THEODORE G. HAGEMAN
Age 69, of New Baltimore, died July 29, 2003. Mr. Hageman was a retired pipe fitter for Ford Motor Company's Mount Clemens Paint Plant. He was a member of St. Mary's Queen of Creation Church and AMVETS Post 52. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Hageman is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons, Thomas of Columbus and Ted of Eastpointe; daughters, Shelly Romo of California and Stephanie Witkowski of New Baltimore; three grandchildren; brothers, Andrew Hagemann of Chesterfield and Herman Hagemann of Fair Haven; and sisters, Rita Hagemann and Kathleen Weisenberger, both of Chesterfield, and Diane O'Neil of Mount Clemens. Services were held at St. Mary's Queen of Creation Church in New Baltimore, with the Rev. Nicholas Zukowski officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery in New Baltimore. Arrangements were made by Gendernalik Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the New Baltimore Historical Society.

BERNICE T. DUFORT
Age 85, of New Baltimore, died July 21, 2003. Mrs. Dufort was a parts analyst for the Chrysler Corporation and a member of St. Mary Queen of Creation Church. Mrs. Dufort is survived by her son, Richard; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sister, Helen Cibulski of Warren. She was predeceased by her husband; and daughter, Beverly. Services were held at St. Mary Queen of Creation Church with the Rev. George Browne officiating. Burial was in St. Mary cemetery of New Baltimore. Arrangements were made by the Gendernalik Funeral Home in New Baltimore.

BARBARA DECOVICH
Age 58, of Henderson North Virginia, formerly of Chesterfield, died July 4, 2003. She is survived by her husband, Edward; daughter, Kelly Hillman of Chesterfield; and one granddaughter.

STANLEY F. AXTELL
Age 78, of Clay Township, died July 31, 2003. Mr. Axtell was a retired pipe fitter for Pipe Fitters Local 636 in Detroit. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a longtime member of the VFW. Mr. Axtell is survived by his sons, David and Daniel, both of Clay Township; daughter, Susan of New Baltimore; three grandchildren; and brother, Kenneth of California. He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria; son, Lance; and infant brother, Russell. Services were held at Bower-Rose Funeral Home in Marine City. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society.

MINYON V. MURDICK
Age 71, of Gladwin, formerly of Riley Township, died July 25, 2003. Mrs. Murdick was a retired home care provider. Mrs. Murdick is survived by her husband, Carl; son, Martin of Warren; brother, Nathan Hicks of Indiana; sister, Donna Burgess of North Carolina; and many extended family members. She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Leach. Services were held at Wasik Funeral Home in Shelby Township. Burial was in East Berlin cemetery in Berlin Township. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Helping Hands Inc.

ELIZABETH F. TRITES
Age 98, of Dearborn, formerly of Memphis, died July 29, 2003. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl. Services were held at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home. Burial was in Richards cemetery in Richmond. Memorials may be made to the World Methodist Council's Endowment Fund.

ORVILLE L. HASTINGS
Age 73, of Marysville, died July 27, 2003. Mr. Hastings was employed by the New Haven Foundry for 30 years and also worked as a carpenter. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a charter member of the Marysville VFW Post 2340. Mr. Hastings is survived by his wife, Eleanor; daughter, Sharon Draveling of Clyde Township; two grandchildren; brother, Harold of Port Huron; sister, Dorris Sweet of Ohio; and many extended family members. He was predeceased by his son, David; brothers, Lewis, Floyd and Lawrence; and sisters, Lillian Lane and Mildred Muter. Services were held at the Hillside Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Lyle Reynolds officiating. Burial was in Caswell cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council. Arrangements were made by the Marysville Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Marysville VFW Post 2340 or the Humane Society.

EMILY H. LEGAJ
Age 84, of St. Clair, formerly of Ruby and Florida, died July 28, 2003. Mrs. Legaj was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Clair and a member of the Daughters of Isabella, taught religious education classes and was active in charitable work. Mrs. Legaj is survived by her sons, Paul of North Carolina and Michael of Marysville; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Stephanie Fleszar of Detroit and Charlotte Burgett of Florida; and many extended family members. She was predeceased by her husband, John; brother, Walter Gajor; and sister, Tillie Cybulski. Services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery. Arrangements were made by L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home in St. Clair. Memorials may be made to donor's choice.

BETTY J. SCHUBEL
Age 75, of St. Clair, died July 27, 2003. Mrs. Schubel is survived by her sons, Russell Collingwood and Richard; daughters, Sandra Fjek, Barbara Brown and Judy Swider; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Cook, Ronald Cook and Ed Cook; and many extended family members. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Schubel; sister, Helen Hawks; and brother, Marvin Cook. Services were held at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in China Township. Memorials may be made to Blue Water Hospice.

EDWIN L. PRIEHS, JR.
Age 74, of Dryden, died July 28, 2003. Mr. Priehs was a retired road superintendent from John Carlo Inc. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Priehs was a member of the New Baltimore VFW Post 7575. He is survived by his sons, Geary Sr. of Dryden and Michael Sr. of Romeo; six grandchildren; and sisters, Gertrude Stinger-Werderman of Macomb Township and Helen Foss of Lenox. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Jane. Services were held at Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church in Dryden with the Rev. Steven Helms officiating. Burial was in Dryden Center cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont.

DON MacDONALD
Age 94, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, formerly of Marine City, died Oct. 2, 2003. Mr. MacDonald owned and operated M&D; Lumber Yard until his retirement. He was a member of Marine City United Methodist Church and Marine City Lions Club, also served on the Marine City and East China school boards. Mr. MacDonald is survived by his sons, Philip of Idaho and Robert of Louisiana; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy. Arrangements were made by Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City. Urn interment services will be held in Woodlawn cemetery, Marine City.

JASON GERALD EASTMAN
Age 19, of Dryden, formerly of Almont, died Sept. 20, 2003. He was a graduate of Almont High School in 2002. Mr. Eastman is survived by his parents, Peggy Hodges and step-father Ron Hodges of Richmond, and Darrel Eastman of Dryden; sisters, Melisa Shaules of Monroe and Jennifer Fealko of Port Huron; step-brothers, Shane Hodges of Riley; and grandparents, Gerald Eastman of Dryden, Don and Carol Johnson of Columbus and Ray and Sue Hodges of Casco. Services were held in Whiting Funeral Chapel in Breckenridge. Arrangements were made by Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Almont. Burial was in Ridgelawn cemetery, Breckenridge.

VINCENT A. PELTIER
Age 78, of Algonac, died Oct. 2, 2003. Mr. Peltier was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy on LST 468 and a member of LST Association and the New Baltimore VFW Post 7573. He is survived by his wife, Irene; son, Ronald; and a step-daughter, Carole Carrell. Mr. Peltier was predeceased by a sister, Florence; and brothers, Chester, Kenneth and Edwin. Services were held in Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac, with the Rev. Gerhard Mau of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Algonac, officiating. Veteran services were also held. Burial was in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East cemetery. Memorials can be made to Alzheimer's Association or to the donor's wishes.
