MARTHA WILSON
ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla.- Martha (Arnold) Wilson, 76, a former resident of Cumberland, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997.
Born June 21, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William Arnold and Lula (Miller) Arnold.

She is survived by her husband Wallace H. Wilson; one daughter, Colleen Lee Wilson; one son, William W. Wilson and wife, Noreen; one grandson, Robby; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of Allegany High School, a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, and a past president of the Church Women's Guild. She also was a past president of the Soroptomist International of Cumberland, and Regional Director for two years to the South Atlantic Region. She helped organize the Venture Club and served as its advisor for several years.

There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be conducted at Palms West Funeral Home, Business Highway, Royal Palm Beach, on Monday at 2 p.m.

MARY A. WILSON
HAGERSTOWN - Mary Alice Wilson, 91, of 1738 Edgewood Hills Circle, Hagerstown, died June 6, 1997, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village, Hagerstown.
Born Jan. 21, 1906, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Hattie Jane (Shimer) Mowry. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Wilson, in 1987; two sisters, Dorothy Mowry and Ethel Sagle; and three brothers, Melvin W. Mowry, Nelson W. Mowry and William A. Mowry.

Mrs. Wilson worked as a registered nurse for 16 years at the Presbyterian Eye and Ear Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa., and later worked in hospitals in Florida, the District of Columbia and California. She was a member of the Hagerstown Seventh Day Adventist Church, and the Cumberland Valley Retirees Association.

Surviving are four brothers, Allen G. Mowry, Guerneville, Calif., George C. Mowry, Smithsburg, Ben F. Mowry, Worthington, Ohio, and Paul E. Mowry, Titusville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Boulevard North, Hagerstown, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tim Roosenberg officiating.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hagerstown Seventh Day Adventist Church, 11507 Robinwood Drive, Hagerstown, MD 21742.

THOMAS O. WILSON
MIDLAND - Thomas O. Wilson of Silver Spring, formerly of Midland, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 1997, at his home. He was the son of the late Leonard D. Wilson and Margaret Ellen Beeman.
Mr. Wilson was retired from the U.S. Army after serving 20 years. He earned many medals and ribbons for serving his country as an outstanding soldier.

Surviving are his wife, Margot Eulert Wilson; one sister, Mary Atkinson, Vale Summit Road, Frostburg; three brothers, Leonard Wilson and Alec Wilson, both of Lonaconing, and Melvin Wilson, Westernport.

Friends will be received at the Collins Funeral Home, Silver Spring, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Arlington National cemetery for a military burial.

WILLIAM G. WILSON
LONACONING - William Gilbert Wilson, 59, of Church Street, Lonaconing died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 1997 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
He was born March 2, 1938 at Lonaconing and was the son of the late Gilbert Wilson and Laura (Miller) Wilson.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie Lee (Blackburn) Wilson; a daughter, Rita Kay Wilson Haines and husband Rick, Lonaconing; a son, Gary William Wilson and wife Joyce Ann, Lonaconing; four grandchildren, Amanda Leigh Wilson, Alyssa Ann Wilson, Leigh Ann Wilson, and Aaron Scott Haines.

Mr. Wilson retired from Westvaco Corporation as a painter after 38 years. He was a graduate of Valley High School with the class of 1956, was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lonaconing, and also had served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of Marshall's Morning Coffee Club, Lonaconing.

Friends will be received at Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Hannon officiating.

Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic cemetery, Lonaconing.

CALVIN HERBERT WILT
CUMBERLAND - Calvin Herbert Wilt, 77, of the Kensington Algonquin, formerly of Pennsylvania Avenue, Cumberland, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born May 21, 1920, in Paw Paw, W.Va., he was the son of the late James and Cledo (McCauley) Wilt. He also was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy May (Berryman) Wilt in July, 1997; one brother; and one sister.

Mr. Wilt was a lieutenant for the City of Cumberland Fire Department for 32 years. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Cumberland V.F.W., Henry Hart Post 1411; the Cumberland American Legion, Post 13; and the 454 Bombardant Group Association. He also bowled with several bowling leagues.

Surviving are one son, Kenneth C. Wilt and wife, Vonda, Boyce, Va.; one daughter, Joyce S. Sine and husband Charles Sine, Jr., Cumberland; four grandchildren, Kenda A. Kober and husband, Mark, Germantown, Kevon D. Wilt Boyce, Summer N. Sine and Starr B. Sine, both of Cumberland; and two great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Kenneth Kober.

Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Avenue, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m. with the Pastor Mark C. Dill officiating.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Graveside military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

DOROTHY M. WILT
CUMBERLAND - Dorothy May Wilt, 73, of the JFK Apartments, formerly of Pennsylvania Avenue, Cumberland, died Wednesday, July 30, 1997, at her apartment.
Born February 24, 1924, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Helen (Brehm) Berryman. She also was preceded in death by one brother, Charles "Pete" Berryman, and one sister, Katherine Shank.

Mrs. Wilt was a homemaker. She was previously employed at Ben Franklin's Department Store on Virginia Avenue. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Calvin Herbert Wilt; one son, Kenneth C. Wilt and wife Vonda, Boyce, Va.; one daughter, Joyce S. Sine and husband Charles Sine Jr., Cumberland; one sister, Mary Morrissey, Cumberland; one sister-in-law, Margaret Berryman; six sister-like cousins, Dottie Brehm, Pauline Cioni, Idella Holler, Freda Lafferty, Connie Ritchey, and Anne Shore; four grandchildren, Kenda A. Kober and husband Mark, Germantown, Kevon D. Wilt, Boyce, Va., Summer N. Sine and Starr B. Sine, both of Cumberland; and two great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Kenneth.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Mark C. Dill officiating.

Pallbearers will be James Brehm, Buck Jones, Mike Morrissey, Mark Kober, Jim Shank and Carlton Shore.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

GARLAND O. WILT
GRANTSVILLE - Garland Oakey Wilt, 53, of 1098 Twin Churches Road, Grantsville, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 1997, at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital, Johnstown, Pa.
Born Sept. 22, 1944, in Bloomington, he was a son of the Edna Mae (Broadwater) Wilt, Grantsville, and the late Ivan Wilt.

Mr. Wilt was a member of the Cornerstone Assembly of God Church, Boynton, Pa. He was employed as a school bus contractor for the Garrett County Board of Education. He was a member of the Maple Leaf Rod and Gun Club and the Tri-State Sportsmen's Club.

In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Jacqueline Leona (Merrill) Wilt; four sons, Garland Oakey Wilt Jr., Ivan J. Wilt and Christopher Joel Wilt, all of Grantsville, and Bernard Matthew Wilt, Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Vivian Elaine Warnick, Dallas, Texas; a brother, Kenneth Edward Wilt, Garrett, Pa.; a stepbrother, George Schurg, Berlin, Pa.; and a granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Warnick, Grantsville.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rodney Murray officiating.

Interment will be in New Germany Methodist cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
