Nabb, James "Jack" E.

James E. "Jack" Nabb, of Forest Hill, Md., formerly of Smyrna, passed away on Wednesday June 21, 2006. He was 92.

He was born in Middletown, the son of the late Edward and Sarah Savin Nabb.

Mr. Nabb was a farmer for many years, and had also worked for Pioneer Seed Co. as a sales representative.

He was a member of the Smyrna Church of Christ. He was an avid baseball fan and had many other interests, including going to the Delaware State Fair, discussing politics, and gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard, Charles, and Fred Nabb, and a sister, Christine Bailey.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth " Betty" Daniels Nabb, of Forest Hill, Md.; three step-children, Arlene Daniels Lehman, of Bel Air, Md.; Bud Daniels, of Darlington, Md.; and Peggy J. McCafferty, of Westminster, Md.; a brother, Harry Nabb, of Townsend; six step-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday June 27 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 10:00 AM.

Interment will be in Townsend Cemetery, Townsend.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Smyrna Church of Christ, PO Box 171, Smyrna, De. 19977.

Arrangements are by Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Smyrna.

Nagel, Doretta M. Noble

Doretta M. Noble Nagel of Federalsburg, MD, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 at William Hill Manor in Easton, MD. She was 86.

She was born April 23, 1918 near Greenwood, DE, the daughter of the late Isaac and Susie Breeding Noble. Her husband, Wilmer Christian Nagel, preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1977.

She was a graduate of Greenwood High School Class of 1936. After graduating from Goldey Business College she worked for various law offices in Denton including attorney, Bruce Dean, and later worked for the Honorable Marvin H. Smith law offices. She also worked for Mayor and Council in Federalsburg for several years. She and her husband owned the Eastern Trailer Repair Co. After retirement she continued working for several years for Sisk Fulfillment in Federalsburg. She attended Christ United Methodist Church since her marriage, and was a former member of the Christian Endeavor and Philathea Circle.

She is survived by a daughter Sue Nagel Banning, and her husband, Gerald, and son, W. Dale Nagel, both of Federalsburg, five grandchildren,

Jerry Banning, Jr., Diana Cohee, Keli Hitchens, Brad Nagel, and Landon Nagel; seven great-grandchildren, Ashlie Cohee, Brent Cohee, Chad Cohee, Jena Banning, Jared Banning, Lauren Hitchens and Hunter Hitchens, and a cousin, Woodrow Passwaters, whom her parents helped to raise.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg with Rev. Dale Evans and Rev. Dan Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery near Federalsburg, MD. Friends may call from 1:00 -2:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to William Hill Manor, Employees Appreciation Fund, c/o Donna Taylor, 501 Dutchman's Lane, Easton, MD 21601 or to the charity of your choice.

Nagel, Ruth C. Fluharty

Ruth C. Fluharty Nagel of Federalsburg, MD, passed from this life to eternal happiness on Friday, Jan. 25, 2002 at Caroline Nursing Home in Denton, Maryland. She was 81.

She was born August 7, 1920 near Preston, MD, the daughter of the late William R. Fluharty and Mary H. Prettyman Fluharty. Her husband, Ralph L. Nagel preceded her in death on August 7, 1986.

She was a Preston High School graduate of the Class of 1939. She attended Banks Business School in Philadelphia, PA. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Federalsburg where she was a member of the Senior Choir, was a superintendent of the children's division of the Sunday School for many years, was a member and past president of Philathea Circle, was a former member of the Administrative Board and she also served in many capacities as a member of Philathea Circle, the United Methodist Women and its predecessor the W.S.C.S. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star # 64.

She is survived by a daughter, Darlene R. Planner and a son, Donald R. Nagel, Sr. both of Federalsburg and three grandchildren, Susan Belanger of Cary, NC, Lisa Nagel of Eden, MD and Donald Ralph Nagel II, of Federalsburg, a brother, William R. Fluharty of Florida and two sisters, Dorothy McLaughlin of Wilmington, DE and Mildred Parrott of Easton, MD and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Virginia Lewis preceded her in death.

Funeral services for her will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday January 28, 2002 at Framptom-Hawkins-Eskow Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg with Rev. Dan Walker and Rev. Glenn Lyburn officiating. Interment will follow in Junior Order Cemetery in Preston, Maryland. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. on Sunday. An Order of the Eastern Star Caroline Chapter #62 service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Alan Planner, Donald Nagel, Donald R. Nagel, II, Dale Nagel, Lisa Nagel and Gerald Banning.

The family has requested that donations in her memory be made to either; the National Parkinson Foundation, Inc. Donations Department c/o Marc Lichtman 1501 NW 9th Avenue Miami, FL 33136-1494, the American Parkinson Disease Association. Inc. 1250 Hylan Blvd Ste.4B Staten Island, NY 10305-1944 or to Christ United Methodist Church, Federalsburg.

Nagel, II, Donald R.

Donald R. Nagel II formerly of Federalsburg and presently residing in Denton died in Preston, Maryland on Sunday, September 26, 2004. He was 21 years old.

He was born on June 11, 1983 in Easton, Maryland the son of Donald Ralph Nagel of Federalsburg and Joan M. Chupek Nagel of Denton.

He was a graduate of Colonel Richardson High School's Class of 2001 and was presently employed as a carpenter for Paul Thompson Contracting in Easton.

He enjoyed going to dirt track races and driving his Buick Roadmaster. He loved children and all kinds of animals including his pit bull Tye

He is survived by his father, Donald Ralph Nagel and his wife, Nancy, his mother, Joan M. Chupek Nagel, his sister, Lisa Nagel and her companion, Mindy Harding of Federalsburg, a half-sister, Susan Belanger and her husband John of McCleansville, NC, his maternal grandparents, Michael and Betty Chupek of Denton, MD, and aunts and uncles, Darlene and Alan Planner of Federalsburg, Michael Chupek of Ridge, MD, Edward and Betsy Chupek of Cambridge, MD, John and Sue Chupek of St. Michaels, MD and Carol and Pete Schwartzkopf of Rehoboth Beach, DE, his love and companion Jenny L. Moore of Denton and close friends, Dee and Kim Moore of Hurlock. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Ralph and Ruth Nagel formerly of Federalsburg.

Funeral services for him will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg. Interment will follow in Junior Order Cemetery in Preston, MD. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m..

O'Ferrall, Margaret A.

Margaret Adelaide O'Ferrall, 85, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, November 26, 2007 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in Trappe, Maryland on January 12, 1922 and was a daughter of the late Burton and Agnes Hubbard Jackson.

Mrs. O'Ferrall attended school at Cambridge Seminary and later became a Licensed Practical Nurse and was employed by the Eastern Shore State Hospital for 25 years. She retired in 1977. On September 3, 1938 she was married to William Franklin Robert O'Ferrall who passed away on March 12, 1976. Before Mrs. O'Ferrall became ill, she spent many hours on the water while crabbing and fishing. She was quite a fisherwoman and enjoyed sharing her catch with her family and friends. Putting others before herself, she was always ready to help those whom she felt were in need. She also enjoyed playing cards, bowling, pitching horseshoes, needlework and spending time with her family.

She is survived by three sons, Larry L. O'Ferrall and wife Helen of Lanham, MD, Franklin R. O'Ferrall and wife Barbara of East New Market and Daniel M. O'Ferrall and wife Beverly of Linkwood, a daughter-in-law Brenda O'Ferrall Anderson, two brothers Wallace Jackson and wife Joan and James Jackson and wife Carrie, two sisters Bessie Harrah and Peggy Sizemore and husband Bill, nine grandchildren, Larry O'Ferrall, Robert O'Ferrall, Lisa Asplen, Michael and Kevin O'Ferrall, Laura Walters, Angie Boyle, Ryan and Brandon O'Ferrall, 14 great grandchildren Steven and Shannon O'Ferrall, Ava Asplen, Dillon and Mandy O'Ferrall, Marissa and Courtney Boyle, Matthew and Jordan Walters, Lauren and Aaron O'Ferrall, Cody, Alex and Amanda O'Ferrall and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece Mary Agnes Gehring who was very close to her Aunt Margaret. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a son William B. O'Ferrall, a grandson Sean O'Ferrall, two sisters Shirley Smith and Aileen Greenhawk, three brothers Joseph Jackson, Burton Jackson and Benjamin Jackson and her companion for many years James Aler.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

O'Day, Thomas H.

Thomas H. O'Day, 55, of Cambridge, passed away at Dorchester General Hospital on Friday, June 14, 2002. He had been in failing health since January.

He was born in Milford of March 3, 1947, the son of the late Norman Woodrow and Edna Thompson O'Day. He was raised and attended public schools in the Milford area and worked as a self employed carpenter. He enjoyed driving stock cars and at times worked at the Delmar and the Little Lincoln Speedways. He served in the U.S. Army from April of 1966 to April 1968.

He is survived by one daughter Jennifer Calhoun and one son Thomas H. O'Day, Jr., both of Milford, three grandchildren; Olivia O'Day, Tyler Calhoun and Tanner Calhoun, three aunts and one uncle. He was preceded in death by a brother, Norman O'Day.

Arrangements are by Thomas Funeral Home, P.A.

O'Callaghan Sr, Matthew Joseph

GREENSBORO, Matthew Joseph "Matt" O'Callaghan Sr, 45 of Greensboro, died at Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at his home.

He was born January 06, 1957 in Cheverly, Maryland the son of the late James Thomas O'Callaghan. He is survived by his wife Tamara, 2 daughters: Christina Plante and Michelle L. O'Callaghan, 1 son: Matthew O'Callaghan Jr, 4 brothers: Christopher O'Callaghan, Michael O'Callaghan, William Kevin O'Callaghan, Martin O'Callaghan 1 Grandson: Jarrett Plante

He was preceded in death by his father, James Thomas O'Callaghan, Candance O'Callaghan (Sister).

Mr. O'Callaghan was a graduate of Southern High School, Class of 1977. He has lived in this area for 16 after moving from Edgewater, MD. He was a great fan of the North Caroline Bulldogs.

Funeral services will be held August 31, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home in Greensboro. Burial will be at Greensboro Cemetery on Saturday, August 31, 2002.

Visitation will be held at Fleegle-Helfenbein Funeral Home, P.A. on Friday from 7 to 9 P.M.
