WILLIAM P. NIXON
CUMBERLAND - William P. "Tottie" Nixon, 79, of Polk St., Cumberland, died Monday, June 9, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan 25, 1918, in Oldtown, he was the son of the late George M. Nixon and the late Ella R. (Arnold) Nixon. He also was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Mr. Nixon retired from L. Bernstein Furniture Co., Cumberland. He attended the Maryland School for the Deaf, Frederick.
Surviving are two brothers, George H. Nixon, and Franklin J. Nixon and wife Margaret, all of Cumberland; special niece, Faye Burton, and special nephew, Donnie Burton, both of Cumberland; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Tuesday from 7 to 9 and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be at the funeral home Thursday at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial cemetery, Oldtown Road, Cumberland.
BEATRICE A. NOLAN
MOUNT SAVAGE - Beatrice Alice Nolan, 94, of Mount Savage, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 1997, at her residence.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Father Edward S. Hendricks as celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Catholic Church cemetery.
A Christian Wake Service will conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 8:15 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Mount Savage Fire Department, Mount Savage, MD 21545.
Pallbearers will be Carl Mulligan, Dick Walsh, Jim Dickel, Don Rice, Joe Robertson and Jack Williams.
PEARL R. RAVENSCROFT
SUNRISE, Fla. - Pearl R. Ravenscroft, 94, of 3120 NW 84 Ave., Sunrise, formerly of Westernport, Md., died Friday, April 18, 1997, at Florida Medical Center, Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.
Born June 27, 1902, in Barton, Md., she was the daughter of the late John William Rogers and the late Cletus Lillian (Stuart) Rogers. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Norris C. Ravenscroft Sr.; a brother; a sister; two sons, Norris C. Ravenscroft Jr., and Claude Ravenscroft; and a grandson, William Ravenscroft.
Mrs. Ravenscroft was a homemaker. She was of the Methodist faith. She was a member of Bethlehem Chapter 14, Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Graft, Sunrise; two daughters-in-law, Betty Ravenscroft, Swanton, Md., and Helen W. Ravenscroft, Bloomington; a grandson, Mark Ravenscroft, Bloomington; granddaughters, Connie Wilt, Bloomington, Gay Prillaman and husband Tom, Davie, Lynn Asseff and husband David, Sunrise, Lisa Matthews and husband Gary, III, Sunrise, Robin Kahn, Bethesda, Md., and Katie Ravenscroft, Bethesda, Md.; great-grandchildren, Amy Phillips, Stuart, Ross, and Brittany Prillaman, Nicholas and Christopher Asseff; Lauren, Meghan, and Shannon Matthews, Marni, Bill, Kenny, Cody, and Emily Kahn; and great-great-grandchildren, Tisha and David Phillips.
Services will be at Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Jarrett, the Rev. Sumner Sawyer, and the Rev. Harley Deleurere officiating.
Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to services.
Interment will be in Philos cemetery, Westernport.
The Boal Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
BEATRICE A. NOLAN
MOUNT SAVAGE - Beatrice Alice Nolan, 94, of Mount Savage, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 1997, at her residence.
Born May 20, 1902, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Alice (Hiner) Deffenbaugh. She also was preceded in death by her husband, John Nolan, in 1959; son George "Sam" Nolan; four brothers; and one sister.
Mrs. Nolan was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mount Savage, and the Church Sodality.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Alice Windemuth and husband Kenneth, Mount Savage; daughter-in-law, Myra Nolan, Mount Savage; a brother, James Deffenbaugh and wife Hazel, LaVale; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

PAUL A. NOLAN
FROSTBURG - Paul A. "Scotty" Nolan, 51, of 31 Wright St., Frostburg, died Friday, Oct. 24, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born July 10, 1946, in Edinburgh, Scotland, he was the son of the late John Leonard and Elizabeth (Harcus) Nolan. He also was preceded in death by one son, Paul H. Nolan, on June 6, 1996.
He was in the Territorial Army, Scotland. Mr. Nolan was an electrician with IBEW Local 307. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Cumberland, and attended Bethel Holiness Bible Study, Lonaconing.
Surviving are his wife, Janet (Hunter) Nolan; one son, Mark and wife Lucinda, Lonaconing; four grandchildren, Joshua, Kristina, Megan, and Ryan Nolan; two brothers, John Nolan and wife Caroline, Edinburgh, Scotland, and Peter Nolan and wife Mary, Glasgow, Scotland; one sister, Elizabeth Nolan, Huntington, England; his mother-in-law, Annie Hunter, Frostburg; and sister-in-law, Jean Henderson and husband Bob, Montreal, Quebec, Canada; and 11 nieces.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
A vigil service will be held on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Cumberland, on Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Jack Lombardi as celebrant.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Tom Patterson, Dan Sloan, Rick McMillan, Denny Jedlowski, Jack Mullen, and Keith Arnold.

LLOYD NORRIS
CUMBERLAND - Lloyd Norris, 90, of Humbird Street, Cumberland, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997, in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
He was born July 27, 1907, in Cumberland, the son of the late Merm Godfrey and Lillie Catherine (Painter) Norris.
He was predeceased by three wifes, Hazel, Regina, and Kathryn Norris.
Mr. Norris was Methodist by Faith, was retired as a welder from the B&O; Railroad, a World War II Navy Veteran serving as a Chief Petty Officer, and was an active member of the Cumberland Lions Club.
Survivors include a son, Lloyd R. Norris and wife, Cathy, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a daughter, Charlsie Wroten, Winston-Salem, N.C.; a sister, Betty Miller and husband, Wilbur G., Cumberland; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Harold R. McClay, Jr., officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
