 8 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, on Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow at the Gulf Coast Memorial cemetery Mausoleum in Bay St. Louis.
