EVELYN A. SIBLEY
CUMBERLAND - On Jan. 5, 1998, Evelyn Alberta (Carter) Sibley went to rest with the Lord. She was born April 6, 1922, in Smithfield, Ohio, to her mother and father, John and Mary (Kirby) Carter.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Paul H. Sibley; her dear sister, Alice Marie Crow, Kent, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Dale Crow, Belair, Ohio; two loving sons, David and wife, Marlene, and Richard and wife, Jean; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly, and in particular, a very special niece, Sandra Neff. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the second floor nursing staff at the Allegany County Nursing Home.
Mrs. Evelyn Sibley lived a life filled with family and love. She was an avid homemaker and a loving mother. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and a former employee of Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. Importantly, she was a devoted wife to her husband, Paul, for 55 years, as of this coming September. The friends she has made through her lifetime recall her friendship as priceless. Evelyn will be painfully missed and lovingly remembered.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Richard H. Jewell officiating. Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
The pallbearers will be Wade Sibley, Michael Sibley, Patrick Sibley, David Cassell, Clarence Sibley and Steven Potts.
JACOB A. "JACK" SIEHLER
CUMBERLAND - Jacob Albert "Jack" Siehler, 89, of 13104 Rocky Gap Road, NE, Cumberland, died Saturday, April 4, 1998, at the home of his son.
Born March 10, 1909, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Jacob A. Siehler II and the late Pauline (Winter) Siehler. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Avis G. (Hast) Siehler, on June 12, 1995; one brother, Frank Siehler; and two sisters, Adele Holloway and Louise Harvey.
Mr. Siehler was retired from the retail furniture business as Siehler Furniture Co. Inc. He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and the Cumberland Lions Club. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are two daughters, Megan Muller and husband Russ, Silver Spring, and Cynthia White and husband Steve, Germantown; two sons, Jan A. Siehler, Cumberland, and C. Lex Siehler and wife Linda, Centerville, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. John F. Sammel officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
MARIE SIGLER
FROSTBURG - Cecelia Marie Sigler, age 59, of 54 Meshach Frost Village, Frostburg, died Sunday, July 26, 1998, at Johns Hopkins University Hospital after suffering a long illness.
Born June 10, 1939, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late David and Ethel (Sweitzer) Leake. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Richard Sigler, in 1971; and one son, John David Sigler, in 1994.
Mrs. Sigler was a homemaker and was a member of the Shaft United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Selina Smith, and husband, Charles, Shaft, Susan Nies, and husband Mark, LaVale, Lisa Rayner, and husband, Dave, Avilton; three sisters, Patricia Leake, Frostburg, Frances Merrill, Shaft, and Mary Leake, Frostburg; three grandchildren, whom she enjoyed spending her time with, Adam Smith, Jared Smith and Jamie Rayner; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lawrence R. Frye officiating.
Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Steve Densmore, Jack Burdock, Adam Smith, Jared Smith, Charles Smith, Mark Nies and Dave Rayner.

EVELYN E. SIGLER
FROSTBURG - Evelyn Elizabeth (Hawkins) Sigler, 80, St. Vincent DePaul Nursing Center, Frostburg, formerly of Woodland Road, S.W., Frostburg, died Oct. 13, 1998, at the nursing center.
Born Sept. 15, 1918, in Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Richard Hawkins and Pearl (Graham) Hawkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John T. Sigler, in 1969; one son, Jack Sigler, in 1971; and one grandson, Jack Sigler.
She was of the Methodist Faith, and was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Shaft Fire Company.
Surviving are two sons, James Sigler and wife, Kathleen, Hagerstown, Charles Sigler and wife, Joan, Hagerstown; one daughter, Betty Burdock and husband, Roger, Finzel; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles Hawkins, Michigan, Forrest Hawkins, Cumberland, Robert Hawkins, Woodland; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Steve Leightner officiating.
Interment will follow at Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg.

GERALDINE M. SIGLER
LONACONING - Geraldine M. Sigler, 81, formerly of 15411 Old Coney cemetery Road, died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, at the Clearview Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born July 29, 1916, in Barton, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Florence (Bittinger) Warnick. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Sigler; and two sisters.
Mrs. Sigler was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, Frostburg. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are one son, Kenneth Sigler and wife, Norma, Hagerstown; one daughter, Sandra Williams, Lonaconing; five sisters, Freda Thomas, Moran Manor, Zelda Orr and husband, Drummond, Greenbelt, Shirley Robertson, Jean Beeman and Joan Darnell, all of Frostburg; one brother, James Warnick and wife, Virginia, Lonaconing; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

FRANCES E. SILBER
OLDTOWN - Frances Elizabeth Silber, 84, of 15901 Bear Hill Road, S.E., Oldtown, died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at her home.
Born July 31, 1913, in Oldtown, she was the daughter of the late Perry Summerfield Hinkle and the late Bessie Mae (Hartley) Hinkle. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William Silber Jr., on Aug. 6, 1997; two brothers, Lester S. Hinkle and Kerman L. Hinkle; and a sister, Elva Mae Brown. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Silber was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church in Oldtown.
Surviving are a niece, Rona Jean Lewis, Oldtown; and four nephews, P. Lanny Hinkle, Westminster, Joe M. Brown, Oldtown, the Rev. James Brown, Hagerstown, and Roger L. Brown, Hagerstown.
Friends will be received at the Bethel Assembly of God Church, Oldtown, on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Oldtown with the Rev. Richard E. Wilson officiating.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial Park.
