Age 63, of Algonac, died April 1, 2003. Mr. Bembas is survived by his son, Michael; and daughters, Julia DeSot, Sally Phillips and Laurie Folkerts. Arrangements were made by Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac. Cremation has taken place.

ORLEAN ETHEL "GRANNY" KIRBY
Age 92, of St. Clair, died March 29, 2003. Mrs. Kirby is survived by her grandchildren, Sharon Winfield of Wales Township, June Zimmer of St. Clair and Thomas of Avoca; six great-grandchildren;; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister; She was predeceased by her husband, Edgar; and a son, Eddie. Services were held in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Columbus, with the Rev. Erwin Bauer officiating. Arrangements were made by Kammeraad Funeral Home, Memphis. Burial was in the church cemetery.

MAY E. HOULE
Age 88, of Arizona, died March 26, 2003. Mrs. Houle retired from Chrysler Corporation and was a member of Smiths Creek Chapter 461 OES. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Perkins of California and Sandra Lavely of Arizona; five grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; a brother, Chester Kidder of Marysville; and many extended family members. Mrs. Houle was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Houle; and a brother, Edward Kidder. Services were held in Marysville Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ralph H. Pieper II of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Riverlawn cemetery, Marysville. Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Valley in Glendale, Arizona.

ALBERT WILLIAM YELENCICH
Age 74, of Columbus died March 30, 2003. Mr. Yelencich was the owner and operator of the Smoke Haus market on Gratiot in Columbus and was a member of the Butchers Union and Sausage Makers of America, Richmond Knights of Columbus Council 2667 and Port Huron Eagles and Moose Lodge. He is survived by his sons, Thomas of Port Huron and Charles of Marysville; daughters, Debra King of Tennessee, Susan Cornwell of Fort Gratiot and Stacy Willis of Kimball; ten grandchildren; sisters, MaryAnn Hinesburg of Traverse City and Barbara Knight of Texas; and brothers, Joseph of Harrison and Ralph Marlin of Florida. Mr. Yelencich was predeceased by his wife, Carol; and a brother, Frank. Services were held in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond, with the Rev. James Commyn officiating. Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society.

JULIUS "JUD" LEICH II
Age 62, of Richmond, died March 21, 2003. Mr. Leich was a salesman for Imlay City Ford and a former member of Knights of Columbus in Fraser and past president and coach of Richmond Little League Association. He is survived by his sons, Julius III of Utica and Brett of Rochester; daughter, Pamela Coules of Richmond; his mother, Martha of Center Line; four grandchildren; and a brother, Jeffrey of Troy. Mr. Leich was predeceased by his wife, Diana; a son, Cary; and his father, Julius. Services were held in All Saints Catholic Church, Memphis, with the Rev. Joseph Horn officiating. Funeral arrangements were made by Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond.

THOMAS J. MUNEIO
Age 72, of Columbus, died March 27, 2003. Mr. Muneio was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Consumers Power and a member of K of C in East Detroit. Mr. Muneio is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Michael, Patrick and Kevin; daughter, Elizabeth Beyer; seven grandchildren; brothers, John and James; and sisters, Joan Burnett, Dolores Rogers, Theresa Bachman, Mary Gregory and Marguerite Dooley. He was predeceased by his sister, Bernice Richert. Services were held in St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clair. Arrangements were made by L.C. Friederichs and Son Funeral Home, St. Clair. Memorials can be made to St. Clair County Humane Society or heart or arthritis associations.

MABEL RUTH TOAL
Age 90, of Algonac, died March 31, 2003. Mrs. Toal is survived by her daughter, Joan Hood; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. No services are scheduled. Arrangements were made by Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac. Cremation has taken place.

DAVID R. DENNIS JR.
Age 55, of Melvin, formerly of Algonac, died March 31, 2003. Mr. Dennis served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a construction superintendent for Thompson-Phelan Inc. Mr. Dennis is survived by his wife, Linda; son, David Jr.; daughter, Carrie Kemp; mother, Marguerite Dennis; six grandchildren; brother, Randy; sister, Rose Dennis; and many extended family members. He was predeceased by his father, David Sr. Services were held in Immaculate Conception Church, Anchorville; with the Rev. David G. Burgard officiating. Burial was in Sacred Heart cemetery, Anchorville. Memorials can be made to the family.

SYLVIA C. PARENT
Age 78, of Chesterfield, died March 31, 2003. Mrs. Parent was a homemaker and a member of St. Peters Church in Mount Clemens, Chesterfield Senior Citizens, Anchorville Senior Citizens and New Baltimore Senior Citizens. She is survived by her husband, Leonard; daughter, Patricia Turner of Marysville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; step-son, James Parent of Roseville; step-daughters, Jane Ciegoturia and Janet Wilson, both of Chesterfield; brother, Marvin Strzyzweski of Warren; sister, Delphine Kunnath of Marine City. Mrs. Parent was predeceased by her first husband, Arnold Comfort; and a son, Daniel Comfort. Services were held in Gendernalik Funeral Home, New Baltimore, with the Rev. James Turner officiating. Burial was in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Clinton Township.

HELEN BARNES-TAORMINO
Age 78, of Fair Haven, died March 18, 2003. Mrs. Taormino and her first husband, Martin Barnes owned Beacon Hardware in Fair Haven and currently owned Ma and Pa's Meat Shop in Fair Haven with her husband Edward. She survived by her husband, Edward ; daughter, Marta Monzo of Algonac; son, Martin II of Fair Haven; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, Robert Poole of Algonac. She was predeceased by her first husband, Martin Barnes. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.

WILLIAM HAROLD GARTIN
Age 63, of Ira, died March 29, 2003. Mr. Gartin served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a general superintendent at Chrysler Corporation until his retirement. Mr. Gartin is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Evelyn Baumgartner of St. Clair Shores, Katherine of Washington Township and JoAnn of Riley Township; son, Keith of Illinois; four grandchildren; brothers, Ernest and James; and sisters, Nina and Helen. He was predeceased by his sister, Nina. Services were held in Christie-Olszewski Funeral Home, New Baltimore, with the Rev. James Holder officiating. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery, New Baltimore.

MARGARET TATRO
Age 82, of Port Huron, died May 22, 2003. Mrs. Tatro is survived by a son, John of St. Clair; daughters, Sally McIntyre and Patsy Turner, both of Ontario; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Wilkins; and many extended family members. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell; daughter, Marie Eveson; and a granddaughter. Services were held in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home, Port Huron, with the Rev. Michael Cadrette officiating. Burial was in Lakeside cemetery, Port Huron.

JAMES R. STOY
Age 82, of Chesterfield, formerly of Warren, died May 22, 2003. Mr. Stoy retired as a tool and die supervisor for ACR Industries in Macomb Township and was a member of VFW St. Clair Shores. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Stoy is survived by his daughters, Michelle Harney of Ann Arbor, Roberta Crank of Fair Haven and Lauren Stroh of Muskegon; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Damrau of New Baltimore, Verna Napper of Oak Park and Jean Moran of Algonac. He was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis. Services were held in Immaculate Conception Church, Anchorville, with the Rev. David G. Burgard officiating. Arrangements were made by Gendernalik Funeral Home, New Baltimore. Memorials can be made to Parkinson's Research, Alzheimer's Association or Presbyterian Village East.
