DOLORES J. GALLAGHER
Dolores J. Gallagher, 77, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Covenant Medical Center - Cooper in Saginaw.
She was born October 2, 1931 in Lansing, Michigan, daughter to the late Frank and Mary (Chambers) Kraai.

She attended Everett High School in Lansing.

She married Peter Gallagher on Beaver Island on April 23, 1949. They later moved to Marlette and then to Clifford.

She worked at Metal Craft Industries as a press operator for 29 years and four years at Ligon Factory in Almont until her retirement.

She was a long time member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Clifford.

Surviving are two daughters, Sharon and Kenneth Wilcox and Vickie and Alan Gould both of Marlette; five grandchildren, Michael and Loni Gass of Lapeer, Rodney and Brandy (Gass) Fernandez of Middleburg, Fl., Jason Gallagher of Clifford, Nicholas Gould of Cleveland, OH., and Trevor and Liberty Gould of Caro; eight great-grandchildren Chelsea Gass, Dorothy and Mary Fernandez, Mickenzie and Kody Gould, Lakyn and Maisy Biglow and Alecsis Gould.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Peter of 48 years on May 23, 1997; daughter, Dorothy Gass Fox on September 30, 1996 and brothers Herbert Wheeler and Bernard Kraai.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, December 8, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. in the Marsh Funeral Chapel in with Fr. Richard Treml officiating. Burial was in the Holy Cross cemetery in Beaver Island.

Memorials may be given to the donation of your choice.

INA M. QUINN
Ina M. Quinn, 90, long time resident of Marlette, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Covenant Medical Center - Harrison in Saginaw, Michigan.
She was born May 25,1918 in Bad Axe, Michigan, daughter to the late John and Caroline (Sebastian) Maurer.

She married Lester Quinn September 5, 1936 in Pinnebog.

Mrs. Quinn worked in house keeping at Marlette Community Hospital for 22 years until her retirement in 1980.

She was a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.

She enjoyed cross stitching, crafts, knitting, crocheting, cooking and, most of all, her family.

She is survived by her husband,Lester of 72 years; two sons,Edward (Karen) Quinn of St.Clair and Patrick (Christine) Quinn of Port Huron; three daughters, Patricia (Ray) Cornell of Brown City,Janice (Lawrence) Kennedy of Brown City and Linda (Bruce) Thomas of Curran; one brother, Robert (Selma) Maurer of Filion; 18 grandchildren and many great and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Rosella Travis, twin sister Iva, brothers Vincent, Joe, Jack and Fred.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 11:00 A.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Marlette, with Fr. Andrzej Boroch officiating. Burial was in the St. Elizabeth cemetery in Marlette.

Memorials may be given to the donation of your choice.

A Rosary service will be held on Friday night at 7pm at the funeral chapel. Arrangements by Marsh Funeral Chapel, Inc. Marlette, MI. (989) 635-3658

ELLEN J .LAMBERT
Ellen J. Lambert, 80, long time resident of Marlette, passed away suddenly Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Marlette Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Lambert has lived in Marlette most of her life and was previously from the Shabbona area.

She was born January 28, 1928 in Shabbona, daughter to the late Harry and Margaret (Phillips) Mitchell.

She was a graduate of Cass City High School.

She married R. Curtis Lambert June 6, 1952 in Shabbona, he preceded her in death June 26, 1996.

She was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Marlette for many years. She worked for Metal Craft in Marlette for several years until her retirement. She enjoyed music, walking, gardening, shopping and most of all, her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Dianna and Richard Chapin of Marlette and LuAnn and Dale Allen of Marlette; grandsons, Jimmy and Diana Nepper of Elkton and Corey Nepper of Marlette; brother, Hugh Mitchell of Caro; sisters, Jean and John Wood of Saint Louis and Donna and Otis Dorland of Shabbona.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, with Elder Dennis Herbert and Elder Eric Foster officiating.

Burial will be in the Marlette cemetery.

Memorials may be donated to the Community of Christ Church or Heaven Sent Ministries.

Visitation will be held at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette on Tuesday from 1pm to 9pm.

THEODORE J. AMBROSE
Theodore J. Ambrose, 87, of Silverwood died November 24, 2008.
He was born May 20, 1921 in Detroit to Theodore and Helen Ambrose. He graduated from Catholic High School in Detroit.

He married Jean W. Downey in 1940. During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps and flew over 35 missions over Europe in a B-17 with the 490th Bomber Group. He was shot down twice and received 3 Bronze Stars.

A die sinker he owned and operated Ambrose Tool and Die in Troy for many years. He moved to the upper peninsula and bought the Pines Restaurant. He moved to Silverwood. and loved horses. He was a member of the VFW in Mayville and Kingston and was also a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by seven children DeAnn (Tye) Lindsay, Cynthia (Bruce) Corchis, JoAnn (Martin) Bills, Darlene Forton, AnnMarie (Richard) Corona, Cherrell (Jim) Rourke, Barbara Ambrose, 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, two sisters Aileen LaFrance and Elizabeth (Hank) Kress.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jean, a son Theodore J. Ambrose III, and a brother Cliff and 3 sisters Eleanor Freis, Vera Rudd and Mildred Ambrose.

A memorial mass to be held at St. Patricks Church in Clifford on Friday at 11:30 with the ashes to be inurned at the Veterans cemetery in Holly.

JAMES R. CARGILL
James R. Cargill, of Englewood, FL., passed away Monday, June 23, 2008.
He was born Dec. 28, 1930, in Marlette, MI to Elmer and Ella (Montgomery) Cargill.

He retired from General Motors Corp. after 35 years of service.

He was a member of the Englewood Community Presbyterian Church, a Master Mason, a volunteer for the Special Olympics, and enjoyed making stained glass, bowling, square dancing and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Maria; daughters, Tania (Bruce) Carter of Nashville, TN and Yvonne (David) Houghtaling of Glen Ellyn, IL; brother, Eugene (Joyce) Cargill of Kingston, MI; and grandchildren Maximilian, Sofia, Nicholas and Jacquelin.

A memorial service will be held at the Second Presbyterian Church, Wood and Frenchline Rd., Marlette, MI on Saturday, October 11, 2008, at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in his memory to the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Assoc., 2700 Chestnut St., Chester, PA 19013.

This is an organization dedicated to finding a cure for this type of muscular dystrophy. This support will go to help Jim’s grandson, Nicholas, and many others diagnosed with CMT.

MARY M. SEERS
Mary M. Seers, 87, life long resident of the Clifford, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Marlette Hospice Residence.
She was born August 30, 1920 in Detroit, daughter to the late Joseph and Helen (Gottler) Bauer.

She married Joseph G. Seers on May 8, 1943 in Clifford; he preceded her in death on February 5, 1999.

She was a life long member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Alter Society.

She enjoyed crocheting, reading and friends.

She is survived by her son, Kerry Seers of Clifford; brother, Pete and Jean Bauer of Marlette; sister, Katherine and Warren Christensen of Marlette and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Joseph, Andrew and John and a sister, Helen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Clifford, with Fr. Richard Treml officiating. Burial will be in the St. Patrick's cemetery.

Memorials may be donated to the United Hospice Service.

A Rosary Service will be held Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel in Marlette.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette and Thursday from 10 am until the time of service at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Clifford.

MARY ANNE CARICHNER
Mary Anne Carichner, 76, of Clifford passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 in her home.
She was born December 11, 1931 in Beaver, PA, daughter of the late John and Viola Scheel. She pursued a career as a registered nurse at Sewickley Valley Hospital and married Harry P. Carichner, Jr., June 4, 1955 in Beaver, PA. Soon afterward she moved to the metropolitan Detroit area and eventually moved to Clifford in 1978. She dedicated her life to raising her children and delighted in her grandchildren. She loved gardening, cooking, knitting, puzzles and books.

Surviving are her husband, Harry; two daughters, Sandy Ferency, Seattle, WA; and Wanda Francisco, Macomb, MI; one son, Gordy, Saline, MI; five grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor Garrett, North Palm Beach, FL; two brothers, Earl Scheel, New Port Ritchie, FL and Robert Scheel, Carey, NC. She was preceded in death by a son, Harry P. Carichner III.

Cremation has taken place at the Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City.

A memorial service was conducted Monday, August 4, 2008 at 1:00 pm., in the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, with Pastor Chris Wolf officiating.

Memorials may be given to the donation of your choice.
