LISA WEIMERT
ATLANTA, Ga. - Lisa Light Weimert, 34, of Atlanta, suffered two cardiac arrests on Sept 27, 1995, and thereafter was subjected to man's inhumanity to man. She died on Feb. 11, 1997, at her mother's home in Cumberland, Md.
Born Sept. 2, 1962, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Grace Light, of Cumberland, and the late Paul E. Light.

Lisa graduated from Bishop Walsh High School in 1979 as a commemorative student. She attended classes at the University of Notre Dame and graduated from St. Mary's College of Notre Dame, Indiana, in 1982 with a BA degree. She also attended law school at the University of Georgia in Athens. She was a member of the National Honor Society at Bishop Walsh and St. Mary's College Honor Society Phi Sigma Tau; member of MENSA; and member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. She was baptized and raised in the Methodist faith. She embraced Catholicism at age 16. Sr. Mary Brendan Conlon is her godmother.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Daniel Weimert, Atlanta; one brother, Steven Light and wife Janet, Cumberland; one niece, Stephanie Light, Cumberland; one nephew, Sean Light, Cumberland; one aunt, Shirley Boden, Cumberland; one uncle, Gerald Groves, Shelbyville, Ky.; and many cousins.

Services were conducted by Fr. Vernon Busch, O.F.M., Cap., at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Feb. 12, 1997. Interment was in St. Mary's cemetery, Cumberland.

Pallbearers were Sean Light, Donald Decker, Ralph Twigg, Maurice Twigg, E.W. Groves Jr. and Jagger Albert.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Memorial Home Hospice Unit, 600 Memorial Ave., Cumberland, MD 21502.

JAMES R. WELLBORN
ACCIDENT - James Richard Wellborn, 70, of 1122 Mitchell Rush Road, Accident, died Friday, April 4, 1997, at his residence.
Born Dec. 26, 1926, in Mule Shoe, Texas, he was a son of the late Carlton B. and Elsa (Thompson) Wellborn. Mr. Wellborn was a retired electronics engineer with SFA, Washington, D.C., and was a farmer. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Frances (James) Wellborn; a son, David C. Wellborn, Wilmington, Del.; two daughters, Katherine Wellborn, Greenbelt, and Amy Wellbnorn Grier, Arlington, Va.; three grandchildren, Kyle, Christina and Mark; and three half sisters in California.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, McHenry, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Roland E. Nairn III officiating.

VINCENT T. WELSH
PERRY HALL - Vincent T. Welsh of Perry Hall, formerly of Westernport, died Wednesday, July 2, 1997.
Mr. Welsh was the son of the late Carl V. Welsh and Thelma (Matthews) Welsh.

Surviving are his beloved wife Lois (Cook) Welsh; one daughter, Jeanine Rites and husband Don; one son, Vincent T. Welsh Jr. and wife Kathy; two granddaughters, Kelsie and Cierra Rites; three brothers, Karl and wife Jetty, William and wife Dessie, and Frank and wife Florence; and one sister, Susan Moler and husband Rich.

Memorial services will be conducted at the Perry Hall United Methodist Church, 9515 Belair Road, Baltimore, on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Perry Hall United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 9515 Belair Road, Baltimore, MD 21236.

ANNA WENGERD
GRANTSVILLE - Anna Custer Wengerd, 87, of 10911 New Germany Road, Grantsville, died Sunday, May 11, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Dec. 24, 1909, at Grantsville, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Beachy) Custer. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Logan E. Wengerd, in 1980; two sisters; seven brothers; and a great-grandson.

Mrs. Wengerd was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, and was a homemaker.

Surviving are three sons, Joseph E. Wengerd, Logan J. Wengerd and Donald E. "Tony" Wengerd, all of Grantsville; a brother, Woodrow W. Custer, Frostburg; a sister, Lena Kellam, Falls Church, Va.; 14 grandchildren, Terry Pugh, Hong Kong, Patricia Fritz, Grantsville, Sandra Hutzel, Salisbury, Pa., Larry Wengerd, Springs, Pa., R.T. Wengerd, Grantsville, Craig Wengerd, Oakland, Gale Ringer, Linda Wengerd and Carol Humberson, all of Grantsville, Marvin Wengerd, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Rhonda Snyder, Jack Wengerd and Paul Wengerd, all of Grantsville, and Jill Holler, Frederick; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at Trinity United Church of Christ on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Raymond Brown officiating.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m.

JULIA S. WERNER
CUMBERLAND - Julia Sarah Werner, 95, of Cumberland, died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at her residence.
Born April 19, 1902, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Mary (Concannon) Walsh. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Francis L. Werner Sr.; four brothers, The Honorable William Walsh, Bishop James E. Walsh, MM, the Rev. John F. Walsh, MM, and William "Nicky" Walsh; and four sisters, Sister Mary Joseph Walsh, SSND, Sister Rosalia Walsh, MHSH, Mary G. Walsh and Margaret E. Walsh.

Mrs. Werner was a registered dietician, and was a dietary instructor at Sacred Heart Hospital. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School, Cumberland, and St. Joseph's College, Emmitsburg. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the church sodality. She was a member of the Light of Christ prayer group, and was involved with the To Be Church Together program at St. Patrick's. She was a member of the Allegany County Homemakers Extension Organization of the University of Maryland; the Secular Order of St. Francis; and a Girl Scout troop leader.

Surviving are two sons, James E. Werner and wife Julie, Laurel, and Francis L. Werner Jr., Cumberland; two daughters, Mary C. Werner, Pensacola, Fla., and Margaret E. Bechie, Chillicothe, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Marisa G. Werner, San Carlo, Ariz., James Werner, Laurel, Mary Werner, Columbia, John Bechie and wife Karen, Judi Park and husband Aaron, Mary Maimone and husband James, and Frances Bechie, all of Chillicothe; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Christian wake service will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday at 8:45 p.m. with her son, Francis L. Werner Jr. officiating.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church Friday at 10 a.m. with Father Frank Brauer as celebrant.

Pallbearers will be George Sneathen, Jimmy Sell, Paul Erich, William Logsdon, James Walsh, and Bill Kunis.

Interment will be in St. Patrick's cemetery.

The family requests that contributions be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

MARGARET M. WERTZ
MOUNT SAVAGE - Margaret Mae Wertz, 86, of Mount Savage, died Saturday, June 21, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Sept. 1, 1910, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late Edward E. and Minnie (Faulkner) Lowery. She also was preceded in death by her husband, William Donald "Mack" Wertz, on June 19, 1976; two brothers, Gilbert and Millard Lowery; and seven sisters, Annabell Lowery, Irene Lowery, Teresa See, Thelma Kennell, Elizabeth Lowery, Effie Lowery and Mary Jo Landis.

Mrs. Wertz formerly worked in the Textile Department, Amcelle Plant, Celanese Corporation of America for 19 years. She was a member of the Mount Savage United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Dora L. "Dot" Brandt and husband Walter, Ellerslie, and Donna M. Witt and husband Herb, Mount Savage Road, Mount Savage; six grandchildren, Donnie Witt, Rob Witt, Judi Burkett, Allison Cardone, Teena Bucy and Lisa Williams; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elsie Hyre, RD 1, Hyndman, Pa., and Pauline Lowery, Ellerslie.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard C. Broome Jr. and the Rev. Rebecca J. Vardiman officiating.

Interment will be in the Cooks Mills cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Burkett, Tim Burkett, Terry Burkett Sr., Colby Bucy, Mike Bucy, Jason Bucy, Roger Williams and Pat Cardone. Honorary pallbearer will be Terry Burkett Jr.

CHRIS E. WESTFALL
WESTERNPORT - Chris E. Westfall, 20, of 235 Clay St., Westernport, died Monday, August 4, 1997, in Westernport.
Born July 10, 1977, in Cumberland, he was the son of Marshall N. Westfall, Barton, and Karen S. (Metz) Westfall, Westernport. He also was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Leslie Metz.

Mr. Westfall worked for Franks Construction Company. He was a 1995 graduate of Westmar High School and the Allegany County Career Center. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving besides his parents are one half brother, Keith Metz, Hagerstown; one sister, Lisa Westfall, Westernport; maternal grandmother, Alice (Wilt) Metz, Westernport; paternal grandparents, Alvin and Millie (Simmons) Westfall, New Creek, W.Va.; a step mother, Tammie Westfall, Barton; three step sisters, Heather Leslie, Samantha Leslie and Nikki Leslie; one step brother, Johnnie Leslie; 12 aunts and uncles; numerous cousin; and a fiancee, Yvonne Radcliffe.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joe Mercer officiating.

Interment will be in the Harris Family cemetery, Burlington, W.Va.

At the family's request his body was cremated.
