LEAH D. DONAHOE
CUMBERLAND - Leah D. Donahoe, 100, of the Cumberland Nursing Home, formerly of Route 5, Cumberland, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 1997, at the nursing home.
Born Aug. 26, 1897, in Chaneysville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George B. Knee and Ida (Bennett) Knee Perdew. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley L. Donahoe Sr., in 1985; and one son, Stanley L. Donahoe Jr.
Mrs. Donahoe and her husband operated Donahoe's Lunch Stand on Red Hill in LaVale for 39 years. She was Methodist by faith.
She is survived by one daughter, Angela Hast, Cumberland; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Leasure-Stein Funeral Home, 230 Baltimore Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from noon to 2 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 2 p.m. with Deacon Loren Mooney officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the charity of one's choice.
MARY E. KNIERIEM
CUMBERLAND - Mary E. Ketzner Knieriem, 81, of Louisiana Avenue, Cumberland, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 14, 1916, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Mabel (Cronin) Ketzner. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Knieriem Sr. in 1993; and one sister, Frances "Frenchie" Brown.
Mrs. Knieriem was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, a member of the Cumberland Women's Sports Club, the Women's Civic Club, and the Maryland Senior Olympics. She was a volunteer at the Western Maryland Office of Tourism, the Interfaith Consortium Food Pantry, and the Western Maryland Reading Center. She was the Cumberland Times-News 1997 Citizen of the Year.
Surviving are two daughters, Suzanne Lamson, Lawrenceville, N.J., and Rebecca A. Kitzmiller and husband William Harold, Dawson; one son, Donald L. Knieriem and wife Eileen, Laurel; one brother, John S. Ketzner, Baltimore; one sister, Carol R. Hatfield, Hagerstown; five grandchildren, Shawn and Jeffrey Lamson, Jason, Bradley and Kendra Knieriem; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Christian wake service will be conducted on Monday at 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Father Thomas R. Bevan as celebrant.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.

FRANKLIN L. CARROLL II
CUMBERLAND - Friends will be received for Franklin L. Carroll II at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
DIANE M. GREEN
CUMBERLAND - Diane Marie (Dailey) Green, 44, of Cumberland, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 1997, at her residence.
Born Aug. 6, 1952, in Bethesda, she was the daughter of Kathleen J. (Lloyd) Dailey Hill, Cumberland, and the late C. William Dailey. She also was preceded in death by one brother, William D. Dailey.
Mrs. Green was a retired librarian for the John Humbird School. She was a 1970 graduate of Fort Hill High School and a 1973 graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She received her degree in Library Science from Frostburg State University. She was a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Centre Street United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her mother, are two sons, William A. "Buddy" Green III and wife Oriel, Fairfax, Va., and Matthew Dailey Green, at home; two daughters, Kathryn A. Green, Cumberland, and Megan E. Green, at home; one granddaughter, Orianna Green; her grandmother, Edna M. Dailey, Cumberland Nursing Home; her stepfather, Dr. Wayne W. Hill; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Adam E. Grim officiating.
Interment will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Park.
WILLIAM W. FIKE, SR.
OAKLAND - William W. Fike Sr., 66, of Fingerboard Road, Oakland, died Tuesday, July 22, 1997, at his residence.
Born May 27, 1931, in Vindex, he was the son of the late Walter G. and Nora F. (Knox) Fike. He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Sadie K. (Paugh) Fike, in 1989.
Mr. Fike retired in 1993 from Wood Products where he worked for 34 years. He also enjoyed woodworking as a hobby.
Surviving are his wife, Martha A. Fike; one daughter, Vivian K. Nazelrod, Reedsville, W.Va.; two stepdaughters, Cynthia Fike, Cumberland, and Lorrie Burns, Loch Lynn; three sons, William W. Fike Jr., Russell E. Fike, and Orlando V. Fike, all of Oakland; two stepsons, Melvin Fike and Tim Fike, both of Serville, Tenn; three sisters, Beulah Beeman, Oakland, Violet Helmick, Gormania, W.Va., and Janet Friend, Oakland; three brothers, Elmer E. Fike, Oakland, Harold L. Fike, Mountain Lake Park, and Dennis H. Fike, Oakland; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, 32 S. Second St., Oakland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Phillips officiating.
Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
DONNA HOUDERSHELDT
OLDTOWN - Donna J. Houdersheldt, 57, of Cresap Mill Road, Oldtown, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997, at her residence.
Born March 7, 1940, she was the daughter of David J. Kerns, Sr., and Margaret V. (Powers) Kerns, Oldtown.
Mrs. Houdersheldt was a homemaker and formerly worked as a custodian at the Cumberland Police Department. She was a member of First Christian Church - Disciples of Christ, and the ladies auxiliary of Clifton B. Sisler Post 9451 VFW.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Houdersheldt, Sr.; one son, Jerry D. Nixon, Jr.; four daughters, Barbara L. Wolfe and husband, Charles, Susan L. Nixon, Jamie L. Nixon, and April D. Dentinger, all of Cumberland; one step-daughter, Cora J. Houdersheldt, Eckhart Mines; two brothers, David J. Kerns, Jr., and wife, Sherry, and Dennis K. Kerns, all of Oldtown; one sister, Linda K. Stafford and husband, John, Cumberland; 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews.
At Mrs. Houdersheldt's request, her body was cremated.
A memorial service will be held at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur Street, Cumberland, on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William H. Bice officiating.
The family has requested that donations take the form of contributions to the American Diabetes Association Maryland Affiliate Inc., 2 Reservoir Court, Baltimore, MD 21226.
MARIE G. HOPKINS
CUMBERLAND - Marie G. Hopkins, 96, of Cumberland, died Saturday, March 8, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born July 31, 1900, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late G. William and Matilda (Heinz) McDermott. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Frank M. Hopkins, in 1978.
Mrs. Hopkins was a 1918 graduate of St. Patrick's High School. She was Catholic by faith.
Survivors include her son, the Rev. Robert F. Hopkins, Cumberland; one brother, George F. McDermott, Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at the George-Upchurch Funeral Home, 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Monday at 8 p.m.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 11, 1997, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Robert F. Hopkins as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
