Darrell Ham, age 82, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 21, 2017. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean War era, and enjoyed a successful career in sales. Preceding him in death are his son, Gregory Ham; a brother, Jim Ham; and step-granddaughter, Amber Lynn VanKlompenberg. Darrell will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Berdena; his children, Jeff (Sue) Ham, Bob (Wendy) Ham; daughter-in-law, Sandy Ham; step-children, Lori (Randy) VanKlompenberg, Kelly (John) Sharkey, Shaun (Jayne) Macomber; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Frances Evans; brother, Jerry Ham; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Ham, Brandt (Carolyn) Hofman, Dorinda (Rog) Wiersma, Gary (MaryLou) Hofman, Nadene (Bill) Hunt; and many nieces and nephews. The family will greet visitors on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 at Stroo Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday, May 25, at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 7171 Willard Ave. SE, with Rev. Evan Heerema officiating. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment in Winchester Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Darrell may be made to Emmanuel Hospice or The Clark Home.

Harriet (DeHoek) Keyzer Kuipers, age 96, of Cutlerville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 28, 2017. Harriet was born December 22, 1920, the second of six children born to Edward and Nellie DeHoek. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Peter Keyzer and Claude Kuipers; her brothers and sisters, Edward DeHoek, Anne (Dick) DeLano, Jack DeHoek, Richard DeHoek, and Joan Koetje. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Mary and Ron Schrotenboer, Jim and Vicki Keyzer; her grandchildren, Brad and Abbie, Tim and Patti, Megan and Casey; Erin and Brian, Peter and Amy, Bettina and Jacob; her great grandchildren, Annalise and Dominik, Ella and Luke, Clarissa; her step-children, Carolyn and Rich VanderMeulen, Doug and Sharon Kuipers, Sharon and Rick Vryhof and their families; her sisters-in-law, Barbara DeHoek and Helene DeHoek; as well as many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday, June 1, at Stroo Funeral Home, with Rev. Ken VanWyk officiating. Interment in Winchester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Pine Rest Christian Hospital Patient Assistance Fund. The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM at Stroo Funeral Home.

Kathy Meyer, age 67, of Kentwood, went into the presence of the Lord on Friday, May 19, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rennie and Gert Meyer. Kathy is survived by her brother, Dave (Joan) Meyer; her sister, Diane (Jim) Heyboer; one niece and four nephews, Becky (Joe) Fitzpatrick, Scott (Kerry) Heyboer, Ben (Kristen) Meyer, Mike (Katie) Heyboer, Andy (Erin) Heyboer; nine great nephews and nieces, Charlie, Quinn, Gideon, Sawyer, Grady, Jackson, Blake, Charlotte, and Ashton. Kathy was a member of Good News Baptist Church, where she was involved in many different ministries. She also enjoyed volunteering at Our Daily Bread Ministries two days a week. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 2, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. at Stroo Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, at Good News Baptist Church, with Pastor Brian Cedarquist and Pastor Terry Frazine officiating. Interment will be in Wilcox Cemetery, Nashville, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to Good News Baptist Church, 6830 Eastern Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508.

Arnolda Marie "Arnie" Raymond (Hyde)
Service: Held at a later date
Arnolda Marie "Arnie" Raymond (Hyde), of Wayland, formerly of Fenton and Linden, MI, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the age of 87. She is survived by her sons, Rodney L. Raymond (Diane), Roy H. Raymond (Pamela); and daughter, Jeanne M. Rogers (Jeff); seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Bob Hyde (Val), Carl Hyde; and sister, Nancy Wolverton (Dick). She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Raymond; her parents, a brother and three sisters. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Joseph J. Pavlak, age 75, of Kentwood, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 25, 2017. Joe honorably served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wally and Wanda Pavlak. Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Nancy; his children, Audra (Tom) Young, Lori (Daryl) Hobbs, Scott (Rachel) Pavlak; grandchildren, Jenny, Amanda (Aaron), Kristina, Faith, Angeline, Victoria, Aiden, Avery, Asher, Kaydence; sisters, Virginia (Mike) Rolph, and Janice (Al) Pruim. The family will greet visitors on Tuesday, May 30, from 11:30 am - 1 pm at Heritage Baptist Church, 1570 60th St. SE, where the funeral will begin at 1 pm. Pastor Dave Graef will officiate. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heritage Baptist Church Mission Fund or Faith Hospice.

Richard Allen Krzykwa, Sr., age 86, of Dutton, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Richard served in the Korean War and was stationed in Guam. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Carol, the love of his life; his children, Mary (Gary) Merritt, Robin Krzykwa, April Vega, Richard Krzykwa, Jr., Connie Smit, Robin Kay (Rick) Rasmussen, Jerry (Ella) Gehling, Tom (Lynn) Miller, Tammie Miller, Michael (Jill) Miller, Michelle Miller; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great great grandson. The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of Spectrum Health Continuing Care Facility, especially the Lakeshore staff, for the compassionate care given to Richard. Cremation has taken place. The family will greet visitors on Monday, May 29, from 6-8 at Stroo Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, May 30, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW. with Fr. Mike Alber as celebrant. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Vianney School Foundation.

Arline Ruth Pothof (Dumas), age 87, of Kentwood, went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 22, 2017. Arline was a woman of faith and a giving spirit to many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur. Arline will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Sharyn (Thomas) Hutchison, and Ellen (Mark) Lundell; grandchildren, Scott (Alicia) Vermeer, Erin Lundell, Nate Lundell, Elyse Lundell; great grandson, Bruce Vermeer; brother-in-law, Charlie (Darlene) Pothof; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 30, from 5-8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, and on Wednesday prior to the service from 10-10:45 am at the church. The funeral service will be held 11 am on Wednesday, May 31, at Eastern Avenue Christian Reformed Church, 514 Eastern Ave. SE, with Rev. Thea Leunk officiating. Interment in Pine Hill Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Arline may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Alfred James "Al" Zandstra, saved by grace, went to glory on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, one month shy of his 84th birthday. Al proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years. He very much enjoyed fishing and spent many years at Big Star Lake in Baldwin, and Hamlin Lake in Ludington. He worked at Steelcase for 25 years and after retiring he loved woodworking and spent many years in his workshop. Al was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn (Dikkers); his children, Dawn and Gary Robinson, Darla and Bill Musk; his grandchildren, Amy (Lance) Lowery, Chad (Krista) Robinson, Danny Musk, Kaylee Musk; a great grandson, Eric Lowery, with another great grandchild on the way; his twin brother, Albert Jr. (Wilma) Zandstra; brothers-in-law, Robert Pranger, Herman (Annette) Dikkers; many nieces and nephews. The family expresses sincere thanks to all of the doctors and nurses at the Meijer Heart Center for their loving care. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Friday, May 26, at Cutlerville East Christian Reformed Church, 501 68th St. SE, with Rev. Bill Renkema officiating. Interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Toys for God's Kids, info@toysforgodskids.org. The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday from 5-8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, and Friday prior to the service from 9:30-10:15 am at the church.
