MARGUERITE U. TENLY
ABERDEEN - Marguerite Ursula Tenly, 72, of Aberdeen, formerly of Cumberland, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998, at Port Deposit.
She was the daughter of the late Asa and Regina Marie (Billings) Martz.
Mrs. Tenly retired as a registered nurse for Harford Memorial Hospital in the cardiac care unit. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, G. David Tenly; sons, Mark J. Tenly, Churchville, Michael R. Tenly, Aberdeen, and Matthew J. Tenly, Port Deposit; six grandchildren; brothers, John Martz and Edward Martz, both of Cumberland, George Martz, Paramount, Calif., and William Martz, Hermatage, Pa.; and sisters, Anna Lee Taylor and Regina Davis, both of Cumberland.
Viewing will be held at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, P.A., 333 S. Park St., Aberdeen, on Friday, Sept. 11, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m. with Father James Cronin officiating.
Interment will be in Harford Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Culler, Joseph Matthews, Donald Hagermann, Walter Brewer, John Van Gilder and Tom Burns. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Tenly Jr. and Matthew Tenly Jr.
An additional memorial service will be held at a later date.
NELLIE TENNANT
FROSTBURG - Nellie (Hager) Tennant, 101, of Frostburg, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born May 6, 1897, in Borden, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Wilhelmina (Brode) Hager. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James H. Tennant; two sisters; and six brothers.
Mrs. Tennant was a lifelong member of Salem United Church of Christ.
Surviving are one daughter, Nancy T. Robeson and husband, Fred, Frostburg; two grandchildren, Steven J. Robeson and wife, Connie, Cross Junction, Va., and Karen Dulin and husband, Tom, Wilmington, Del.; one great-grandson, Blane Dulin; a close friend and sister-in-law, Edna Hager, Frostburg; two nieces, Beulah Jenkins, Frostburg, and Shirley Miller and husband, Earl, Finzel; three nephews, Carl Hager and wife, Jackie, Borden, Fred Jenkins, Houston, Texas, and George Hager and wife, Margaret, Chapel Hill, N.C.; and a number of great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Friday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Lawrence A. Neumark officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
The family would like well wishers to celebrate Nellie's life in ways they think appropriate.
NAOMI R. TETER
LAUREL - Naomi R.Teter, 89, of Laurel, formerly of Cumberland, died Sunday at Manor Care Nursing Home, Silver Spring.
She was born Feb. 28, 1909, in West Virginia, a daughter of the late Robert Lee Teter and the late Nora White Teter. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lillian James; and two brothers Edgar Teter and Robert Teter.
Mrs. Teter resided 85 years in Cumberland and four years in Laurel. She received her teaching degree from Frostburg State University and did graduate work at the University of Maryland, College Park. She taught at Fort Hill High School, Cumberland, for 35 years.
Mrs. Teter was a member of the Retired Teachers Association of Allegany County, and was a member of Grace Methodist Church, Cumberland.
Surviving are her niece, Christie Lawrence; and grand-niece, Tiffany Teter, both of Laurel.
Funeral services were held at the Fleck Funeral Home, 7601 Sandy Spring Road, Laurel, MD 20707, on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Stanley R. Bice Jr. officiating.
Interment was in the Maryland National Memorial Park, Laurel.

ZOLA L. TETER
WHEATON - Zola Lee Teter, 79, who retired in the 1980s as a train director in charge of track operations at Union Station, died Oct. 5, 1998, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville. He had suffered a stroke in June.
Mr. Teter, who lived in Wheaton, worked for the Washington Terminal Company for 33 years. He was born in Teterton, W.Va., and raised in Pennsylvania and Cumberland, and was the son of the late Robert Lee Teter and Betsy Catherine (Levitt) Teter. He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Lee Teter who died in 1993.
Mr. Teter was a graduate of George Washington University. He served in the Army in Italy during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star in the invasion of Normandy. He also earned a couple of extra medals.
He was a member of Rockville United Church, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Interment was held today in Arlington cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Teter, Wheaton; one daughter, Linda Coffman; two sisters and seven grandchildren.
ZOLA L. TETER
Zola Lee Teter, age 79, a retired train director who worked for the Washington Terminal Company for 33 years, died Oct. 5, 1998, of complications following a June 19th stroke.
He was the son of the late Robert Lee Teter and the late Bessie (Sites) Teter.
Mr. Teter had lived in the Washington area for the past 45 years, and is formerly from Cumberland, Maryland, where he worked as a spinner in the Celanese Plant. Mr. Teter attended Hyndman High School in Pennsylvania.
He served in World War II for four years and was a sergeant and with the Red Bull Division. He was wounded in action in Italy and received the Purple Heart.
Mr. Teter received two degrees from George Washington University where he graduated in 1959.
Mr. Teter is a member of the Rockville United Church.
Survivors include his wife Marjorie, his son Arthur of Olney, Md., and his daughter Linda Kaufman of Damascus, Md. A son, Robert Lee Teter, who died while awaiting a heart transplant, predeceased him in May of 1993. Mr. Teter also is survived by seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and two sisters, Iva Bittner of Corriganville, Md., and Evelyn Frame of Martinsburg, W.Va.
WILMA L. THARP
SHAFT - Wilma L. Tharp, 82, of Shaft, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Nov. 10, 1915, in Gilmore, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Henry and Margaret (McFarland) Lancaster. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Tharp, on Sept. 29, 1991; two sisters, Martha L. Smith, Isabell Waddell; and three brothers, Jack Lancaster, Irvin Lancaster and Daniel Lancaster.
Mrs. Tharp was a homemaker and a member of God's Ark of Safety and Care Group. She was a loving mother and grandmother to all.
Surviving are one son, Daniel E. Tharp and wife, Brenda, Eldersburg; three daughters, Joyce E. Hazard and husband, Norman, Tracy's Landing, Colleen R. Evans and husband, Fred, Shaft, V. Lynn (Tharp) Davis, Frostburg; one brother, William M. Lancaster, Shaft; one sister, Jennie L. Scott, Frostburg; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the God's Ark of Safety, Frostburg, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at God's Ark of Safety on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. J. Richard Greene and the Rev. Everett J. Spence officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made to God's Ark of Safety and Care Group.
Active pallbearers will be John Lancaster, Christopher Lancaster, Kenny Lancaster, Barry Lancaster, Steve Kreger, Jimmy Walker and Stephen Kreger.
Honorary pallbearers will be David John Robertson, Jeffrey Tharp and Jeff Brodbeck.
