MARGARET HUTCHESON
BEL AIR - Margaret (Bowie) Hutcheson, of Bel Air, formerly of Cumberland, died Friday, April 11, 1997.
She was the beloved wife of the late Arch M. Hutcheson; devoted mother of Thomas Hutcheson and Marjorie H. Traband. Also surviving are five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be in the Bel Air U.M. Church on Monday, April 14, at 11:30 a.m.

Friends may call at the church prior to the service, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, on Thursday at 11 a.m.

Those who desire may contribute to the Bel Air U.M. Church Memorial Fund, 21 Linwood Ave., Bel Air, MD 21014.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Howard K. McComas III Funeral Home, Abingdon.

MARY M. HENDERSON
BALTIMORE - Mary M. Schafer Henderson, 78, of Baltimore, died Thursday, April 24, 1997, at Franklin Square Hospital, Baltimore.
Born March 1, 1919, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Frances (Laing) Schaffer. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Henderson.

Mrs. Henderson worked in the housekeeping department of the Veterans Medical Center.

Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis Henderson and Frances Loncala, both of Baltimore; two brothers, Joseph Schaffer and Richard Schaffer, both of Vienna, W.Va.; two sisters, Agnes M. Lueck, Cumberland, and Elrose Phillips, Carpendale, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Amy, Monica, and John; and one great-grandson, Shane.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A rosary service will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Cumberland, on Monday at 11 a.m. with Father Milton A. Hipsley as celebrant.

Interment will be in the Wesley Chapel cemetery, Points, W.Va.

EVELYN M. HENDERSON
MECHANICSVILLE - Evelyn M. Henderson, 89, of Mechanicsville, formerly of Cumberland, and Leisure World at Silver Spring, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 1997, at Physicians Memorial Hospital, La Plata.
Born March 14, 1908, at Garrett, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Humphrey D.T. Lehman and Mary Lucinda (Harden) Lehman. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. "Roy" Henderson, in 1974.

Surviving are a daughter, Joanna M. Gantt, with whom she resided; a son, Lloyd O. Henderson, Lilburn, Ga.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Edith Brant, Cumberland; and a brother, Lloyd Lehman, Cleveland, Ohio.

Mrs. Henderson was a member of the Brethren Church and the Federal Chapter 38, Order of the Eastern Star of the District of Columbia.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, Pa., on Monday from 1 to 2 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ruth S. Kershner officiating.

Interment will be in the Hyndman cemetery.

PATIENCE V. JACKSON
CUMBERLAND - Patience Virginia "Pat" Jackson, 63, of Cumberland, died Sunday, July 20, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born June 24, 1934, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late Russell Geary Uhl and the late Margaret (Drum mond) Uhl. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Jackson; and a sister, Carol Gay Huffman, on Oct. 7, 1995. She was the last member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Jackson was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church; the Secular Order of St. Francis; and the Allegany County Stroke Club. She was employed as a desk clerk at the former Allegany Inn on Baltimore Avenue. She also worked as a waitress at the former Central Quick Lunch and the South Cumberland Club.

Surviving are two sons, Ralph Michael Jackson and wife Oralee, Frostburg, and Charles R. Jackson, Shark River Hills, N.J.; two daughters, Gail Tressler and husband Terry, Garrett, Pa., and Patience Reed, Mount Savage; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a special friend, Robert C. Gumphrey, Cumberland.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Thursday at 9 a.m. with the Rev. Father Vernon Busch as celebrant.

Interment will be in the Mount Savage United Methodist cemetery.

A Christian Wake Service will be conducted on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.

JAMES F. HELLER
PALM BAY, Fla. - James F. Heller, 58, of Palm Bay, formerly of Somerset, Pa., Hyattsville and Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 5, 1997, in Palm Bay.
Born July 27, 1938, in Somerset, Pa., he was the son of the late Melvin F. Heller and Myrtle F. (Foust) Heller.

Mr. Heller graduated from Fort Hill High School. He attended all class reunions and homecoming games. He retired from Potomac Electric Power Company where he worked as a relay tester.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Heller; one daughter, Renee Hoover; one grandson, Justin Hoover, who was the "apple of his eyes"; two brothers, Blaine E. Heller, Colo., Leonard E. Heller, Boonsboro; four sisters, Nellie Mihelcic, Central City, Pa., Elaine Chamberlain, Bedford, Pa., Lenda Priddy and Bertha Davidson, both of Cumberland.

A memorial service will be held at the Cumberland Bible Church, 400 East Third St., Cumberland, on Saturday at 1 p.m.

JANICE C. HEBERLE
CUMBERLAND - Janice Christy Heberle, 83, formerly of 1055 National Highway, LaVale, and The Kensington-Algonquin, Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 27, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born July 25, 1914, in Connellsville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Ira Allen Bittner and the late Adda Agnes (Christy) Bittner. She also was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Surviving are her husband, Ernest Otto Heberle, Cumberland; two brothers, Thomas N. Bittner, Sacramento, Calif., and Ralph E. Bittner, Concord, Calif.; and two sisters, Eunice Quinn and Sybil Lee Johnson, both of Concord, Calif.

There will be no visitation or services scheduled at this time.

Interment will be in Greenmount cemetery, Cumberland.

The Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, is in charge of the arrangements.

ADALINE F. HEBB
CUMBERLAND - Adaline Faye Hebb, 78, of Cumberland, died Friday, April 25, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born November 14, 1918, in Green Spring, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William D. and Fannie Mae (Nelson) Foley. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Encil D. Hebb; three brothers; and two sisters.

Mrs. Hebb was a homemaker. She was a member of Green Spring United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Carolyn F. Hebb, Allegany County Nursing Home; two sisters, Roma M. McDonald, Green Spring, W.Va., and Ruth M. Coffman, Short Gap, W.Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Deborah Shreve officiating.

Interment will be in Forest Glen cemetery, Green Spring, W.Va.

The family requests contributions be made to the Green Spring United Methodist Church.
