ELIDA E. BABCOCK
HYNDMAN, Pa. - Elida Elizabeth Babcock, 72, of Smith's Home, RD 1, Buffalo Mills, formerly of RD 1, Hyndman, went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 24, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born Dec. 15, 1924, at Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late George A. and Ruth M. (Frukrob) Babcock. She also was preceded in death by a brother, George E. Babcock and a close friend, Lester L. Hosselrode.

Ms. Babcock attended Palo Alto United Methodist Church.

Surviving is a close friend, Vivian L. Webber, RD 1, Hyndman.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Roger A. Johnson officiating.

Interment will be in Porter cemetery near Ellerslie, Md.

MINNIE F. HERBERT
WESTERNPORT - Minnie F. (Dilfer) Herbert, 86, formerly of Maryland Avenue, Westernport, died Feb. 28, 1997, at Marietta, Ga.
Born in Lonaconing on May 22, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Frank Dilfer and Hattie Miller Dilfer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Leo Herbert who died on Jan. 18, 1978.

Mrs. Herbert was a graduate of Central High School, Lonaconing; the Church Home Nursing School, Baltimore and the Potomac Valley Nursing School. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Piedmont and belonged to several of the church's organizations.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Joanne Laird, Atlanta, Ga.; three sons, Mr. James Herbert and wife, Beverley, Lutherville; Francis Herbert and wife, Lin, of San Jose, Calif.; Joseph T. Herbert, Timonium; five grandchildren, Cody Laird III, Dobbs Laird, Nancy Clair Laird, Patrick Herbert and Courtney Herbert and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Trinity United Methodist Church in Piedmont, with the Rev. Joseph Jarrett and the Rev. James Hannon officiating. Interment will be at St. Peter's cemetery, Westernport, following services.

J. MARK BAAR, M.D.
FULTON - J. Mark Baar, M.D., 34, devoted son of John C. Baar and Celeste (Madden) Baar, and loving brother of Lisa B. Baird, died Monday, June 9, 1997, in an automobile accident. Mark was the grandson of the late Rosalia and Raymond Madden, Riehl Avenue, and John Charles Baar, former brewmaster of Old Export Brewery, and Frances Baar.
He was nephew of Patricia and Joseph Kessler, Columbia Avenue; Donald and Katherine Madden, Cash Valley; William and Christine Kirby, LaVale; Steve and Linda Madden, Hagerstown; William and Deborah Lueck, New Jersey; and Theresa Madden, Oregon.

Mark was preceded in death by one uncle, Michael Madden.

Mark was a graduate of St. John's High School, Washington, D.C. He went on to become a board certified psychiatrist, and graduate of Baylor College of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. He served as a major in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps from 1992 to 1996.

Memorial services will be held at Fleck Funeral Home, 7601 Sandy Spring Road, Laurel, Saturday, June 14, 1997, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Donations are being accepted by the Mental Health Association in Howard County, 5865 Robert Oliver Place, Columbia, MD 21045.

Pallbearers will be Lewis Stotler Jr., LeRoy Gross Jr., James Martin, James F. Smith Jr., John Weaver, and Joseph Brown.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to his parents, Dr. John and Celeste Baar, 12496 Hall Shop Road, Fulton, MD 20759.

MARY FRANCES FAHEY
CUMBERLAND - Mary Frances Fahey, 91, of Devlin Manor Nursing Home, Cumberland, died Friday, May 16, 1997, at the nursing home.
Born May 12, 1906, in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Bridget (Carney) Fahey. She also was preceded in death by one sister, Marguerite Fahey; and one brother, Michael Fahey. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Miss Fahey was an assistant office supervisor for the Prudential Life Insurance Co., a graduate of St. Peter's High School, Westernport, and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Church Sodality.

She is survived by several cousins.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. only. There will be a Christian wake service at 2 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Frank Brauer as celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Peter's Catholic cemetery, Westernport.

CHARLES F. CLISE
RAPID CITY, S.D. - Charles Francis Clise, 70, of Rapid City, formerly of Midland, died April 20, 1997, at Rapid City Hospital.
Born in August, 1926, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Algie Clise. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Algie G. Clise and a sister, Virginia Wilt.

Mr. Clise was a retired Army veteran who had served in Europe and the Pacific.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Louis Diaz, Luke.

The body will be cremated and be interred at a later date.

WESTERNPORT - A memorial service for Charles Francis Clise will be held Wednesday, May 21, at 7 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Westernport, with the Rev. Homer L. Beeman officiating.
All friends and relatives are welcome to attend.

MARTHA L. CLISE
MIDLAND - Martha Lee Chappell Clise, 64, of 14207 New Georges Creek Road SW, Frostburg, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Feb. 28, 1933, in Barton, she was the daughter of the late James E. Chappell and Evelyn (Russell) Chappell. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry G. Clise Sr., on Dec. 10, 1986; and a sister, Jean McElvie.

Mrs. Clise was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Midland, a graduate of Barton High School, attended Catherman's Business School, and was formerly employed with Rosenbaum's.

Surviving are a son, Jerry G. Clise Jr., at home; a daughter, Nancy L. Clise, at home; two brothers, James R. Chappell and wife Marien, Calif., and Charles F. Chappell, Barton; three sisters, Shirley L. Clark and husband Leon, Kan., Gilberta M. Bradley and husband William, Barton, and Betty A. Garey, Barton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, Lonaconing, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Grace United Methodist Church, Midland, on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Lawrence Frye and the Rev. John Taugher officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the services.

Interment will be in Laurel Hill cemetery, Moscow Mills.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Weber, Charles Weber, David Bradley, Jeff Bradley, Kevin Garey, and Scott Garey. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Bradley and George Whitaker.

JACOB HARMAN CLICK
MCCOOLE - Jacob Harmon Click, 60, of Chesapeake Avenue, McCoole, died Nov. 2, 1997, at Lions Manor Nursing Home, Cumberland.
Born at Lonaconing on Aug. 11, 1937, he was a son of Rose (Kloter) Click, Keyser, W.Va., and the late Jacob H. Click.

He was retired as manager of News in McCoole. He was a life member of Queens Point Post #6775 VFW, McCoole.

Mr. Click is survived by one son, Jacob H. Click, Jr., Cumberland; three sisters, Doris Kokta, Baltimore, Sharon McNeil, Long Island, N.Y., and Barbara Mulligan, Pa.; two grandsons, Zachary and Benjamin; several nieces and nephews; and several aunts.

Friends will be received at Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, Lonaconing, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at Bloomington cemetery with the Rev. Richard Mortimore officiating.
