JAMES E. SULLIVAN
LAVALE - James E. Sullivan, 77, of LaVale, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 1997, at Devlin Manor Nursing Home, Cumberland.
Born Jan. 6, 1920, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Charles and Virginia M. (Wright) Sullivan.

Mr. Sullivan was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose No. 271, Cumberland, Henry Hart Post No. 1411 VFW, and Fort Cumberland Post No. 13 American Legion, Cumberland. He was a volunteer at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.

Sully, affectionately referred to by his friends, was an outstanding athlete during his youth. The first freshman to play on the Allegany varsity football team, he went on to be selected several times as an end on the All-CVAL Team.
