PAUL K. COLLINS
CUMBERLAND - Paul K. Collins, 94, of Louisana Ave., Cumberland, died Thursday, March 20, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born April 30, 1902, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Joseph S. Collins and Alice Mae (Myers) Collins. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Regina (Taylor) Collins, who died on March 19, 1981.

Mr. Collins was a retired clerk with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad in Cumberland. He was a member of East Gate Lodge 216, AF & AM; Scottish Rite Bodies of Cumberland; Ali Ghan Shrine Temple; Henry Hart Post 1411 VFW; and Transportation and Communication International Union. He was a Golden Age Eagle with Cumberland Eagles Aerie 245, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was an active member of the Salvation Army.

Mr. Collins was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harold W. Crabtree officiating.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill cemetery. Military graveside services will be accorded by various veterans organizations.

MADELINE V. CONNELLY
CUMBERLAND - Madeline Veronica Connelly, 82, of Allegany County Nursing Home, Cumberland, died Monday, March 31, 1997, at the nursing home.
Born June 17, 1914, in New York, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Alexander Devlin and Mary (Dooley) Devlin. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Joseph Connelly; and one son, Francis "Bud" Connelly.

Mrs. Connelly was a retired employee of Perpetual Help Center. She was a member of the Woodside Senior Center, Woodside, N.Y.; American Legion Auxiliary and the George Meuller Post, Astoria, N.Y.

Surviving are two daughters, Madelyn Wiecks and husband John, Fort Pierce, Fla., Maureen Connelly and husband Anthony LoGiudice, Cumberland; and two grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at the Thomas Quinn and Sons Funeral Home, 34 Broadway, Long Island City, N.Y., on Sunday.

Interment will be in Long Island National cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y.

The Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, is in charge of the arrangements.

MARY CATHERINE CONTI
CUMBERLAND - Mary Catherine Conti, 89, of Gleason Street, Cumberland, formerly of Centerville, Pa., died Monday, Sept. 22, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Oct. 6, 1907, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha (Keech) Gray. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Tub" Conti; and two sisters.

Mrs. Conti was a homemaker and a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Cumberland.

Surviving are one niece, Ruth Gray, Cumberland; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services will be conducted at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with Deacon David A. Conley as celebrant.

There will be visitation one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery, Hyner, Pa.

ANNABELLE P. COOK
FRONT ROYAL, Va. - Annabelle "Annie" Pauline Cook, 67, of Front Royal, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997, at the Prince William Hospital, Manassas.
Born July 23, 1930, in Cresaptown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Henry Arnold Lease and Pearl Lease. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kenneth Cook.

Mrs. Cook was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Front Royal, and a member of the Warren Memorial Hospital Auxiliary with the Lynn Care Center.

Surviving are two sons, Charles E. Cook and Steven R. Cook, both of Front Royal; one daughter, Peggy A. Shockey, Front Royal; one sister, Genevieve Reich, Rockton, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home, 1200 N. Shenandoah Ave., Front Royal, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the First Assembly of God Church on Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Sterling and the Rev. Jimmy Vaught officiating.

Interment will be in Panorama Memorial Gardens, Waterlick.

Pallbearers will be Jeff McDowall, Ronnie Cook, Paul Cook, Michael Lease, Terry Flanagan, and Bill Flanagan.

EDWARD F. COOK
SEVERNA PARK - Edward Francis "Kip" Cook, 41, of Severna Park, formerly a resident of Cumberland, died on Monday, Sept. 1, 1997, at North Arundel Hospital, Glen Burnie, after a three month illness with cancer.
The Vice President of Administrative Affairs at Providence Hospital, Washington, D.C., he was born Jan. 21, 1956, in Shenandoah, Pa. He graduated from Shenandoah Valley High School, earned a BS degree in Health Administration from Pennsylvania State University, and an MBA degree from St. Joseph's University, Philadelphia.

Mr. Cook was a member of the D.C. Hospital Association, the American Hospital Association, and had served on various committees of the Maryland Hospital Association, the Hospital Council of Central Pa., the Hospital Council of Eastern Pa., and was on the Board of Directors of the Good Samaritan Hospital Federal Credit Union. Mr. Cook also volunteered at the Anne Arundel County SPCA. He enjoyed boating, traveling, reading and hiking.

Surviving are his wife, Jennie Breitigan, Severna Park; his mother, Virginia Cook, Shenandoah, Pa.; one sister Kelly Marcavage, Collegeville, Pa.; two brothers, Robert Cook, Shenandoah, Pa., and Stephen Cook, Palmyra, Pa.; nine nieces; three nephews; and his beloved dog, "Tad."

A Memorial Mass will be offered at Annunciation B.V.M. Church, Shenandoah, Pa., on Saturday, Sept. 6, at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society, the Anne Arundel SPCA, 1815 Bay Ridge Ave., Annapolis, MD 21403 or to the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, 1700 Hawk Mountain Road, Kempton, PA 19529.

The Advent Funeral & Cremation Services, Annapolis, is in charge of the arrangements.

RONALD "RON" COOK
FRONT ROYAL, Va. - Ronald "Ron" Leroy Cook, 31, of Front Royal, formerly of Frostburg, died unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 23, 1997, in the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, following an automobile accident.
Ron was born July 5, 1966, in Frostburg, the son of Joyce Simmons Cook, Frostburg, and the late Robert L. Cook.

Surviving besides his mother are his wife, Melissa J. Cook, Front Royal; two sons, Joseph Wilkins Cook and Justin Cook, both at home; two brothers, Robert L. Cook, Winchester, Va., and Paul L. Cook, Front Royal; one sister, Melinda Kay Cook, Frostburg.

Ron graduated in 1984 from Allegany County. He was previously employed with the Shenandoah Valley Moving and Storage Company, Hop's Drywall, and currently employed as a drywall mechanic with Smith Brothers Construction for 10 years. Ron was a devoted and loving husband and father. His greatest joy in life were his wife and children. Ron loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was loved greatly by his family and friends, and his memories will be always cherished.

A funeral service will be held at the Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, at 2 p.m.. with the Rev. Jerry Young and the Rev. John Chick officiating. Interment will be in the Panorama Memorial Gardens at Waterlick, Va.

Active pallbearers will be: Dave Baer, Terry Flannagan, Bill Flannagan, Joey Ralls, Curtis Stewart, and Steven Cook.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.

VIOLET M. COOK
CRESAPTOWN - Violet Marie Cook, 74, of Cresaptown, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1997, at her residence.
Born Jan. 22, 1923, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of the late John and Jennie (Gustafson) Bartlett. She also was preceded in death by her sister, Esther Larson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Cook was a homemaker. She attended Cresaptown United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Archibald F. "Archie" Cook; one daughter, Janet L. Lucas, Olympia, Wash., one sister-in-law, Flora Lease and husband Paul, LaVale; two brothers-in-law, Donald Cook and wife Elizabeth, Midland, and Gerald Cook and wife Catherine, Lonaconing; two grandsons, Zachary and Timothy Lucas; two nephews, Gerald Cook, Lonaconing and Donald Cook, Annapolis.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, Cresaptown, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

The family requests contributions may be made to the Cresaptown United Methodist Church.
