Myrle Denny, 95

Myrle Marguerite Denny, 95, formerly of Maple Lake (specifically Sugar Lake), passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010 at Lake Ridge Care Center, Buffalo.

Private family services took place on Friday, Oct. 15, 2 p.m., at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Nancy) Denny and Laurence Denny, and by grandchildren, Christina (David) Kruse, Joshua and Zachariah.

Myrle was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Ashley Denny.

The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo assisted the family with arrangements.

Anthony Glunz, 88

Anthony R. Glunz, age 88 of Bloomington, died Oct. 16, 2010. Born and raised in Buffalo, MN. Army Veteran of WWII. Loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.

Preceded in death by wife, Gayle; and parents, George and Lillian Glunz.

Survived by daughters, Dianne (Mac) McAvoy and Joanne (Lowell) Sannan; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Phyllis) Glunz; sister, Catherine (Harold) Lambert; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial service 11:00 A.M. Wednesday with a gathering one hour prior at Hope Presbyterian Church, 7132 Portland Ave. S., Richfield. Inurnment Lakewood Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the American Heart Association.

Merie Hancock, 88

Merie Lorraine Hancock of Grace Pointe Crossing Nursing Home in Cambridge passed away on Friday, Oct. 15, 2010 at the age of 88 years.

Merie was born at home on Aug. 21, 1922 in Pokegama Township to Alois and Grace Novak. She was the third child along with five siblings (three sisters and two brothers).

Being of Christian faith, Merie was baptized as a young girl in the Methodist Church and a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Grasston. When Merie was only ten years old, her mother passed away. She grew up with her father and cared for him until the day he died.

Luverne Hancock came into Merie's life in 1939, and they were married two years later on May 15, 1941. To this union, five children were born and raised on the family dairy farm near Henriette.

Although Merie never worked outside of her home she was a hardworking woman who enjoyed having a large garden, canning, baking, cooking, sewing and helping others -- always done with a smile! She was active in her church, school and community.

Merie will be remembered for her positive attitude, friendly personality, generous nature, and calm demeanor. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Merie was preceded in death by: her husband, parents, three sisters, one brother, one grandchild, and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by: one brother, Louis Nelson (Delores) and her five children, Joan Johnson, John Hancock, Steve Hancock (Cheryl), Vicky Tanis, (Will), and David Hancock (Dee). Merie is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at Hope Lutheran Church in Grasston, Minn., with Rev. Herman Bakker presiding.

Casket bearers were: Danny Hancock, Joe Tanis, Jason Hancock, Jim Tanis, Eric Hancock, and Caleb Hancock.

Interment was at the Birchwood Cemetery in Pine City, Minn.

Arrangements were with the Rock Ingebrand Funeral Home of Braham.

Arlean Kottke, 86

Arlean Marie Kottke, 86, of Corcoran passed away Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010.

Arlean was born December 13, 1923 in Medina, Minnesota to Edmund and Rosabella (Berthiaume) Laurent and was a lifelong resident of Corcoran.

Arlean was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael, and was a homemaker who enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, gardening, canning, baking and making rag rugs on her loom.

She is survived by: her husband, Chester Kottke, Sr. of Corcoran; children, Chester Kottke, Jr. and wife Judy, Marilyn Dahlen and husband Kurt, Dianne Griffith and husband Robert, Randy Kottke and wife Cec, and Russ Kottke and wife Cindy; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers and sisters, Dorothy Ende, Edward Laurent, Sr. Mary Edmund Laurent SSN, Beverly Laurent, and Elaine Weir and husband Ken; and care-giver, Christina Zelinsky. She was preceded in death by: her parents, son-in-law, Doug Vollbrecht, infant granddaughter, Kimberly Vollbrecht, infant great-grandson Jesse Mahler and sister Ruth Phillips.

Mass of Christian Burial took place on Monday, Oct. 18, 11 a.m., at the historic St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael. Visitation was on Sunday from 4-8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Rosary Service at the Peterson Chapel in St. Michael. Visitation continued on Monday one hour prior to the service at the church. Fr. Nathaniel Meyers was the Celebrant. Interment followed in the Hanover City Cemetery. After the interment, the family invited guests to join them for a luncheon at the new St. Michael Catholic Church hall.

The Peterson Chapel of St. Michael assisted the family with arrangements.

Keith Nelson, 58

Keith W. Nelson, 58, of Shakopee, formerly of Norwood, died on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010 at the Friendship Manor Health Care Center in Shakopee.

He was born July 1, 1952 to Adrian and Gladys (Salonek) Nelson in Watertown.

Keith was preceded in death by: his father, Adrian Nelson; a brother, Scott Nelson; grandparents, Thomas and Margaret Salonek, and Martha and Fred Nelson; and aunts and uncles, Evelyn and Philmor Bjork, Pearl and John Williver, Buella and Bill Wilhite, Curtis Nelson, Clifford and Eleanor Nelson, and Alice Nelson.

He is survived by: his mother, Gladys Nelson; siblings and spouses, Dwight and Kathy Nelson, Bonnie Nelson, Bruce and Terry Nelson, Gary Nelson, Shelly and Jim Schultz, Jody and Darell Cermak, and Brian Nelson; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial took place on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 10 a.m., at the Church of St. Mary in Waverly. Visitation was on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano. Visitation continued for one hour prior to services in the Parish Center at St. Mary's. Rev. Timothy Cloutier officiated at the Mass, with interment in the church cemetery.

Casket bearers were: Dwight Nelson, Bruce Nelson, Bonnie Nelson, Shelly Schultz, Demetrius Carson, and Troy Wagener.

John (Jack) Pribyl, 91

John (Jack) Anthony Pribyl, age 91, formerly of Maple Lake, died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Centennial Villa Assisted Living in Annandale.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 21, at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Father Michael Izen and Deacon Mike Medley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20, and 9-10 a.m. Thursday, October 21, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m., Wednesday. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.

John (Jack) Anthony Pribyl was born June 9, 1919, in Oakland, CA to Frank and Elizabeth (Lammerding) Pribyl. He grew up just east of Maple Lake, farming with his dad, graduating in 1937 from Maple Lake High School. From 1941-1945 he worked in Portland, Oregon at Kaiser Shipyards. He married Doris Elsenpeter on June 15, 1943 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake. Jack and his brother Bud owned and operated Pribyl Brothers Garage and Standard Oil Service in Maple Lake from 1947 to 1951. Jack and Morry Eggena ran the garage and sold Kaiser-Frazer cars, while Bud operated the oil service. Jack worked in the tooling department of Minneapolis Moline and then Tel-E-Lect from 1951 to 1979. He started fixing televisions as a hobby in 1952 and did it full-time after 1979.

Jack was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church of Maple Lake, the Knights of Columbus, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Jack and Doris enjoyed dancing, traveling and being with their children and grandchildren. Jack was also lucky enough to enjoy his great-grandchildren.

Jack is survived by his children, John and Barb of Crosslake, George of Golden Valley, Marie and Randy Mavencamp of Maple Lake, Margi Kronquist of Maple Lake, Fred and Nancy of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Ted and Angie of Maple Lake; grandchildren, Chad, Susie, Jeff, Ted, Jeani, Tommy, Michael, Kim, Greg, Brenda, Ryan, Jennifer and Mary; great-grandchildren, Ella, Anna, Jack, Drew, Carly, Emily, Johnmark, Eileen, Larson, Isabelle, and McKenna; and sister, Mary Gruenhagen of Owatonna, MN. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Doris; infant daughter, Susan; infant great-granddaughter Kesha Marie; son-in-law Kevin Kronquist, and brothers, Vernon, Ray and Bud.

Pallbearers will be Jack's grandchildren. Music will be provided by Marge Pavlik, Randy Mavencamp, and the Resurrection Choir.

Arrangements were entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake.

Katherine Wingard, 32

Katherine Joy Wingard (nee Braun), age 32 of Minneapolis, was born on December 30, 1977 in Princeton Minnesota. Katie died on Monday, September 13, 2010 at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis of Cardiac Arrest following a long and courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis when she acquired Pneumonia.

Katie leaves behind her husband Matthew Robert Wingard. They were married on January 12, 2002 at Fort Snelling in St. Paul Minnesota. She is survived by their two daughters Allie Joy (1yr) and Naomi Rose (2months). Katie was preceded in death by her mother Brenda Joy Braun and paternal grandfather James Charles Braun.

Katie was the daughter of Stephen and Kim Braun, sister to Amie Braun, April (Joseph) Marzullo, and Laura Braun. She was the daughter-in-law of Mark and Kay Wingard, sister-in-law Corrie (Samuel) Olson. Katie is also survived by her grandparents, great aunts, and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, soon to be niece, and so many more friends from all over the world.

There are no words to express the depth of our pain, or the fullness of her beauty.

A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 2 pm at the North Heights Lutheran Church Roseville Campus 2701 Rice Street Roseville, Minnesota 55113. Memorial Visitation was also on Saturday from 12-2 pm at the church. Interment was in the St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery in Howard Lake. Cremation services were provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

Alexander and Andrew Workman, infant twins

Alexander James Workman and Andrew Douglas Workman, premature twins of Jeff and Sarah Workman of Maple Lake, passed away unexpectedly at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis on Friday, Sept. 10, 2010. They were born at the Buffalo Hospital on Sept. 9, 2010.

A private family service was held on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo.

Survivors include: parents, Jeff and Sara Workman of Maple Lake; four siblings, Payton, William, Lilly, and Winston; grandparents, James and Rosemarie Workman of Aiken, Minn. and Brian and Sherry Vennes of Maple Lake; and great-grandmother, Carol State of Cambridge, Minn.

The Peterson Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.

Esther Klemz, 98

Esther A. Klemz, age 98, of Buffalo passed away on Monday, Jan. 11, 2010 at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo.

Funeral services for Esther Klemz will be held on Thursday morning, Jan. 14, 11 a.m., at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Interment Lakeview Cemetery in Buffalo. A visitation will be held Thursday one hour prior to services at the church.

The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo is serving the family.
