Barnes, Lucille E.

Lucille E. Barnes, 68, of Woolford passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at her home. She was born in Cambridge on April 9, 1945 and was a daughter of the late Robert L. and Della Wroten Elzey.

She graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1963. On August 5, 1967 she married Lawrence E. Barnes, Jr., who passed away on November 7, 2001. Mrs. Barnes was employed at Cambridge Yacht Club as a bookkeeper for twenty plus years. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

She is survived by a son Lawrence E. Barnes III and wife Caryn of Easton, two daughters Linda Barnes of Woolford and Laurie Barnes of Woolford, three granddaughters Shelby Marie Barnes, Casey Lynn Barnes and Madelyn Bierley, grandson Braden Barnes, six sisters Sallie Crandell of Baltimore, Katie Crandell of Federalsburg, Doris Marshall of Hudson, Joyce Horseman of Madison, Brenda Willey of East New Market, Peggy Horseman of Madison and a brother Elwood Elzey of Madison and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Barnes is preceded in death by three brothers Johnny Elzey, Robert L. Elzey and Calvin Elzey and three sisters Louise Eskridge, Joanne Elzey and Ruth Lankford.

Pallbearers will be Jason Bierley, Steve Mills, Robert Marshall, Billy Marshall, Eddie Bramble and Barry Smith.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Abe Lankford officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 163, Salisbury, Maryland 21803.

Hagen, Walter Ross

Walter 'Ross' Hagen, age 54, of Bel Air, MD, died Thursday December 13, 2001 at home.

Mr. Hagen was born on July 29, 1947 in Baltimore County, MD. He was a veteran of the US Army.

He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Lynn Hagen of Colora, MD; 1 sister, Carolyn Hickman of Aberdeen, MD; 1 brother, Donald Raymond Hickman of Aberdeen, MD; 2 uncles; 5 aunts; 2 nieces; 2 nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. He resided with his aunt, Hazel Billings in Bel Air, MD.

He is preceded in death by his mother and his stepfather, Edna & Donald Hickman and his grandmother, Lulo Mae Hagen.

Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday December 17, 2001 at R. T. FOARD FUNERAL HOME, 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD with the Rev. Harold Hubble officiating. Friends and family may call Sunday evening from 7 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens, Bel Air, MD.

Woodlin, Alice Marie

Alice Marie Woodlin, of Ridgely, MD, went home to be with the Lord, April 26, 2013, in Memorial Hospital, Easton, MD. She was 66.

Alice was born, April 30, 1946, in Talbot, Maryland to the Late- Franklin & Mattie (Thomas) Wilson. She enjoyed going to church, cooking, watching movies, and watching wrestling.

Mrs. Woodlin had a career as a Registered Nurse, working at various nursing homes in Caroline and Talbot Counties. She most recently retired from the Talbot Hospice, in Easton, Maryland.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Woodlin, III, who passed away in 2008.

She is survived by 4 Sons, Anthony Woodlin, of Midlothian, TX.; William H. Woodlin, IV; of Smyrna; Curtis Woodlin, of Johnstown, PA., and Johnny Woodlin, of Maryland. 2 Brothers James Slaughter, of Easton,MD. and William Slaughter, of Florida; a sister, Janice (Pitts) Delice, of Greenwood; and 3 sisters all in Maryland. 10 Grandchildren & 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 12 noon, Friday, May 3, 2013, in Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming; where family and friends may view 1 hour before.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the funeral home to help with expenses.

Cave, Marjorie M.

Marjorie M. Cave, 82, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at her home. She was born in Woolford on January 6, 1931 and was a daughter of the late John A. and Leila Goslin Fitzhugh.

She attended Cambridge High School. She was married to Henry Donaldson Cave, Sr., who passed away on January 15, 1995. She was employed at Airpax for many years and also worked with Jerol Moore Landscaping. She enjoyed crocheting. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

She is survived by son Kemper Cave and companion Debbie Wheeler of Cambridge, two grandchildren Timothy I. Gore of Cambridge and Ray E. "Buddy" Moore III of Fort Drum, NY, a great granddaughter Georgia-Raye M. Moore of Fort Drum, NY, a twin sister Marian F. Gore of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Cave is preceded in death by a daughter Bonnie Sue Moore, a son Henry Donald Cave, Jr., two sisters Bernice L. Elliott and Aileen Condon, three brothers Leon W. Fitzhugh, Arthur C. Fitzhugh and John F. Fitzhugh, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Bell, Jerol Moore, Jr., Frank Hurley, Ray Moore III, Timmy Gore and Billy Wilson.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at noon at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor Christina Blake officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.

Hughes, Mary Katheryn

Mary Katheryn Hughes, 77, of East New Market passed away on Friday, May 10, 2013 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. She was born in Vienna on February 18, 1936 and was a daughter of the late Addison H. and Beatrice Richardson Murphy.

She attended schools in Vienna. On July 19, 1952, she married Guy A. Hughes, who passed away on December 1, 1995. Mrs. Hughes was employed at Airpax with over 30 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, photography and cooking.

She is survived by a daughter Jacqueline K. Smith of Talbot County, a son Anthony Wayne Hughes (Lori R. Bramble) of Hudson, two granddaughters Jennifer Willey (Chris) and Joni Moore, three great grandchildren Colby Morse, Cody Morse and Cole Willey, three brothers Gene Murphy of Linkwood, Kenneth Murphy of Fruitland and Robert N. “Jim” Murphy of Salisbury, a sister Claribel Edge of East New Market, a companion Ollie Layton of East New Market and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Hughes is preceded in death by two brothers Melvin Murphy and Donald Murphy and a sister Louise Hurley.

A private service will be held at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Hackerman-Patz House, 2401 West Belvedere Ave., Baltimore, MD 21215. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.

Blum, Frances D.

Frances Delores Pritchett-Blum, 66, of Tarpon Springs, FL passed away on Friday, May 10, 2013 at her home. She was born in Cambridge on December 21, 1946 and was a daughter of the late James Orville Pritchett and Mary Keene Sherman.

She graduated from South Dorchester High School class of 1964. Mrs. Blum was a truck driver for LCT for 18 years. She enjoyed cooking, was an avid Elvis Fan and loved spending her time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two children Terri Lewis-McCusker and husband Steve of Tarpon Springs, FL and Craig Gootee of New Port Richey, FL, two grandchildren Samuel Spier and Amber Lewis, an adopted daughter Heather Byrd of Tarpon Springs, FL, an adopted grandson Cory Palo. Besides her parents Mrs. Blum is preceded in death by a brother James Orville Pritchett, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Samuel Spier, Cory Palo, Steve McCusker, Vladamir Zoubenko and Tracy Webb

Family will receive friends on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 12 to 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A in Cambridge. A graveside service will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park with Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. officiating.

Greene, Karen Burton

Karen Burton Greene, 65, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at her home. She was born on June 6, 1947 in Cambridge and was a daughter of the late James Livingston and Geneva Rose Burton.

Karen attended schools in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1965. She had been employed at Jims Drive Inn, Cambridge Dairy Queen for 30 years and most recently she had been self employed at K&K; Kones. Over the years Karen has been a friend and mother to many.

She is survived by two sons William James Greene and fiance'e Jennifer Raymond and daughter Samantha of Cambridge and Michael Anthony Greene and wife Terri Lynn Greene and her daughter Jessica Michelle Trice of Seaford, DE, two grandsons Dustin James Edger and Heath Greene, two brothers James L. Burton, Jr. and Jay Burton both of Cambridge, two sisters Cindy Cheesman and husband Donald of East New Market and Tina Smith and husband Chad of Cambridge and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Karen is preceded in death by a sister Gail Adams.

Pallbearers will be Chad Cheesman, Donnie Cheesman, Ryan Cheesman, Stevie Conn, John Conn and Greg Burton. Honorary pallbearer will be Jay Burton.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Scott Conn officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
