Pearl Paumen

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at 10 a.m. at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Clearwater for Pearl R. Paumen, age 94 of Clearwater who died Sunday, February 15, 2004 at the Annandale Care Center in Annandale. Very Reverend Jacob Yali will officiate. Burial will be in St. Luke's Parish Cemetery, Clearwater.
Friends called from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home, Clearwater. The St. Luke's Christian Women will pray a rosary at 6:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home in Clearwater.
Pearl was born on November 22, 1909 in South Haven, Minnesota to Ulysses and Rosa (Nelson) Foster. She married Joseph F. Paumen on October 7, 1931 in Maple Lake, Minnesota. The couple farmed in the Clearwater area for many years. Pearl has been a resident of the Annandale Care Center since 1991. She was a member of St. Luke's Parish and Christian Women.
Survivors include her son, Carlin Paumen and Carolyn Bolander of Chandler, Oklahoma; daughter, Jona Hale and her husband Robert of Stewartville; son-in-law, Roger Steinhaus of Clearwater; 13 grandchilren; 24 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 28, 1983; son, Cameron "CB" Paumen on June 3, 2001; daughter Sonja Steinhaus on September 2, 2003; two brothers; and two sisters.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements were by the Daniel Funeral Home, Clearwater.

Martha Schauer Schwanke

Martha Schauer Schwanke, age 79 and formerly of Fairhaven died Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at Park View Care Center.
Funeral services for Martha Schauer Schwanke will be held on Saturday, February 21 at 10 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fairhaven. The Reverend Gary Galchutt will officiate.
Interment Concordia Lutheran Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21 at the church one hour prior to services.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.

Clifford Soltau

Clifford J. Soltau, age 82, of Monticello passed away at his residence on Friday afternoon February 13, 2004. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church of Monticello with Fr. Tim Rudolphi officiating. Interment will be at St. Henry's Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral arrangements are with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.
Cliff was born on July 14, 1921 in Otsego Township to George and Irene (King) Soltau. He attended school in Monticello and graduated from Monticello High School. After serving in the US Navy during World War II, he returned to the Monticello area and was united in marriage to Norita "Rita" Barthel at St. Francis Church of Buffalo on May 20, 1948. For many years Cliff owned and operated Cliff's Auto Repair and later worked as a rural mail carrier in Monticello for eighteen years. He retired at the age of 61 years. Cliff had a lifelong involvement with baseball, beginning with playing the game and ending with managing several Youth Baseball, Junior Legion Baseball, and Town Team Baseball teams. He became a member of the Minnesota Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998.
He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, American Legion Post #260, Veterans of Foreign Wars Club of Monticello, Monticello Rod and Gun Club, and a past member of the Monticello Fire Department. Cliff enjoyed fishing with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing pool at the Monticello Senior Center. He loved gardening with his son Steve, and also liked hunting and playing horseshoes.
Cliff is survived by his wife, Rita; sons Steve (Karen) of Monticello, Scott (Jeannie) of Big Lake; daughters Patricia (Tahir) Khan of Chanhassen, Shelley (Peter) Osowski of Chanhassen; 10 grandchildren; and brother Clarence of Clovis, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Ruth and Esther; and brother Don. Serving as Honorary Casketbearers will be Nicole Osowski, Yasmin Khan, Aaron Soltau, Nathan Soltau, and Ryan Soltau. Casketbearers will be Jeff Soltau, Dale Osowski, Jamel Khan, Chris Pauly, Holly Soltau, and Jackie Pauly.

Helen Peterson

Helen (Mrs. Willard) V. Peterson, 95 of Buffalo died on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at the Park View Care Center in Buffalo.
Helen was born the daughter of August and Johanna Granstrom on February 18, 1909 in Midale, Saskatchewan.
Helen graduated from North High School in Minneapolis. Helen was united in marriage to Willard Peterson on November 18, 1938 in South Dakota. She was employed as a bookkeeper by Commercial Credit Company, Bud Johnson Auto Dealer, Walter Johnson (Attorney) and Peterson Auto Sales.
Helen was very appreciative of the love and kindness extended by her nephew Steve Peterson and his wife Kathy.
Survived by daughter Susan Geiersbach of Westmont, IL; grandchildren Frederik (Carolyn Burger) Geiersbach of Los Angeles, CA and Phillip (Pamela) Geiersbach of Holland, MI; great grandchildren Delany, Katrina and Ian; sister Lillian Miller of Sacramento, CA; sisters-in-law Evelyn Granstrom of Anoka and Connie Granstrom of Coon Rapids; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Willard Peterson; brothers Phillip, Elmer, Harry, Roy, John and Albin Granstrom; sisters-in-law Clara, Kathryn and Ila Granstrom; brother-in-law William Miller.
Memorial service was held on Saturday, April 3, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Officiating was Pastor John Folkerds.
Visitation was held on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Arrangements were with the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.

Dale Korkowski

Dale B. "Korky" Korkowski, 60 of Watertown died on Sunday, March 28, 2004 at his home in Hollywood Township. He was born February 11, 1944 to Carl and Frances (Pischke) Korkowski in Brandon, Minnesota.
Korky attended Seven Dollars parochial school in Millerville before going on to the Brandon High School, which he graduated from in 1962. Upon graduation Korky entered Dunwoody Technical College where he earned a degree in machining. His first job was at Special Parts. From there he went on to work for Remele. Dale's specialty was delicate parts. He took his expertise and started his own shop from home, Machine Enterprise, which specialized in making these very intricate and detailed parts.
Dale enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Dale enjoyed competition, whether it was playing cribbage, darts, cards, bowling, golfing or fishing. He was in for the competition and camaraderie. Old time music and polka dancing were another passion for Korky. If you would ask him what his favorite thing of all would be, the answer would be machining.
Dale is preceded in death by his father, Carl Korkowski, and his brother Clement Korkowski. He is survived by his fiancee Lucy Lilienthal; children Keith Korkowski and special friend Tamona Hofmeister, Jeff and Angie Korkowski, Sherry and Scott Monson, and Laura and Corey Knott; stepsons Rick and Teresa Dostal, and Ed and Kari Dostal; grandchildren Tyler, Kendra and Erin Korkowski, Kyle, Kayla and Kelsey Korkowski, Tyler, Ameilia and baby Monson and baby Knott; step grandchildren Dazz, Alex, and Olivia Dostal, Eric and Kayla Dostal; mother Frances Korkowski; siblings Joyce Navratil, Leon and Rosemary Korkowski, Jane and Ron Kozel, Judy Collett, Kenny and Georgette Korkowski, JoAnn Reynolds and special friend Jeff Reed, Linus and Rosellen Korkowski, Wayne and Shirley Korkowski, Lynette and Arnold Gelling, Mary Lou Green, Marjorie and Frank Nielsen, Carol and Jerry Smith, Anita and Wayne Setter, Joe Korkowski and special friend Barb Zupan, and Cindy and John Haffner.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, April 1, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown. Visitation was held on Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Iten's Watertown Funeral Home, and continued on Thursday for 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Reverend Frank Wampach officiated with interment in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeff Korkowski, Keith Korkowski, Scott Monson, Corey Knott, Tyler Humbert, Kyle Korkowski, Dan Gindele, Tom Fink, Jim Pierson and Dave Boehne.
Arrangements by the Iten's Watertown Funeral Home.

Esther Aurentz

Esther R. Aurentz, 90 of Delano died on Sunday, April 4, 2004 at Park View Care Center in Buffalo. She was born January 19, 1914 to Mageric and Amanda (Diery) Morin in Corcoran, Minnesota.
Esther is preceded in death by her husband Kelly; son Robert and two grandsons Garry Sersch and Aaron Anderson. She is survived by her sons Jerry and Barb Aurentz and Ron and Jan Aurentz; daughters Tootsie Sersch and Patty Anderson; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; sister Mildred Lofts and brother Chester Morin.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Delano. Reverend Michael Miller officiated with music provided by Margaret Groskreutz, organist, Gail Sinkel, soloist and the Resurrection Choir. Visitation was held Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation continued on Wednesday for 1 hour prior to services at the church. Interment at the church cemetery.
Casket bearers were Brian Aurentz, Troy Aurentz, Jason Aurentz, Kelly Brynstad, Kevin Anderson and Tyler Anderson.

Jack Robinson

Jack Wayne Robinson, 52 of Delano, born Feb. 5, 1952, passed away April 5, 2004.
Our beloved Jack is survived by his wife Jean; children Jack Jr., Daniel, David, Jaime, and Jason; grandchildren Jaina, Austin and Mikhaila; parents Charles and Jean; brothers Michael, Bruce, Chuck, Dan; sisters Roxanne, Janelle, Barbara, Suzanne and Beth.
He had a lifelong devotion to animals, working as a manager of large horse ranches.
Jack loved people, loved horses, loved to have fun, and loved to laugh. But most of all, Jack loved the Lord and we look forward to the day when we'll see him again.
A celebration service is planned for Friday, April 9, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Huber Funeral Home Chapel, 16394 Glory Lane, Eden Prairie (1/2 mile S. of Hwy. 5 on Eden Prairie Rd.). Visitation Thursday, 5-8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to service. Interment Chanhassen Pioneer Cemetery, Chanhassen.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to family.

William Singer

William J. Singer, 70 of St. Michael and formerly of rural Buffalo ended his 4 month struggle with leukemia early Friday, April 2, 2004 with his loving family at his side.
He was born on May 2, 1933 in Pine City, Minnesota the son of Joseph and Mary Ellen Caroon Singer.
He honorably served his country in The Korean War from 1953-1955.
On July 28, 1956 William Singer and Marlene Oscarson were joined in holy marriage in Bernadotte, Minnesota. God blessed their marriage with two children.
Bill was a longtime construction superintendent.
He belonged to Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo.
Survived by his loving wife of forty-seven years Marlene Singer; a son Scott (Nancy) Singer of Minnetonka; a daughter Pam (Den) Dixon of Rogers; grandchildren Brandon Dixon, Erin Dixon, Nic Singer and Alex Singer; a brother Joe Singer; sisters Bernice Niles, Ilene (George) Hejny, Delores Hejny, Donna (Arnie) Johnson, Marjory (Ray) Pavek, Evonne (Richard) Buckley, Carrie (Dick) Henderson and Rosemary Werner; mother-in-law Sylvia Oscarson; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents Joseph N. and Mary Ellen Singer; brothers Donald Mans and Ray Mans.
Funeral services for William Singer were held on Monday, April 5 at 1 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Pastor John Folkerds officiated and interment with military rites followed at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Diane Johnson was the organist for the funeral service and Carol Moore was the vocalist. "Amazing Grace" and "On Eagles' Wings" were sung as congregational hymns.
A visitation was held on Sunday, April 4 at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo from 3-6 p.m. A prayer service was held at 5 p.m.
Casket bearers were Dan Pobuda, Tim Mans, Greg Mans, Randy Mans, Ray Johnson and Ray Flygare.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.

Neil Shurson

Neil H. Shurson, 65 of Sartell died Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at the V.A. Hospital in Minneapolis.
He was born on September 16, 1938 in Erskine, Minnesota the son of Harold and Marie Mikkelson Shurson.
Neil was a longtime dispatcher for Yellow Cab Company.
Preceded in death by his parents Harold and Marie Shurson; sisters Evon and Ione Shurson.
Survived by longtime friend JoAnne; son Douglas (Doreen) Shurson; daughters Darcee (Tyke) Weege and Denise Shurson; many grandchildren, great grandchildren; a great friend Dennis; other friends and relatives.
A Memorial Service for Neil Shurson was held on Monday, April 5 at the Peterson Chapel St. Michael - Albertville Funeral Home.
A visitation was held on Monday morning, April 5 one hour prior to the service.
Memorials are preferred.
The Peterson Chapel St. Michael - Albertville Funeral Home served the family.
