Sheila Pechtel
Sheila Pechtel, 56, Moorhead, MN, died July 25, 2003, in her home in Moorhead.
Sheila JoAnn Pechtel was born November 26, 1946, to Willard and Bernice (Parr) Pechtel in Mahnomen, MN. The family moved several times before settling in Crookston, MN, where Sheila graduated from Mt. Saint Benedict High School. Sheila attended the University of Mary, Bismarck, ND, and graduated with a degree in education. She taught for 25 years at several schools including St. Joseph Catholic School and George Washington Elementary, both in Moorhead. She retired from teaching in 2002.
Sheila is survived by three sons, Bemo, Berto and Jeremy Martinez, all of Moorhead; her father and stepmother, Willard (Gloria) Pechtel, Fargo, ND; a brother, Gregory (Joyce) Pechtel, Tucson, AZ; four stepsisters, Kathy (Steve) Romer, Monticello, MN, Danielle (Jeff) Poliak, Prescott, WI, Deb (Lonnie Hanson) Meyer, Hawley, MN, and Kim (Noel) Shuckhart, Moorhead.

Jerry Nielsen
Jerald “Jerry” Nielsen, 55, Moorhead, MN, died Monday, July 28, 2003, in his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Jerald Willard Nielsen was born July 1, 1948, to Julius and Agnes (Severson) Nielsen, in Moorhead, where he was raised. Jerry graduated from Moorhead High School in 1966 and from Moorhead State University with a business degree. On June 12, 1971, Jerry married Valerie Bergseth in Moorhead. Jerry worked for seventeen years for Bergseth Brothers Company, Fargo, ND. In 1991, Jerry and others opened Playmakers in Fargo. He was active as an owner-operator until selling his interests in 2000.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Valerie, Moorhead; three children, Stacy Nielsen, Stephanie Nielsen, and Jay Nielsen, all Moorhead; mother, Agnes Nielsen, Fargo; and two sisters, Patricia Nielsen, Maple Grove, MN, and Ginger (Ken) Schneider, Fargo.

George P. Nornes
George Pernel Nornes of Climax, MN, was a man of faith who loved God first and family second. His time on this earth was filled with living a life that pleased God - whether he was teaching agriculture in the Climax High School, distributing Bibles with the Gideons, sharing his love for agricultural activities at the Minnesota State Fair and the Crookston Winter Show, farming, camping with his family, getting donuts with his granddaughters, or building a tree-house with his grandsons.
George gave himself in service to his church, his country and his community. Because of that he was honored in many ways. George made everyone who knew him feel special. He loved people and knew that by serving and loving others he was sharing the love of God.
George was born on Sept. 16, 1925, in Winger, MN, to Bernt and Martha Nornes. He died of a stroke on July 28, 2003.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce (Tharaldson) Nornes of Climax, and three daughters, Gaye (Steve) Lindfors, Vadnais Heights, MN, Julie (Greg) Benedict, Chaska, MN, and Lori (Michael) Charron, Woodbury, MN. His five grandchildren were the joys of his life, David, Danny and Scott Benedict, and Kelsy and Julia Charron. He is also survived by his sister, Idelle (Roger) Bagne and his brothers, Berdeen (Jill) Nornes and Harold (Marji) Nornes.
George was preceded in death by three children, David, Danny, and Lynette; and his brother, Maurice Nornes.
George’s legacy of faith, family, and community service will continue forever.

Karla Kline-Adamczyk
Karla M. Kline - Adamczyk, Moorhead, MN, died Monday, July 28, 2003, at the age of 39.
Karla Marie Kline, daughter of Stephen and Eleanor (Haedt) Kline, was born October 29, 1963, in Fargo, ND. She grew up and attended school in Sioux Falls, SD, where she graduated from Lincoln High School. Karla attended NDSU, Fargo, and graduated with a degree in sociology, from MSUM, Moorhead.
Karla thought the world of her family, nephews and friends. She was a positive soul mate and partner with her husband in their business. Her smile made our hearts warm and our lives brighter. Karla was a very visible person in many people’s lives.
Karla enjoyed playing the piano and French horn, and was a member of the South Dakota All State Band in 1982. She loved to play board games and tennis with her nephews. She was also an avid reader and loved to learn. She was a very caring person and will be greatly missed.
Karla is survived by her husband, Jim; parents, Eleanor and Steve Kline, Moorhead; sister, Karen (Jim) Gemar, Moorhead; brothers, Timothy (Mara) Kline, Chandler, AZ, and Thomas Kline, Tempe, AZ; two stepchildren, Frank and Ashlee; several nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Allen Jacobson
Allen C. Jacobson, 78, Fargo, ND, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Allen Clifford Jacobson was born January 2, 1925, in Lee Township, Norman County, MN, to Joseph and Melissa (Connelly) Jacobson. Allen was raised and educated in Norman County and later graduated from NDSU, Fargo. He married Elsie Marie Dalen, September 8, 1951, in Moorhead, MN, and they made their home in Fargo. Allen worked for Northern States Power, Fargo. For many years, Allen worked as a truck driver for Midwest Motor Express, Fargo. After Allen retired, he lived in Perley, MN, for a few years. He lived in Moorhead Manor for a time before moving to McIntosh Manor, McIntosh, MN. Allen returned to Fargo recently and lived in Villa Maria. Allen enjoyed many types of music, as well as poetry.
Allen is survived by two daughters, Linda Wigdahl and Lisa Jacobson, both Fargo; one son, Jerry Jacobson, Fargo; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A daughter, Marna, and a brother, C. Merlin Jacobson, preceded Allen in death.

Dorothy Felix
Dorothy J. Felix, 72, Minneapolis, MN, formerly of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, August 3, 2003, in her home.
Dorothy Jean Iverson was born September 10, 1930, in Becker County, MN. She attended high school in Detroit Lakes, MN. On December 17, 1949, Dorothy married Earl Felix in Moorhead, MN, and they made their home in Fargo. Dorothy worked at Hornbachers in both Moorhead and Fargo for many years. Earl died on February 8, 1992. Dorothy moved to Minneapolis in May of this year to live with her sister.
Dorothy is survived by two sisters, Vivian Kerr, Minneapolis, and Audrey Denis, Indianapolis, IN; and a brother-in-law, Harold Floan, West Fargo.

Carl Anderson
Carl G. Anderson, 49, West Fargo, ND, died at his home on Monday, August 4, 2003.
Carl Gordon Anderson was born in Moorhead, MN, on June 9, 1954. He grew up and received his education in Moorhead, where he graduated from Moorhead High School in 1973. Carl lived in Moorhead, Detroit Lakes, MN, for seven years, and in West Fargo for the last five years. He worked at the Crystal Sugar Beet plant in Moorhead, and as a truck driver.
Carl is survived by a brother, Henry, West Fargo; and a sister, Gloria Anderson, Fargo, ND.
Visitation: one hour prior to the memorial service at Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Gladys Ross
Gladys Ross, 92, Fargo, ND, died on Thursday, August 7, 2003, at Innovis Health in Fargo.
Gladys Joy Amelia Gordon, the daughter of Clarence A. and Minnie (Vang) Gordon, was born September 10, 1910, at Hillsboro, ND. She grew up and received her education in Hillsboro. Gladys attended and graduated from Mayville (ND) State Teacher’s College, after which she taught school in the Mayville area. On June 25, 1933, Gladys was united in marriage to Roy L. Ross at Hillsboro. Following their marriage, they made their home in Fargo. Her husband, Roy, died on June 1, 1974. Since July of 2001, Gladys had been a resident of Villa Maria in Fargo.
In addition to her husband, Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Carrold and Harvey, and a grandson, Jeffrey Ross.
Gladys is survived a daughter, Donna (Tom) Kramer, Harwood, ND; a son, Allen (Pat) Ross, West Fargo, ND; five grandchildren, Deb Gahner, Diane (Bill) Johnson, Linda (Ken) Schwanke, David (Holly) Ross and Duane Ross; 10 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, one hour prior to the funeral, First Assembly of God, Fargo.
Funeral service: Monday, Aug. 11, 2003 - 10:30 AM First Assembly of God, Fargo.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
