DR. L. MICHAEL GLICK
CARROLLTON, Texas - Dr. L. Michael Glick, 70, of Carrollton, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997, at Brockhaven Nursing Center, Carrollton.
Born March 8, 1927, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late DeSales and Hildegarde (Weisel) Glick.

Dr. Glick was one of the founders of the Braddock Medical Group, where he served as its president until his retirement in 1983. He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany during World War II. He was a 1944 graduate of LaSalle High School and attended Mount St. Mary's College in Emmitsburg, Md. He was a 1954 graduate of the University of Maryland Medical School.

While living in Cumberland, he was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and a member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis. He was a member and former president of the Allegany County Medical Society, and member and former president of the Sacred Heart Hospital medical staff. He also was a member of the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of the State of Maryland.

Surviving are his wife, Dr. Gina (Moran) Glick; two sons, Mark M. Glick and wife Patricia, Dallas, Texas, and Matthew M. Glick and wife Jill, Oklahoma City, Okla.; two daughters, Celeste M. Carroll, Carrollton, and Felicia M. Oberwise and husband Guy, Wheeling, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, Margaret, Caitlin, Ryan, Dylan, and Eric.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Monday at 10 a.m. with Father Vance Pastorius, O.F.M., Cap., as celebrant.

At Dr. Glick's request, he will be cremated and his cremains interred at SS Peter and Paul cemetery.

A Christian wake service will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 9 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Wayne Spiggle, Dr. Victor Mazzocco, Dr. George Breza, Dr. C.J. Vincent, Jack McMullen, and Dr. Giovanni Mastrangelo.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Allegany County Chapter of the American Heart Association.

PAUL B. GLESSNER
FROSTBURG - Paul Brant Glessner, 79, of 100 Honeysuckle Lane, Frostburg Heights Apartments, Frostburg, died Monday, April 28, 1997, at his apartment.
Born Oct. 14, 1917, in Berlin, Pa., he was the son of the late Howard G. Glessner and the late Alice (Brant) Glessner.

Mr. Glessner was a retired truck driver for Crites Transfer Co. He was a member of Local 453 Teamsters Union, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Anna Ruth (Platter) Glessner; a son, P. Kenneth Glessner and wife Mary Catherine, Cresaptown; a daughter, Lois Ann Davis and husband Roy, Santa Ana, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.

Interment will be in Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.

Full military honors will be accorded at the graveside by combined Veterans Honor Guard.

ROBERT F. GERSON
CUMBERLAND - Robert F. Gerson, 88, a local businessman and native of Allegany County, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Born Jan. 25, 1909, in Frostburg, he was the son of Morris and Sarah (Shear) Gerson, first generation Russian immigrants. He was musically inclined as a child and played violin in a Frostburg orchestra which barnstormed throughout Allegany and Garrett Counties, and parts of West Virginia. Mr. Gerson graduated from Beall High School.

He married Katherine Klompus in 1937, and founded American Iron & Metal Company, a business dealing in scrap metals and the sale of used industrial machinery.

Mr. Gerson was an active member of the Cumberland and Frostburg communities. He was a member of the Beth Jacob Congregation, the Cumberland Country Club, and a lifetime member of the Frostburg Elks. He lived in Cumberland and remained active in business until 1989 when, as a result of his wife's ill health, he permanently retired to Palm Beach County, Florida. He remained married to his wife, Katherine, for 55 years until her death in 1992.

Surviving are two children, Sally Marshall and husband Nate, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Allan Gerson and wife Carol, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; one brother, Judge Milton Gerson and wife Jeanne, Cumberland; a sister, Bertha Cohen, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; two grandchildren, Mitchell Levenson and wife Mary Ann, and David Levenson; and two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Ashley Levenson, all of Pittsburgh.

Interment was in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

RUTH E. GLASS
LAVALE - Ruth Estella Glass, 89, of Cash Valley Road, LaVale, died Saturday, April 26, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 11, 1907, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Harry Levi Robison and the late Laura Willard (Deffenbaugh) Robison. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Byard O. Glass, in 1970; and a son, Claude O. Glass, in 1946.

Mrs. Glass was a member of Park Place United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Richard Glass and wife Jean, Corriganville, and Walter C. "Pete" Glass and wife Sheila, LaVale; two daughters, Betty Mathias and husband Leonard, Ridgeley, W.Va., and Laurann Peterson and husband Allard Guy, LaVale; a brother, Richard Robison and wife Dorothy, Silgoy, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Lowell Garland officiating.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren Guy Peterson Jr., Robin Peterson, Terri Peterson, Ryan Peterson, Stephen Long and Leonard Mathias Jr.

MILDRED F. GEPPERT
MELBOURNE BEACH, Fla. - Mildred Fetty Geppert, 84, of 7415 South A1A, No. 401, Melbourne Beach, FL 32951, formerly of Cumberland, Md., died Wednesday, July 9, 1997, at Holmes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne.
She was born May 22, 1913, in Marshville, W.Va.

Mrs. Geppert was a graduate of West Virginia University and was Miss West Virginia in 1933.

She was a member of the Cumberland School Board and the Cumberland Country Club, Cumberland, prior to moving to Florida 15 years ago. She was Presbyterian by faith and a member of Chapel by the Sea, Melbourne. She was an avid golfer.

Surviving are her husband, William H. Geppert, Melbourne Beach; two daughters, Carol Sue Steinour, Vineland, N.J., and Ruth Anne Koenig, Cary, N.C.; one son, William K. Geppert, San Diego, Calif., one brother, Lester Fetty, Tampa; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

There was no visitation.

Services were held at the South Brevard Funeral Home, 1001 South Hickory Street, Melbourne, on Saturday, July 12, 1997, at 2:30 p.m.

The body will be cremated and interment service will be private.

The family requests memorial donations to the Chapel by the Sea, 8240 South A1A, Melbourne, FL 32951.

RICHARD R. GEORG
ACCIDENT - Richard Richter Georg, 62, of 36443 Garrett Highway, Accident, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 1997, at his residence.
Born Nov. 8, 1934, in Accident, he was the son of Raymond Georg, Goodwill Mennonite Home, and the late Margaret (Richter) Georg.

Mr. Georg was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and was a livestock dealer for the Friend's Stockyard, Pennsylvania Livestock and Grantsville Livestock. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Georg also was a member of the Grantsville American Legion Post 214 and of the National Cattlemen's Association.

Surviving in addition to his father are three brothers, Francis J. Georg, Arlington, Va., Edward W. Georg, Nokesville, Va., and Thomas R. Georg, Accident.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Lawrence Goetz officiating. Interment will be in the Zion Church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Floyd Georg, Chad Georg, Bill Friend, Joe Friend, Jim Glotfelty and Dale Frantz.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Northern Garrett County Rescue Squad.
