VICTOR J. DeWITTE
Age 62, of Flushing, died December 10, 2005 in his home. He was born February 19, 1943 in Anchorville. He formerly lived in New Baltimore. Mr. DeWitte was a retired engineer for General Motors; he worked there for 38 years. He was a member of Anchor Bay K of C. He enjoyed playing dominoes, playing pool, gardening and working crossword puzzles. He served in the U.S. Marines. He is survived by his children, Christina (John) Brazil of Chesterfield, Maria DeWitte of St. Clair Shores, Victor A. (Julie) DeWitte of Casco, David (Angela) DeWitte of Rochester Hills; grandchildren, Danielle, Connor and Luke Brazil and Isabelle, Abigail and Maggie Dewitte; siblings, Virginia (Edmond) Braeckevelt of Romeo, Nancy (Johnny) Friedhoff of Tennessee and Marianne (David) Naeyaert of Allenton, Gerald (Fran) of Florida and Donald (Mary) of Richmond and former wife, Marie E. DeWitte of Chesterfield. Funeral services were held at Immaculate Conception Church, Anchorville. Funeral arrangements were made by Gendernalik Funeral Home, Inc., 35259 23 Mile Rd., New Baltimore. Memorial may be made to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.

JOHN "JACK" NELSON
92, of Clearwater, Florida, formerly of Anchorville, Michigan passed away November 14, 2005. Born on September 3, 1913 in MotherWell, Scotland. Survived by wife, Rita (Hardy) Nelson. Dear father of Thomas (Louann) Nelson, John (Gloria) Nelson, Cathy (Tom) Agbay, Linda (Dave) Gudenau, Maggie (Bill) Nichols, Sue (Mark) Gudenau. Grandfather of Thomas, Keith, Richard Nelson, Tammy Yarbrough, Daniel, Christoper Nelson, Thomas, Joseph, Tina Agbay, David, Scott Gudenau, Melissa, Sarah Nichols, Jason, Katelynn Gudenau; great grandfather of 17. Preceded in death by first wife, Jeannette M. (Leonard) Nelson, son Daniel Nelson, grandson Michael Nelson. A memorial service was held Tuesday, December 13, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial in Sacred Heart cemetery, Anchorville, Michigan.

AGNES O. MARTIN
88, a lifelong resident of Lenox Twp. died December 1, 2005 in St. Joseph's Medical Center, Clinton Township. She was born May 4, 1917 in New Haven. After 27 years Mrs. Martin retired in 1980 as the head cook for New Haven Community Schools. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Ray Township, the Ladies Aid and taught Sunday school. She was an officer with the Lutheran Ladies Auxiliary, catered weddings and enjoyed sewing and embroidering. She is survived by her children, Kenneth, Eileen (Mel) Spens and Sandra (David) Smith, all of New Haven; son-in-law, Carl Dewald of Hancock; sister, Isabel Werderman of New Haven; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ervin; daughter Marilyn Dewald and twin brother, Alvin Erdman. A funeral service was held December 5, at St. John Lutheran Church, Ray Township. Funeral arrangements were made by Gendernalik Funeral Home, Inc., 35259 23 Mile Rd., New Baltimore. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church General Fund or the Building Fund.

BEULAH G. STERN
Age 88, of Richmond, died Saturday morning January 21, 2006. Surviving are daughter Carol (Richard) Rix of Richmond; 3 sons, Edgar (Lois) of Florida, James (Simone) of Casco and Thomas (Darlene) or Richmond. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Richmond.

CHARLES "Chuck" W. CHRISTY
Age 90 of White Cloud, formerly of Algonac, passed away January 13, 2006. Chuck was born January 13, 1916 in Algonac, Michigan.

DEAN EDWARD ASSELIN
Age 57, of Imlay City passed away suddenly Monday, January 16, 2006 at Port Huron Hospital. Dean was born on April 10, 1948 in Detroit to Eugene Joseph & Margaret Freda (Van Damme) Asselin.

KIM NATALIE PLUTTER
Age 49 of Algonac passed away on January 18, 2006 at her home after battling cancer. She was born May 20, 1956 in Port Huron to Joanne (Shell) East and the late Robert Schon. Kim worked as an echo cardiogram sonographer until the early 1990's when she went to work at Classic Carpet One, a floor covering business in Shelby Township that she and her husband, James Plutter started. Kim was a loving mother and wife who enjoyed shopping, boating, dining out and traveling all over the world with her husband and family. Kim is survived by her husband of 27 years, James Plutter and two daughters Michelle and Andrea Plutter, all of Algonac; her mother and stepfather, Joanne (Don) East of Algonac; her stepmother Kathleen Schon of Warren, Ohio; two sisters, Cindy Wilcox and Patti Spisak; and two brothers, Jeff and Mike East. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, close relative and good friends. Visitation was held at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc., Shelby. Funeral service was at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Inurnment Glen Eden cemetery.

DANIEL THOMAS STAPLEY
49, of Florida, formerly of Algonac, passed away on December 13, 2005. Predeceased by parents, Marvin and Mary Stapley. He is survived by daughter, Renee (Dave) Stouder; grandchildren, Nadia and Dylan of Fair Haven; sisters, Kathy, Sandy, Toni, Shari and Tina; brothers, Mike, Dennis and Scott, as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held January 28, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peters Lutheran Church, 6745 Palms Road in Fair Haven.

ETHEL MARY ZIEHM
95, of Chesterfield Township, passed away Thursday after, January 19, 2006 in Riverside Commons Assistant Living Center in Chesterfield Township. She was born on August 28, 1910 in Washington, Michigan, the daughter of the late William and Julia (Wallace) Weiskirch. Ethel was united in marriage with Carl Frederick Ziehm on April 15, 1939 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Clemens. The couple settled on the Ziehm family farm in Clinton Township and then moved in 1979 to Chesterfield Township. Mr. Ziehm passed away on Sunday, April 24, 1994 in Mount Clemens. Ethel was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton Township. She had worked for a bank, and at the Mt. Clemens Pottery. Mrs. Ziehm is survived by three daughters: Carolyn (Michael) Barren of Columbus Township, Janice (William) Marsack of Lenox Township and Lorraine (Larry) Stromberg of Taylor, Texas. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and her brother, Clinton (Dolores) Weiskirch of Mount Clemens. Visitation was held at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, Mount Clemens. Funeral service was at Trinity Lutheran Church, Clinton Township with the Reverend Thees Hoft officiating. Burial was at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East cemetery in Clinton Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.

CHRISTOPHER J. BASS,
Age 45 of Casco Township., formerly of Roseville, died Tuesday January 11, 2005 in St. John Hospital. He was born August 20, 1959 in Detroit. Mr Bass was employed for over 20 years as a crane operator for Allied Building Products. A graduate of Fraser High School, he loved snowmobiling, skiing, golfing, baseball and water sports. He was a devoted Son, Husband and Father who loved his family and they loved him deeply. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Judy; son, Charles Justin; parents, Richard and Pat Bass; siblings, Peter (Lori) Bass and Renne (Ken) Harris; mother-in-law, Joyce Toon; and nephews, Kevin and Matthew. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Marine City with the Rev. Tim Birney officiating. Entombment was in Resurrection cemetery. Arrangements were made by Kaul Funeral Home, Clinton Township.

HAZEL L. MORGAN
Age 86 of Memphis, died Jan. 10, 2005. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William "Spike" and Leah Hamlin-Morgan of Wales; grandchildren, Shaun, Juan and Malena; sister Dorothy Lynch of Memphis; several nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Judy Smith, Pat Maedel and Dixie Gentner. Services were held in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Emmett. Arrangements were made by Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond. Memorials are suggested to "Wishes of the Family".
