SADIE C. FAZENBAKER
SWANTON - Sadie Clara Fazenbaker, 83, of 2338 Bittinger Rd., Swanton, formerly of Accident, died Thursday, March 13, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born May 11, 1913, at Friendsville, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Ella (Uphold) VanSickle.
Mrs. Fazenbaker was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and sewing.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Jonas Luranza "Ramsey" Fazenbaker; a son, Blaine Leroy Fazenbaker, Port Tobacco; a daughter, Hazel Ruth O'Brien and husband Wayne, Swanton; three brothers, Perry VanSickle and Joe VanSickle, both of Oakland, and Lloyd Jack VanSickle and half brother Ray VanSickle, both of Friendsville; two sisters, Amanda Lowdermilk, Friendsville, and Katie Eisentrout, Hazelton, W.Va. and Astor, Fla.; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Accident, on Sunday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Roland E. Nairn III officiating.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be directed to St. Paul's Church Building Fund. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
CHARLES E. BROOKLEY
FROSTBURG - Charles Edward Brookley, 65, of Frostburg, died Monday, Feb. 17, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born on March 31, 1931, in LaVale, he was the son of the late Conrad E. and Ethel D. (Timbrook) Brookley. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Eunice Reb.
Mr. Brookley was a graduate of a very close Fort Hill High School class of 1949, a graduate of the University of Maryland in 1953, and an officer in the U.S. Air Force. He served during the Korean conflict. He was an active member of the Nemacolin Chapter of Trout Unlimited. He retired as owner of Thermogage, Inc.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou (Sanner) Brookley; a son, Craig L. Brookley, Frostburg; and a sister, Patricia J. Richards, Carlos.
Friends will be received in the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Daren L. Ritchey officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Burial Park.
Pallbearers will be Joseph W. Metz, Paul J. Murphy Jr., K.C. Keith, Richard C. Karr, Paul W. "Bill" Parsons, and Andrew G. Crowe.
HARRY S. CALAIN
HAGERSTOWN - Harry S. Calain, 69, of Indian Lane, Hagerstown, formerly of Melbourne, Fla., died Friday, Aug. 8, 1997, at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore.
Born May 11, 1928, in Bowden, W.Va., he was the son of the late Elmer and Janette (Tingler) Calain.
Mr. Calain graduated from Elkins High School and of Command and General Staff College. He served in the Korean War and received the purple heart and other service related awards after 30 years of military service with the US Army. He retired from the civil service having served as OSHA safety director for the federal government. Mr. Calain was of the Protestant faith. He was a member of the American Legion Post 42 and Amvets Post 10, both of Hagerstown, VFW Post 1599, Chambersburg, Pa., and Elks Lodge No. 63, Cumberland.
Surviving are his wife Lois L. (Loilu) Martin Calain; two daughters, Sharon L. Hopper, Hammond, Ind., and Beverly D. Dennison, Elkins, W.Va.; one son, Edward H. Calain, Elkins, W.Va.; two step sons, Jeffrey W. Martin, Orlando, Fla., and Todd A. Martin, Libertyville, Ill.; one brother, Fred L. Calain, Bridgeport, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
Memorial services will be conducted at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Pastor Michael Mudge officiating.
Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity of one's choice.

CHARLES M. BROOKS SR.
CUMBERLAND- Charles Mower Brooks Sr., 61, of 12822 Bedford Road NE, Cumberland, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1997, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh. Born July 7, 1935, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Clifton H. and Irene O. (Mower) Brooks. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Brooks.
Mr. Brooks retired from Local 1024, Carpenters Union. He was a member of Potomac Lodge 100 AF&AM; Cumberland Scottish Rite Bodies; Ali Ghan Temple; Hagerstown Shrine; Ali Ghan Motor Corps, of which he was past president; Tall Cedars; Member of Directors Staff; Cumberland Elks Lodge 63; Frostburg Moose Lodge 348; Westernport American Legion Victory Post 155; and Melvin United Methodist Church, where he was instrumental in the building fund. He built the concession stands at Greenway Stadium. He was past president of the Fort Hill Band Parents, and the Parents Association, Inc.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia "Ginny" (Shapley) Brooks; one daughter, Tamela "Tammy" Chucci, Cresaptown; two sons, Charles M. Brooks Jr. and wife Jill, Cumberland Valley, Pa., and Glenn A. Brooks and wife Monica, Cumberland; stepmother, Annie Brooks, Baltimore; six grandchildren, Chad and Logan Brooks, Corey, Michael and Kristin Chucci, and Shelai "Nikki" Clark; three brothers, Clifton, William and Michael Brooks, all of Baltimore; two stepsisters, Janice Burhaus, Baltimore, and Barbara Lawer, Bel Air; a very special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ralph and Marilyn Wratchford, Cumberland; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Among the survivors are a very special uncle, Charles "Tee" Mower.
Funeral services will be at the Melvin United Methodist Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. F. Richard Leslie officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset cemetery.
Pallbearers will be members of the Shrine Motor Corps, Edward Nave, Gary Pyles, Raymond Long, William Bowden, Gilbert Rice, William "Jim" Nave, Ronald Grabenstein, and Richard Walls.
A service will be held by Potomac Lodge 100 AF&AM; at the funeral home on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

JENNIFER A. EVANS
OAKLAND - Jennifer A. Evans, 30, of Overlook Drive, Oakland, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 1997, as a result of a horseback riding accident.
Born Oct. 25, 1966, in Oakland, she was the daughter of Charles P. "Chip" and Mary K. (Schwartz) Evans. She was preceded in death by one sister, Alison Evans, in 1995.
Jennifer attended the Art Institute in Baltimore. She was the former owner of the Art Garret in Oakland. She was an accomplished equestrian rider and an avid lover of animals.
In addition to her parents, surviving are two sisters, Rebecca McClive and Susan Evans, both of Oakland; and one brother, Joseph Evans, Norfolk, Va.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, on Sunday from noon to 2 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Moon officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Garrett County Arts Council.
CHARLOTTE F. BROOKS
LUKE - Charlotte F. Brooks, 83, formerly of Luke, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 1997, at Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport.
Born Jan. 16, 1914, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late Hubert Worgan and Isabella (Nelson) Worgan. She also was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
She was a former member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, W.Va.
She had worked for Westvaco and the U.S. Postal Service, Luke.
Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Isabella N. Villano, Piedmont; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. S.D. Sawyers officiating.
Interment will be in Philos cemetery, Westernport.
