RAYMOND G. GEORG
GRANTSVILLE - Raymond George Georg, 91, of 210 North Main St., Accident, died Friday, Sept. 5, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Dec. 20, 1905, at Accident, he was a son of the late John Edward and Anna Georg. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Anna (Richter) Georg in 1968; and a son, Richard Georg on Aug. 9, 1997.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Accident.
Surviving are three sons, Francis Georg, Arlington, Va.; Edward Georg, Nokesville, Va., Thomas Georg, Accident; one sister, Lillie Burkhart, Miami, Fla.; two grandchildren, Chad and Tanya Georg; and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Zion Lutheran Church on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Wilfred Karsten officiating.
Interment will be in Zion Church cemetery.

EVELYN F. GEORG
FRIENDSVILLE - Evelyn Fern Georg, 82, of 645 Milt DeWitt Road, Friendsville, died Friday, July 25, 1997, at Maust Personal Care Home, Accident.
Born Dec. 5, 1914, in Accident, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Vesta (Beeghly) Coddington. She also was preceded in death by her husband Arnold Georg.
Mrs. Georg was a homemaker and member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Shirley Sines, Columbus, Ga.; one step daughter, Eleanor Loyd, Jacksonville, Ark.; one step son, Floyd Georg, Accident; three brothers, Leo Coddington, Oakland, Raymond Coddington, Accident, and Donald Coddington, Centerville, Ohio; four sisters, Gladys Savage, McHenry, Helen Keller, Accident, Betty Rittenhouse, Friendsville, and Jean Mettscher, Fort Myers, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wilfred Karsten officiating.
Interment will be in the Addison cemetery, Addison, Pa.

LOIS J. GEATZ
CUMBERLAND - Lois Jane Geatz, 69, of the Cumberland Arms, 10 N. Liberty St., Cumberland, died Tuesday, March 18, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born March 18, 1928, in Chaneysville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Melvin H. Tewell and the late Nora V. (Schwartzwelder) Tewell. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Geatz, in 1993.
Mrs. Geatz was a retired assistant manager of Burton's Mens Store on Baltimore Street. Surviving are her son, Ronald J. Geatz, Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Diane M. Foreman and husband Earl, Stephens City, Va.; a brother, Richard Tewell, Harrisburg, Pa.; two sisters, Geraldine Gettinger, Merom, Ind., and Adreal Koontz, Everett, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Paul Gettinger officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
CARMEN Z. GAUDIO
FROSTBURG - Carmen Z. Gaudio, 87, of Washington Street, Frostburg, died Saturday, July 12, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Dec. 13, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Marietta (Arnone) Zumpano. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Peter D. Gaudio, in 1949.
Mrs. Gaudio was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. She retired from the Prichard Corporation after 23 years as the head bookkeeper and office manager. She was the first female member of the B Club of Beall High School and was the valedictorian of the Beall High School Class of 1927.
Surviving are a daughter, Marietta Sicheri and husband Robert, Frostburg; five sisters, Viola Zumpano, Frostburg, Nancy Bruno, Elsie Pifani, Mary Armillei, and Dodie Reeve, all of Philadelphia; three brothers, Eugene, Michael, and Armand Zumpano, all of Philadelphia; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Frost Mansion Funeral Home, 58 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg, on Monday at 10 a.m. with Father William Moody as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Michael's cemetery.
A prayer service will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 8:30 p.m.
MARY C. GATTENS
BARTON - Mary Catherine Gattens, 77, of Barton, died Saturday, May 3, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born March 23, 1920, in Barton, she was the daughter of the late John Foutz and the late Bessie (Trenum) Foutz. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer "Tug" Gattens, in 1976.
Mrs. Gattens worked for the HRDC serving meals at the Lonaconing Senior Citizens. She was Methodist by faith, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Barton American Legion 189, and a member of Barton Senior Citizens.
Surviving are four sons, Charles Gattens and wife Shirley, Keyser, W.Va., John Gattens, Lonaconing, Richard Gattens and wife Brenda, Barton, and Frederick Gattens and wife Kim, Moscow; three daughters, Sharon "Fuzzy" Wright and husband Bob, Westernport, Cindy O'Haver and husband Steve, Nikep, and Teri Lavin and husband Dwayne, Frostburg; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four brothers, John Foutz, Short Gap, W.Va., Charles Foutz, Lander, Wyo., Robert Foutz, Nikep, and Gene Foutz, Barton; and three sisters, Betty Uhl, Vacaville, Calif., Norma Bittinger, Millersport, Ohio, and Carolyn Winner, Hagerstown.
Friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Boal Chapel on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John Park officiating.
Interment will be in the Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
Memorials may be directed to the Georges Creek Rescue Squad.
ESTHER R. GARTON
ECKHART - Esther R. Garton, 78, Eckhart, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Jan. 5, 1919, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Louisa (Hausrath) Filsinger. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Garton, in 1988.
Mrs. Garton was a member of Frostburg Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are one son, Lawrence Garton and wife, Vicki, Frostburg; three daughters, Carol Mellott and fiance, Bob Nines, Cumberland, Linda Morton and husband, Ronald, Ridgeley, and Mary Ann Cummings and husband, Jim, Frostburg; two stepsons, James Garton, Hagerstown, and Edward Garton, Baltimore; three stepdaughters, Betty Kelso, Charlotte Dixon and Vera Kennedy, all of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. H. Eddie Schaidt officiating.
Interment will be in Eckhart cemetery.
ROBERT G. GARRAUX
WESTERNPORT - Robert G. Garraux, 75, of 241 Wood St., Westernport, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 1997, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.
Born Feb. 13, 1922, in Allison Park, Pa., he was the son of the late Frank and Emma (Seibert) Garraux.
Mr. Garraux was a mechanic by trade having been a former employee of D & H Warehouse, Piedmont, W.Va. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II and was a driver in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a life member of Victory Post No. 155 American Legion, Westernport, and was a member of Tri-Towns Lions Club. He attended Piedmont Presbyterian Church and St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Elaine (Walsh) Garraux; one daughter, Joyce Garraux, Gibsonia, Pa.; four stepdaughters, Trudy Meyers and husband Dean, Reedsport, Ore., Ida Kauffman and husband Raymond, Castro Valley, Calif., Donna Schad and husband Jerry, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Chris Hanley and husband Ron, Murray, Ky.; and eight step-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Father James Hannon officiating.
Interment will be in St. Peter's cemetery, Westernport.
Members of Victory Post No. 155 American Legion will serve as pallbearers.
