Laird, Ada

ADA MAE LAIRD, 82, of Crisfield, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 9, 2007 from Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield where she had been a resident for several years.

Born in Crisfield on June 17, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Lucious and Mamie Pestridge Lewis.

She was a retired clerk, working 27 years at the former W. T. Grant Company and 11 years at the former Carvel Hall Cutlery. She had been a faithful member of the Crisfield Church of God all her life.

She was a devoted wife, and was great at everything she did in the eyes of her husband.

She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, John William Laird, Jr. of Crisfield; her sister, Myrtle Parkinson of Crisfield; her brother, Lawrence Lewis and his wife Rae of Milford, Delaware; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 12, 2007 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. The Rev. Philip Morris will officiate and will be assisted by Rev. Samuel Horner. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7-9 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield.

Raymond Augustus LaBounty

Salisbury - Raymond Augustus LaBounty, 79, of Salisbury died Friday, September 27, 2002 at VA Maryland Health Care System in Perry Point, MD. Born in Utica, New York, he was the son of the late Augustus and Mary Mahoney LaBounty.

Mr. LaBounty was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp and was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Meuse Post 194 and attended Christ United Methodist Church. He was a loving father and grandfather whose granddaughter said how lucky they were to have someone so hard to say goodbye to.

He is survived by two sons; Howard LaBounty of Salisbury, Michael R. LaBounty of Lake Royale, NC, two daughters; Cynthia L. Reddish of Salisbury and Jacqueline A. Sanok of Port Jervis, NY, eleven grandchildren; Ryan Laing, Heather Bailey, Megan and Lauren Reddish, Zachary, Taylor, Madison, and Kennedy Sanok, Carrie and Stacy Brittingham, and Ashley Andrews, two great-grandchildren; Shania and Wayne Bailey, a very special friend Ruth Ann Andrews, two sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 12PM at Maryland Veterans Cemetery Eastern Shore in Beulah. The Rev. Thomas W. Hurley will officiate. Friends may call Tuesday from 10- 11AM at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803 or to Christ United Methodist Church Building Fund, 211 Philip Morris Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.

LaCombe, John Noel

John Noel LaCombe, 57, of Fredericksburg died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital from complications of a short illness.

Born in Blue River, Canada, Mr. LaCombe worked as a pipe fitter for S.W. Rodgers.

He was a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran and was a member of Meadows Farm Golf Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Sheri LaCombe of Missoula, Mont.; two sons, Greg LaCombe of Bismarck, N.D., and Jamie LaCombe of Fredericksburg; six sisters, Juliette Bishop and Frances Robinson, both of Presque Isle, Maine, Lucy Nelson of Caribou, Maine, Noella LaCombe of Wallingford, Conn., Madeline Coffin of Mars Hill, Maine, and Gilberta Penezzity of Fort Pierce, Fla.; four brothers, Armand LaCombe of Mapleton, Maine, Mike LaCombe of Martha's Vineyard, Mass., Gil LaCombe of New Britain, Conn., and Patrick LaCombe of Presque Isle, Maine; and one granddaughter.

A funeral and burial will be held in Presque Isle, Maine.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Jamie LaCombe Scholarship Fund, c/o Greg Lacombe, 2515 East Ave. C., Bismarck, N.D. 58501.

Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, is handling arrangements.

Lagana, Naomi

GREENSBORO, Naomi Lagana, 84 of Greensboro, died at Wednesday, April 03, 2002 at Blue Heron Assisted Living.

She was born May 14, 1917 in Washington DC, the daughter of the late August Maske and the late Beatrice Maske. She is survived by Courtney Lagana (Sister).

She was preceded in death by her father, August Maske, and her mother, Beatrice.

Ms. Lagana had formerly lived in Hoopers Island.

She had worked as a waitress and also did private sitting with the elderly. She loved to play bingo.

Funeral services will be held April 5, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at Grave side in Greensboro. Burial will be at Greensboro Cemetery on Friday, April 5, 2002.

Paul W. LaBarge

Age 80, of Greensboro, MD, formerly of West Chester, PA and Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 29, 2008.

Born in Pittsfield, MA, Mr. LaBarge was the son of the late Henry and Margaret (Willson) LaBarge. He owned and operated Control Cable, a computer cable company. He was a member at St. Benedict Church in Ridgley, MD. His wife, Nanette (Passier) LaBarge, predeceased him in 2004.

Mr. LaBarge is survived by his sons, Rev. Chris LaBarge, with whom he resided, Ralph LaBarge of Gambrills, MD, and Paul M. LaBarge of Cochransville, PA; his daughters, Marie Shock of Princeton Junction, NJ, Michelle LaBarge of Newark, DE and Renee Lipford of Oxford, PA; 12 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Also surviving are his brother, Ralph T. LaBarge of Florida and a sister, Diane Fairbanks of Virginia.

Friends and family are invited to visitation on Sunday between 7 and 9 PM at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday afternoon at 1 PM at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington. Entombment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mr. LaBarge's name to a favorite charity.

Laird, Denny "Bebop"

DENNY "BEBOP" LAIRD, 49, of Marion Station, died Thursday, September 17, 2009 in Crisfield.

Born in Crisfield on February 7, 1960, he was a son of the late Jackie Howard and Helen Elizabeth Lee Laird.

He was a 1979 graduate of Crisfield High School and a 1989 graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a degree in physical education. He was a member of Eastern Shore Evangelistic Church in Marion Station and he loved sports, especially softball and soccer.

He is survived by two daughters, Heather R. Laird-Rudd and her husband Jason of Mardela and Ashley M. Laird of Marion Station; two grandchildren, Logan M. Rudd and Mason L. Rudd; two brothers, Buck Laird and his wife Marilyn of Crisfield and Billy Laird and his wife Dorothy of Berlin; a sister, Rose Marie Thomas and her husband Mike of Westover; his former wife, Marie "Dinky" Laird of Marion Station; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Howard Laird, Jr.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday evening at 6 PM at Eastern Shore Evangelistic Church in Marion Station where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Jerry Hughes will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family with expenses may be sent to Heather R. Rudd, 9122 Whitetail Drive, Mardela, Maryland 21837.

Arrangements are in the care of Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield.

Kahler, Charles "Buck"

OCEAN CITY - Charles "Buck" Kahler, age 80, died Saturday, February 17, 2007 at his home in Ocean City. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late August and Agnes Kahler of Essex, Md. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Lil in 2005.

Buck was a WWII US Navy Veteran. He was employed as a senor electrical start-up engineer with The Bechtel Power Co., retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church, Delmarva Irish American Club, I.B.E.W. Local #24, AARP, VFW Post 8296 and the American Legion Post 166.

He is survived by his son, Charles "Buck" Kahler Jr. And his wife Linda of San Jose, Calif. And daughter Patricia Fyffe and her husband Jack of Preston, MD; 2 brothers, August and David Kahler both of Baltimore; 2 sisters, Irene Oldelwurtel and her husband Frank, also of Baltimore, and Agnes Mattheu and her husband Frank of Glen Rock, PA.; 6 grandchildren; Jamelen Mahan and her husband Greg, Jason Kahler and his wife Nadia, Jennifer Miley, Jesse, Casey and Sean Fyffe, and 2 great grandchildren, Shianne and Christopher Miley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday 11 am at St. Luke Catholic Church where family will receive friends one hour prior. Rev. Thomas Protack will be the Celebrant. A graveside service will be held Saturday 12 noon at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Buck's honor to Coastal Hospice PO Box 1733 Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are being handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.
