Timothy Tweten

Timothy S. Tweten, 45, Moorhead, MN, died Friday, August 8, 2003, in Innovis Health, Fargo, ND.

Timothy Scott Tweten was born July 13, 1958, in Fargo. The family lived in Moorhead where Tim graduated from Moorhead High School. On January 19, 1979, Tim married Debbie K. Lovold in Moorhead where they made their home. Tim worked construction in the Fargo-Moorhead area.

Tim is survived by his wife, Debbie, Moorhead; a daughter, Shelby (Raul) Tweten Rendon, Moorhead; his parents, George Jr. and Mary Tweten, Moorhead; two brothers, David (Judy), West Fargo, ND, Brian (Carrie), Moorhead; three sisters, Sue (Larry) Olin, Brainerd, MN, Becky (Terry) Swanson, Fargo, Wendy (Mark) Dillon, Aurora, CO; and one granddaughter.

Leland Brendemuhl

Leland “Bud” C. Brendemuhl, Moorhead, MN, died August 7, 2003, at Innovis Health, Fargo, ND, at the age of 79.

Leland Christian Julius Fredrick Brendemuhl, son of Christian H. and Agnes B, . (Krabbenhoft) Brendemuhl was born July 9, 1924, in Sabin, MN. Leland attended grade school in Sabin and graduated from Moorhead State Campus High School, Moorhead, in 1942. After graduating from Interstate Business College, Fargo, Leland worked for Pioneer Mutual Insurance, Fargo. Leland was united in marriage to Elouise M. Lovelace on August 8, 1944, in St. Paul, MN. The couple made their home in Moorhead, where Bud owned and operated the White Spot Drive In for fifteen years. He later worked for Moorhead State University, Moorhead, retiring in 1988. “Bud” Leland had many friends in the area including Ray Krabbenhoft, Sabin, who was his friend for 73 years. He was a long time member of Grace United Methodist Church, Moorhead.

Leland is survived by his wife, Elouise, Moorhead; and three beloved sisters, Florence North, Moorhead, Fern Wilson, Torrance, CA, and Dixie (Ron) Jackson, Moorhead. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be sent to Grace United Methodist Church, Moorhead.

Olga Gettel

Mrs. Olga Gettel died at her home in Fargo, ND, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, on Sunday, August 10, 2003, at the age of 86.

Olga Rohrbach was born on July 30, 1917 in Streeter, ND. She was the daughter of John and Katharine (Hauk) Rohrbach. While Olga was a young girl, the family moved to Ashley, ND, where Olga grew up and received her education. In 1932, Olga married William Schaffer. They made their home in Ashley, and in 1942, moved to Fargo, ND. Olga worked as a cook at a local restaurant, helped farm harvests in Minnesota and North Dakota and worked as a housekeeper for local families in Fargo. On January 16, 1960, Olga was married to Ervin A. Gettel, at Aberdeen, SD. Following their marriage they made their home in Fargo. Ervin died on Oct. 9, 1994. Following his death, Olga retired from housekeeping and she continued to make her home in Fargo.

Olga is survived by her daughter, Bette (Clayton “Bud”) Anderson, Moorhead, MN; two sons, Lawrence (Maryjane) Schaffer and John Gettel, both Fargo; two sisters, Edna (Adam) Schilling, Ashley, and Freida Stroh, Jamestown, ND; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Olga also had three caretakers in her later years who where very special to her, Heather Brandt, Ann Greshik, and Carol Wagner.

In addition to her husband, Ervin, Olga was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Emma, three brothers, four sisters, and a daughter-in-law, Lorraine Schaffer.

Visitation: Tuesday, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Funeral service: Wednesday, August 13, 2003, at 2 PM Trinity Lutheran Church Moorhead.

Burial: Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead.

Marjorie McIntyre

Marjorie A. McIntyre, 62, Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, August 12, 2003, in SCCI Hospital, Fargo.

Marjorie Ann McIntyre was born March 7, 1941, in Spring Creek Township, Norman County, near Fertile, MN, to Floyd and Sylvia (Bak) Olson. Marjorie graduated from Fertile-Beltrami High School in 1959. She married Emil Hitner in Ada, MN, and they made their home in Hoyt Lakes, MN. Following Emil’s death, Marjorie married Daniel C. McIntyre, April 15, 1989, in Duluth, MN, and they made their home in Moorhead, MN. Daniel died November 10, 1992.

Marjorie is survived by three stepchildren, Terri McIntyre, Duluth, Lisa Neilson, Embarrass, MN, and Michael Koski, Eveleth, MN; six stepgrandchildren; one sister, Sonja (Ordell) Leines, Chanhassen, MN; brothers, Jerome “Butch” (Mike) Olson, Fertile, Roger Olson, Ada, and Richard (Vernie) Olson, Moorhead; several nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Trina Koski and Cecilia Emerson. Marjorie was preceded in death by her two husbands and her parents.

Visitation: Thursday, August 14, 2003; 5 - 7 PM Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead

Funeral: Friday, August 15, 2003; 2 PM First Assembly of God, Fargo

Burial: Concordia Lutheran Cemetery; Fertile, MN.

Louis Oliver

Louis C. Oliver was born August 18, 1915, in Cumberland, WI, the third of eight children to Frank and Domenica Oliver. After a few years in St. Paul, MN, the family settled in Dilworth, MN, where Louis grew up and attended school. Louis proudly served stateside in the US Army infantry during WW II. On June 30, 1947, Louis married Lorraine Helgeson at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Fargo, ND. In 1979, Louis retired having spent most of his career as a railroad switchman with Northern Pacific, Great Northern and Burlington Northern Railways. Louis and Lorraine also owned and operated Louie’s Café on main street in Dilworth in the late 1950’s. Louis was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church.

Louis enjoyed carpentry, music, dancing, his pets and laughing with his beloved family and friends. Those who knew him will miss his wit, kindness and gracious generosity. Louis died Wednesday, August 13, 2003, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, at eighty-seven years of age.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Lorraine; a son, Carmen (Beth) Olivieri, Sioux Falls, SD; two daughters, Bonita (Brad) Bailie, Waupaca, WI and Renee (Randy) Chrissis, Hutchinson, MN. He is also survived by two brothers, Josef (Vaughnie), Fargo and Tommy (Audrey), Dilworth; three sisters, Mary Altobelli, Dilworth, Anna Zeuli, Anaheim, CA and Rachel (Duane) Campbell, Fargo; a sister-in-law, Margaret Oliver, Fargo; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Louis was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Michael and Alphonse.

Joel Prudhomme

Joel Bernard Prudhomme was born December 2, 1960, to Dale and Thelma (Tate) Prudhomme in Crookston, MN, where he was raised. He graduated from Central High School, Crookston, and entered the Navy in 1979. Joel served on the USS John F. Kennedy and the USS Jason.

Upon his discharge from the military in 1991, Joel returned to Crookston and attended Northwest Technical College, East Grand Forks, MN. He then worked as a welder for Case International, Fargo, ND. Around 1994, Joel returned to the Sabin area.

Joel died Tuesday, November 11, 2003, in the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center, Fargo, at the age of 42.

Joel is survived by a son, Jarrod Prudhomme, and a daughter, Beverly Prudhomme, both of Nampa, Idaho; his parents, Dale and Thelma Prudhomme, Sabin; three brothers, Richard (Flora) Prudhomme, Winger, MN, Thomas (Kim) Prudhomme, Woodbridge, VA, and Kevin (Nicole) Prudhomme, Glyndon, MN; and three sisters, Cynthia Murphy, Glyndon, Pamela Prudhomme, Comstock, MN, and Lynn (Greg) Mueller, Sabin.

Felicia Pullar

Felicia Nicole Pullar was born March 29, 1983, in International Falls, MN, to Michael and Karen (Loeffert) Pullar. The family moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1989, where she was raised and attended school. Felicia died Wednesday, November 12, 2003, in her home in Moorhead, at twenty years of age.

Felicia is survived by her mother, Karen, Moorhead; grandparents, James Loeffert, Minneapolis, MN, and Evelyn (Don) Benson, Moorhead; great-grandmother, Mildred Kirchmann, Moorhead; half sister, Dana Skime, MN and a half brother, Mitch Pullar, International Falls.

Lester Edmunds

Lester V. Edmunds, age 83, of Moorhead, MN, formerly of Hendrum, MN, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at MeritCare Hospital, South University, Fargo, ND.

Lester Vernon Edmunds, the son of Ed and Myrtle (Mathison) Edmunds was born at Gardner, Illinois, on January 5, 1920. As a very young child he moved with his family to the Hendrum area, where he grew up and received his education. As a young man, he was active in 4-H, especially showing horses, and singing in many 4-H contests.

In 1940, Lester joined the US Navy. He served during WW II, for almost four years, being stationed in California and in Mississippi.

On April 20, 1944, Lester was united in marriage to Helen Peterson, at Concordia Lutheran Church, rural Hendrum. They made their home on the family farm near Hendrum, where they operated a dairy, beef, and grain farm.

In 1978, they retired from farming. While they continued to live on the farm, Lester and Helen spent many winters in Mesa, AZ. Lester was active in his church and community. He was a member of the Gideons, and many mission organizations. Lester loved his Lord, and never failed to share his faith with others.

He is survived by his wife, Helen, Lutheran Memorial Home, Halstad, MN; four daughters, Nancy (Ray) Ward, St. Vincent, MN, Jorgene (Darryl) Alsager, Walcott, ND, Pamela (Kit) Grove, Detroit Lakes, MN, and Joan (Craig) Borgen, Fargo, ND; and four grandchildren, Joshua and Carly Alsager and Bethany and Adam Borgen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marguerite Edmunds, and three brothers, Alvin, Forrest and Clifford.

Visitation: Saturday, 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Prayer service: Saturday, 7:30 PM Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Funeral: Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at 3:00 PM Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hendrum, MN.

Burial: Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Hendrum.
