KENNETH L. TOOHEY
CRESAPTOWN - Kenneth L. Toohey, 73, of Cresaptown, died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born May 29, 1924, in Boynton, Pa., he was the son of the late Kenneth L. and Orpha (Holler) Toohey. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Regina (Skelley) Toohey, in 1973.
Mr. Toohey was a retired school teacher having taught in Prince Georges County. He was a graduate of Frostburg State University and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Cumberland Moose Lodge 271; American Legion Greenbelt Post 136; and Cresaptown Eagles Aerie 2883.
Surviving are his wife, Jean (Harmison) Toohey; a daughter, Lana Lease, Clearwater, Fla.; a stepson, Michael Skelley, Cresaptown; two stepdaughters, Jerilyn Smith, Romney, W.Va., and Kerry Mowery, West Palm Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mr. Toohey was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow in the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
Pallbearers will be Bill Menges, Luther Metz, James Lough, Stanley Perdew, Dave Richards and John Ternent.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Toohey to the LaVale Library, 815 National Highway, LaVale, MD 21502.
LOU ANN TOWNSEND
CUMBERLAND - Lou Ann Townsend, 42, of Cumberland, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1998, at her home on Maryland Avenue.
Born in Lancaster, Pa., on Jan. 6, 1956, she was the daughter of Mildred Cervino and the late Richard L. Arnold.
Mrs. Townsend was a home health care worker with the Washington County Association for Retarded Citizens in Hagerstown. A graduate of Manor College in New Jersey, she was a member and organization volunteer of "On Our Own" of Allegany County Inc.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her step-father, William Cervino; three sisters; two brothers; and her former husband, Charles T. Townsend.
At Mrs. Townsend's request, her body was cremated, and her cremains were buried next to her father in Lancaster, Pa.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from noon until 1 p.m.
DOROTHY M. TRACY
CUMBERLAND - Dorothy "Dot" Muriel (Nestor) Tracy, 76, of Cumberland, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 22, 1998, at her home.
Born Oct. 28, 1921, in Barbour County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late David and Ora (Horton) Nestor. She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald, Bud, Durbin and Gene Nestor.
Mrs. Tracy was a homemaker and an active member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Bedford Street, where she served as deaconess, elder and president of the women's fellowship. She and her husband, Frank C. Tracy, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 3, 1998.
Mr. and Mrs. Tracy's family consists of Mrs. Tracy's son, Larry Halverson-Tracy and wife Eunice, Falls Church, Va.; and stepchildren Marie Wagoner and husband Orvin, Fort Ashby, W.Va., Frank E. Tracy and wife Beverly, Detroit, and Lester C. Tracy and wife Sherri, Arad, Israel. Also surviving are three brothers, Bernard, Ronald and Russel Nestor; and three sisters, Pauline White and Lillian Stevens, all of Grafton, W.Va., and Mary Stahl and husband Roy, Washington, Pa. She was "Granny" to 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and one special little boy, neighbor David Arnold.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dan Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.

GRACE L. TRAIL
FLINTSTONE - Grace Loretta Trail, 70, of 13510 Glendale Farm Road, Flintstone, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998, at the Lions Manor Nursing Home.
Born Aug. 14, 1927, in Ridgeley, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Harper and the late Edith (Higgs) Harper. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Glen T. Trail, in 1971; a son, Glendon C. Trail, in 1970; and a brother, Howard Joseph Harper.
Surviving are a son, David F. Trail and wife Susan, Flintstone; a daughter, Drenda J. Haines and husband James, Cresaptown; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two step-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Weise, LaVale, Carol J. Fennell, Wilmington, Del., and Ann Robinette, Roanoke, Va.; and a brother, Charles Harper Jr., Timonium.
Friends will be received at the Piney Plains United Methodist Church on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Services will be conducted at the church on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in the Piney Plains cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Cresaptown United Methodist Church or the Lions Manor Nursing Home.

FRANCIS E. "JACK" TRAVIS
CUMBERLAND - Francis E. "Jack" Travis, 73, of Cumberland, died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital Hospice Unit.
Born Oct. 23, 1925, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Walter Travis and Esther (Buskey) Travis. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Travis; and a sister, Betty Fannon.
Mr. Travis was a retired machinist from the B&O; Railroad. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and Submarine Service of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was Catholic by faith. He was a member of Cumberland Eagles #245, B.P.O. Elks #63, and Cumberland Moose #271. He attended Fort Hill High School and graduated from Frostburg Teachers College in 1963, and received his master's degree in Social Work in 1969 from the Catholic University, Washington, D.C.
Surviving are his wife, Eileen (Gaughan) Travis; two sons, John Kenneth Largent and wife, Jacqueline, Barboursville, W.Va., Timothy N. Travis, Cumberland; three sisters, Delores Thorson and husband, Herb, Linda Berke and husband, Stan, all of Spring Hill, Fla., Marlene Luttrell, Cumberland; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Monday at 9 a.m. with the Rev. Milton A. Hipsley officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

RICHARD L. TROUTMAN
CUMBERLAND - Richard Louis Troutman, 71, of 409 Piedmont Ave., Cumberland, died Friday, April 3, 1998, at Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit.
Born Feb. 5, 1927, in Ridgeley, W.Va., he was the son of the late Harry Troutman and the late Rose (Fontaine) Troutman.
Mr. Troutman was a former employee of Schmidt's Blue Ribbon Bakery and the Allegany Liquor Store. He was a Methodist by faith.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda (Ruse) Troutman, Cumberland; two brothers, Kenneth Troutman and wife, Angela, Cumberland, and Charles Troutman and wife, Naomi, Cumberland; and three sisters, Loretta Stickley and husband, Charles, Cumberland, Catherine Klavuhn, Cumberland, and Helen Crabtree and husband, Robert, Penco, Fla.
