MITCHELL - Don R. Mitchell, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 2, 2017. Don served and retired from the U.S. Navy after 24 years of service. He enjoyed traveling and motorcycling. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Rachel "Midge" Mitchell; his children, Don R. Mitchell II, Elaine (Kyle) Anderson; his grandchildren, Michael (Ashleigh), Raechael (Ivan), Salynn, and Kiella-Rose; his great grandchildren, Isaiah, Kaidence, and Maleigha; his brothers, Bill Mitchell and Ed Mitchell; many nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 11, from 1 to 4 pm at the Louis Teistler American Legion Post #47, 3811 West River Dr., NW; Comstock Park, MI 49321; where a Military Honors Service will be held at 1 pm under the auspices of the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. Contributions in memory of Don may be made to the Lewis Teistler American Legion Post #47.

HUIZENGA - Donna J. Huizenga, age 89, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. Donna loved her family and enjoyed tending her beautiful garden. Her daughter, Sue Kas; son, Dale Huizenga; sisters, Muriel Pranger and Nina Ensing, preceded her in death. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, John "Carl"; daughter, Debra (Donald) Flokstra; son-in-law, Duane Kas; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronald Huizenga, Carol (James) Teman; many nieces and nephews. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, November 10, from 5 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, November 11, at Caledonia Christian Reformed Church, 9957 Cherry Valley SE, with Rev. Merle Buwalda officiating. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Caledonia. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice or the Right To Life of MI.

NENA MARIE SAMUEL
January 11, 1982 - November 9, 2017
From the moment she was brought home wrapped in a white receiving blanket, we all fell in love with the most perfect, beautiful baby we had ever laid our eyes on. The oldest of two children, Nena loved life and loved to be in the spotlight. She was talented and athletic and loved to sing and dance. Nena was deeply loved by her mother, MiSook Piotrowski, her two children, Ashtyn and Angelena; and her extended family. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Stanley Piotrowski. Visitation with Nena's family will be held from 1 - 2 PM on Tuesday, November 14, at Stroo Funeral Home, where a memorial service will begin at 2 PM. You will ALWAYS be loved and sorely missed!

WAYNE F. FULLER, JR.
GRAND RAPIDS, MI
Wayne F. Fuller, Jr., age 56, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017, following a courageous battle with cancer. Wayne had a lifelong passion for the sport of wrestling. He was a committed and accomplished wrestling coach, and enjoyed using his skills to help mold talent throughout the State of Michigan. Wayne served as Assistant Coachon two state championship wrestling teams in Lowell and Greenville and spent many seasons traveling and coaching with Team Michigan. His parents, Wayne, Sr. and Marge Fuller, preceded him in death. He is survived by his sons, Cory (Alicia) Fuller and Jason (Carrie) Fuller, and their mother, Julie Leal; his grandchildren, Eliza and Blake; his brothers, Ken Fuller, Jeff Fuller, and Ryan Fuller; as well as many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 1 PM Monday, November 13, at Stroo Funeral Home, with Pastor Gary Core officiating. Interment will follow in Solon Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to USA Wrestling, 6155 Lehman Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80918. Wayne's family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, November 12, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM at Stroo Funeral Home.

Nina M. Flint, age 83, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017. Nina was born on August 4, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude A. Flint, and her sister, Angela. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Tim McCaul; her grandsons, Steven McCaul, Brian (Evangeline) McCaul; her great grandson, Isaac McCaul; and her sister, Mary Caldwell of Florida. As Nina requested, cremation has taken place and private family services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Mel Trotter Ministries.

TRAN - Elana Nhu Tran, aged 18, of Kentwood, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 13, 2017. Elana spent most of her time drawing. She loved art, animation, and had a love for space and the stars. Elana was extremely sweet and loved to joke and be sassy. She was passionate about animals, did everything she could to learn about them and cared for any animal she came across. She will be lovely remembered by her parents, Steven and Holly Tran; sister, Eileen; brother, Ethan; Grandfather, Hoa Tran; Grandmothers, Khanh Ton and Son Le; uncles and aunts, David (Cam), Tony (Kathy), Aaron (Minh), Elaine (Alex), Kevin (Yen), Jasmine, Kayla (Thai), Amy (Tho), Lola (Trang); many cousins and friends. The family will greet visitors on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 2 to 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th Street, SE.

WARNER - Adelbert “Del” H. Warner, aged 95 of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord on Monday, November 13, 2017. Del served in the US Navy during WWII and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #7581 in Wayland, MI. His wife of 70 years, Doris; granddaughter, Kyle McGregor; brother, Kenneth; preceded him in death. Surviving are his children, Adele Hirkaway, Harold (Kathy) Warner, Dennis (Loretta) Warner, Jennie (Harold) Sandoval, Jackie Bailey; 18 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Ethel Brown, Agnes Chelbana, Robert (JoAnn) Warner, Donald (Nancy) Warner, Shirley (Lee) Reed, Shirley Warner; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Stroo Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin VanderMeyden officiating. Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Del may be made to Heartland Hospice. The family will greet visitors on Thursday from 5 to 8 pm at the Stroo Funeral Home.

Elizabeth J. "Betty" (Brinks) Figueroa, age 90, went to her heavenly home on Monday, January 29, 2018. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; her sons, Fred Jr. and Dennis, and her daughter-in-law, Wilma Figueroa. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Donald William Figueroa, Alan Jay Figueroa, and Edward James (Euridice) Figueroa; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; her sister, Wilma Courson; her brother, Calvin James Brinks; as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, February 2, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 3, at 2:00 pm. Rev. Robert L. "Bob" Morris, age 96, of Caledonia, went to join his wife in heaven on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. Bob was the owner of Morris Brothers Electric. He loved fishing, hunting, and golfing. He proudly served as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy during WWII. The family wishes to thank the Veterans Administration for all the assistance they provided to dad, including sight assistance materials. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian, the love of his life; and oldest son, Michael. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Gloria (Gene) Dummer, Phyllis (Jon) McBride, Richard Morris, Bryan (Denise) Morris, Beth Bischoff; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; his special friend, Jean Mumford; and many other close friends. The family will greet visitors on Saturday, February 3, from 10 - 11 am at Stroo Funeral Home, where the funeral will begin at 11 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Association for the Blind.
