NINA MAY CLOSE
ELLERSLIE - Nina May Close, 88, of Ellerslie, died Monday, Oct. 27, 1997, at Lions Manor Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 17, 1909, in Hyndman, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Thomas S. and Nellie May Post. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Shelton C. and Thomas Richard Post; and one sister, Phyllis Post White.

Mrs. Close was a home maker. She was associated with Ellerslie United Methodist Church Women's Group, and was a member of Chapter #56 Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Richard L. Close; one sister, Jean Post Estes, Vero Beach, Fla.

At Mrs. Close's request, her body was cremated. There will be no visitation or public funeral service. There will be a private memorial service at a later date.

The Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, is handling the arrangements.

CHARLES C. COFIELD II
CUMBERLAND - Charles "Chuck" Clifford Cofield II, 23, of Cumberland, died Monday, Feb. 17, 1997.
Born March 27, 1973, in Cumberland, he was the son of Charles C. Cofield and Lianne (Jackson) Cofield, Cumberland.

Mr. Cofield was a patrol officer for the city of Cumberland Police Department. He was a graduate of Fort Hill High School Class of 1991, and the Western Maryland Police Academy. He was a member of the Republican Club of Cumberland, and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 90. Chuck was well loved by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandmother, Emma Cofield, Baltimore; two sons, A'Shon Cofield and Jobie Smith, Cumberland; a sister, Tanya Cofield Watkins and husband Jacob, Cumberland; two nephews, Jaden and Jaron Watkins, Cumberland; a niece, Jakela Watkins, Cumberland; two aunts; one uncle; special friends, Shelley Shimko, Denise Carey, Chantee Carey, Steve Sheets, Rich Godlove, and Sean D'Atri, all of Cumberland; and numerous other friends and acquaintances, including those who worked with him at the Cumberland Police Department.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gary Curtis and the Rev. Richard Jewell officiating.

Interment will be in Davis Memorial cemetery.

Pallbearers will be fellow officers of the Cumberland Police Department, Wade Sibley, Scott Saeler, Greg Leake, Shannon Robinson, Brian Lepley, and Anthony Rumgay.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Brian Warner, and Jesse York.

LENA M. COLANGELO
CUMBERLAND - Lena M. (DiNicola) Colangelo, 77, of Cumberland died Monday, Aug. 25, 1997 at the Hospice Unit of Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 6, 1920 in Cumberland and was the daughter of the late Patsy DiNicola and Jeannie (Ferrari) DiNicola.

She also was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Dominick A. Colangelo in 1993; one sister; and four brothers.

Mrs. Colangelo was a Homemaker, a member of St. Patrick's Church, a member of the Sodality of Our Lady of St. Patrick's, AARP, and William Paca Lodge.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Ann Brandt of Ridgeley, W.Va. and Angeline M. Morgan of Ellerslie; three sons, Dominick A. Colangelo of Milford, Ohio, SGM Richard L. Colangelo of Junction City, Kan., Frank L. Colangelo of Cumberland; two sisters, Mary DePollo and Mary Bagatti both of Cumberland; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters-in-law; and one brother-in- law.

Friends will be received at the Leasure-Stein Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be recited at St. Patrick's Church on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas R. Bevan officiating.

Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.

Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.

DOLORES M. COLE
CUMBERLAND - Dolores Marie (Lisanti) Cole, 62, of 208 Seymour St., Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 22, 1997. Mrs. Cole died at her residence.
Born June 10, 1935, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Koelker) Lisanti Thompson and the late Bart Lisanti, Cumberland.

A lifelong resident of Cumberland, Mrs. Cole was a graduate of Fort Hll High School, Class of 1953. She was married to Bernard R. Cole, a loving husband of 44 years.

Mrs. Cole was an avid bowler for many years. She was the recipient of many trophies and honors. Most recently, she bowled with the Musical Ladies and Golden Age League. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, she taught the Semper Fidelis Sunday School Class for the past 11 years. She was a member of the Administrative Board, the Council of Ministries, and the United Methodist Women.

Surviving in addition to her loving husband are three sons, Donald W. Cole and wife Betty, Dover, Del., Bernard R. Cole and wife Jean, Cumberland, and David L. Cole, Eastern Shore; one daughter, Joyce Ann (Cole) Hansford, Cumberland; six grandsons, Donald, Kelly, Clyde, Mark, David and Christopher; and one step-grandson, Joshua.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stan G. Cardwell officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Pallbears will be John Murphy, Don Pullin, Gene Summers, Bill Gero, Jim Kaiser, and Gene Meyers.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy or contributions be directed to the charity of one's choice, the Building Fund of the Christ United Methodist Church, 4th and Race streets, Cumberland, MD 21502; or Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit, 600 Memorial Ave., Cumberland, MD 21502.

DONALD F. COLE
MCCOOLE - Donald Frederick Cole, 80, of 25223 Golden Cross St., McCoole, died Saturday, June 21, 1997, at his residence.
Born on June 20, 1917, in McCoole, he was a son of the late Harry and Rachel Virginia (Clark) Cole. He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline A. (Rowan) Cole on February 10, 1981; and three brothers, Elwood Cole, Edgar Cole and Kenneth Cole.

Mr. Cole was a retired telegraph operator for the B&O; Railroad. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He attended Bruce High School, Westernport. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Keyser, W.Va.

Mr. Cole was a life member of Queens Point Memorial Post No. 6775 VFW, McCoole, having served as post commander for eight years. At the time of his death, he was serving as commander of District 3. He also was a member of Victory Post No. 155 American Legion, Westernport.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred (Sions) Cole; two daughters, Barbara "Bobbie Ann" McClintic, Richmond, Va., and Alma Jean Beard and husband, the Rev. Clyde W. Beard, Wheeling, W.Va.; one stepdaughter, Teresa Sions-Reel and husband Tom, Manassas, Va.; one sister, Autumn B. Cole, Keyser, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Patricia McClintic, Althaus, Tex., Donald C. McClintic, Richmond, Va., Paula Beard Holbert, Fairmont, W.Va., Linda Beard Meeker, Moundsville, W.Va., Keith W. Beard, Fairborn, Ohio, and Eric A. Beard, Morgantown, W.Va.; one stepgrandson, Kevin Preston, Barton, Md.; four nephews; and two nieces.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Sue Culbertson Jarrett officiating.

Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

Military graveside honors will be accorded.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to either the American Cancer Society, Mineral County Chapter, c/o Farmers and Merchants Bank, 87 N. Main Street, Keyser WV 26726, or the Memorial Hospice Home Care, 600 Memorial Ave., Cumberland MD 21502.

JOSEPHINE E. COLEMAN
CUMBERLAND - Josephine Eleanora "Dolly" Coleman, 85, of Cumberland, died Friday, Oct. 17, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Nov. 15, 1911, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph U. and Mary (Brinker) Wempe. She also was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Coleman; and four brothers, Raymond, the Rev. Lawrence, Frederick, and Robert Wempe.

Mrs. Coleman was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the church sodality and the Martha Group. She was also a member of the Secular Order of St. Francis.

Surviving are two sons, Joseph F. Coleman and wife Judith, Fair Play, and Richard M. Coleman and wife Peggy, Altoona, Pa.; one brother, Leo F. Wempe, Cumberland; two sisters, Mary L. Minke and Helen E. Wempe, both of Cumberland; five grandchildren, William S. Coleman and wife Angelica, Security, Colo., J. Daniel Coleman, Elyria, Ohio, John W. Coleman, Cumberland, Joel L. Coleman, Louisville, Ken., and Robert A. Coleman and wife Karen, Alexandria, Va., five great-grandchildren, Danny, Michael, Chris, Michelle, and Matthew.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Christian wake service will be conducted on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Milton A. Hipsley as celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
