Dale Moen

Dale Harold Moen, age 65, of St. Michael died Monday, March 14, 2005 at his residence.
He was born on June 17, 1939 in Blackduck, Minnesota the son of Alton and Lucille Weisert Moen.
Dale honorably served his country in the United States Navy from December 17, 1956 until April 26, 1960. During that time, he was a crew member of the USS Princeton.
He was formerly employed by Chrysler Corporation for thirteen years and later served the State of Minnesota as an OSHA Inspector.
Dale was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover. He also belonged to the Hanover Lions Club and V.F.W. Post #5973 in St. Michael.
Survived by a son: Brian E. Moen of Big Lake; former wife and best friend: Donna Hanson of Albertville; step children: Donald (Lynn) Eberle of St. Michael and Sue Eberle of Chanhasssen; grandchildren: Jill Toppari, Desirae Eberle, Cody Moen and Kelsey Moen; a great grandchild: D.J. Moench; a brother: Jim Moen fo Wahkon and a sister: Arlene Folsom of Richfield; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by wife: Carole, a granddaughter: Natalie Lou Moen, a son: James R. Moen and by his parents: Alton and Lucille.
Funeral services for Dale Moen were held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 18 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover. Pastor Marlo Miller officiated and interment with military rites followed at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
Colleen Johnson was the organist for the funeral service. Congregational hymns were "Onward Christian Soldiers, " "How Great Thou Art, " "Amazing Grace" and "Lord, Dismiss Us with Thy Blessing."
Friends called on Thursday, March 17 from 4-8 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. A Prayer service was held at 7 p.m.
Honorary casketbearers were: Marvin Bursch, Darrell Schrade, Joe Williams, Dick Swanson, Larry Gordon, Lyle Goskey, Jerome Skie, Mike Dale, Frank Androff and Bob Bixa.
Casketbearers were: John Salk, Daniel Folsom, Eric Moen, Jared Johnson, Dan Kaldun and Rick Tappi.
The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home served the family.

Stella Kilian

Stella Marie Kilian, age 90, of St. Michael died Friday, March 11, 2005 at Park View Care Center in Buffalo.
She was born on January 16, 1915 the daughter of Alphonse and Adiana Stament Cardinal.
On April 26, 1933 Stella M. Cardinal and Leon H. Kilian were joined in holy marriage at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dayton. God blessed their marriage with eight children.
For many years, Stella was the bookkeeper for Kilian Electric. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, cooking, music and photography. She was a faithful member of St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.
Survived by children: Marvin "Buddy" (Anne) Kilian of St. Michael, Maurice "Ditto" Kilian of Oacoma, South Dakota, Paul "Archie" (Audrey) Kilian of St. Michael, Shirley (Roger) Loftman of Peoria, Arizona, Robert "Bob" "Daisy" (Charlotte) Kilian of St. Michael, Jacob "Jack" (Terry) Kilian of Buffalo, James "Jim" (Kristi) Kilian of Crosby and Cynthia "Cindy" Kilian of St. Michael; daugther-in-law: Coleen Kilian of St. Michael; thirty-five grandchildren; sixty great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; a brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by husband of sixty nine years: Leon J. Kilian, a granddaughter: Julie Loftman, a grandson: Shawn Kilian, her parents: Alphonse and Adiana Cardinal, brothers: Fred and Lawrence Cardinal and by a sister: Mary Daluge.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Stella Kilian was held at 6 p.m. Monday, March 14 at the Church of St. Michael in St. Michael. Father Leonard Siebenaler was the celebrant. Interment at St. Michael Cemetery.
The vocalists for the Mass were Molly Lindenfelser and Bill Loese.
Friends called at the Church on Monday, March 14 from 3-6 p.m.
Casketbearers were Stella's six sons.

Teresa Gebert

Teresa Pearl Gebert, age 51, of Rogers, died Tuesday March 15, 2005 at her residence.
She was born on January 7, 1954 in Wadena, Minnesota the daughter of Marvin and Seretha Snook Butterfield.
Teresa graduated from Sebeka High School in 1972 and later attended college to become a seamstress.
She formerly was employed as a caregiver to the mentally handicapped at The Jefferson House in Wadena.
Survived by children: Shannon (Doug) Raasch and Audrey Gebert all of Otsego, Cynthia Gebert of Verndale, Trish Shamp of Rogers, Joseph (Krista) Gebert of Cambridge and Geana (Jason) Babler of Rogers; 8 grandchildren and one due in September; father Marvin (Ione) Butterfield of Monticello; brothers and sisters: Bob, Gary, Michael, and Jim Butterfield all of Minneapolis, Patricia (Barry) Luedtke of Princeton, Kathy Line of Anoka, Cheryl Threkeld and Mary Butterfield both of Monticello; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by mother Seretha and a son, Jonathan.
A Memorial Service for Teresa Gebert was held on Sunday, March 20 at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. Pastor Robert Mortvedt officiated. Burton Tappe of First Missionary Church in Wadena also spoke.
Lorraine Wolff was the organist for the service.
Friends greeted the family on Sunday, March 20 one hour prior to the Memorial Service at the funeral home.
A spring interment will be held at Inman Cemetery in rural Henning, Minnesota, Wadena County.
Honorary bearers were: Jonathan Gebert, Bobby Gebert, Joe Gebert, Barry Luedtke, Doug Raasch and Jason Babler.

Daryl Adair

Daryl R. Adair, 19 year old resident of Buffalo, Minn., died Saturday, March 19, 2005. Services will be held at a later date.
Daryl Robert Adair was born on August 22, 1985 in St. Louis Park, Minn. to Steven and Nancy (Rainwater) Adair. He was a 2004 graduate of Buffalo High School and was currently attending North Hennepin Community College.
Survivors include his parents, Steven and Nancy Adair of Buffalo; brothers: Alphonse (Andrea) Adair of Roseville, and Christopher (Krystal) Adair of Buffalo; grandmother, Reta Britt of Junction City, Kansas.
The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo served the family.

Jerome Klaers

Jerome Arnold "Jerry" Klaers, age 73 of Loretto, passed away peacefully at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Marge of Loretto; 2 daughters, Laurie (Jeff) Plzak of Loretto, Lindy (Jim) Nelson of Buffalo; 6 grandchildren, Curt, Chad, and Kevin Plzak, and Abby, Brita, and Elliot Nelson.
Jerry was the manager of the Loretto baseball team for 20 years. He was an active member and officer of the Loretto Baseball League and Athletic Club. He was the Bank Director of the State Bank of Loretto for 23 years, a member of the Loretto Fire Dept. for 39 years, and also served as the secretary/treasurer for many years. He was a charter member of the Loretto Lions, member of the Catholic Aid Society, SS. Peter and Paul Society, and he held numerous offices and positions at church. He was a distributor for Standard Oil/Amoco throughout his professional career. Above all, Jerry loved people, life, and his family the most.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, March 21, 2005 at 11 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto. Visitation was held on Sunday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano (300 N. 3rd St.) and one hour prior to Mass at Church. Interment was in the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Loretto, Minnesota. Frs. Brian Fier, Marvin Klaers, and Clem Zweber concelebrated at the services.

Raymond Berning

Raymond A. Berning, age 82 of St. Michael died peacefully at home on Sunday, March 13, 2005 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on August 19, 1922 in Frankfort Township, the son of Marcus and Theresa (Kasper) Berning.
On May 21, 1947 Raymond was joined in Holy Marriage to Agnes A. Weber at the Church of St. Walburga in Fletcher, Minn. God blessed their marriage with eleven children.
Ray farmed on the east side of Pelican Lake in Frankfort Township from 1947 until 1974. He was employed by Offutt Potato Farms in Becker, Minn. and then the Wright County Civic Center in Buffalo, Minn. In the final years of his employment, he and Agnes managed the civic center. He was said to be one of best ice groomers during his time there.
Ray also spent time working at the Sauk Rapids ice arena prior to his retirement. After his retirement, he delivered papers for the Star Tribune, starting with a Saturday and Sunday route and then adding a weekly route.
One of Ray's passions was going on daily rides to see the countryside, the farm fields, and to get an ice cream cone. He enjoyed his travels out to Oregon to visit his sister and her family. He also enjoyed going fishing with family and friends. Raymond was a lifelong member of the Church of St. Michael.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Agnes A. Berning (nee Weber); children and spouses: Monica (Jack) Mueller, Diane Berning, Linda (Hank) Van Erp, Carol Frenz, Allen (Nancy) Berning, Joan (Dic) Danielson, Paul (Kim) Berning, Peter (Lynn) Berning, Larry (Patty) Berning, Julie Berning and Dan (Sharon) Berning; twenty grandchildren; a great grandchild; a sister: Doris Lee; brothers: Jerome Berning, Joe (Delores) Berning and Jim (Mary) Berning; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by son-in-law: Mark Frenz; parents: Marcus and Teresa Berning, and by two sisters: Evelyn Stupfel and Anita Berning; two brothers-in-law: Robert J. Lee and Norbert Stupfel.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond A. Berning was held on Thursday, March 17, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Michael in St. Michael. Father Leonard Siebenaler was the celebrant and Father Michael Becker the concelebrant.
Interment was at the St. Michael Cemetery.
Friends called at the church on Wednesday, March 16, from 4-8 p.m. A prayer service was held at 8 p.m.
Honorary casketbearers were: Brian Berning and 2nd Lt. Jacob Frenz, USMC. Casketbearers were: Steve Berning, Aaron Berning, Paul Stupfel, Keith Weber, Mike Berning, Dennis Berning, David Lee, and Ron Weber.
The Peterson Chapel, St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home served the family.

Leland Fehn

Leland Peter Fehn, 66, of Laporte, Minn. and Lakeview, Arkansas passed away Friday, March 4, 2005 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas due to a motorcycle accident.
He was born on February 15, 1939 to Mathias J. and Marie (Schomer) Fehn in Minneapolis. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army at Korea.
Lee married Irene Spike on February 23, 1963. They made their homes in Rockford, Waverly, Buffalo and Annandale, and later during retirement in Laporte, MN and Lakeview, AR. He worked as a machinist in the aerospace industry, and he farmed for several years. He enjoyed motorcycling, four-wheeling, hunting and fishing. He was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church in Laporte.
He was survived by: his wife, Irene, and their six children, Jeff (Terri) Fehn of Faribault, Randy (Sandra) Fehn of Annandale, Colin (Jeanne) Fehn of Monticello, Angie (Paul) Sandelin of Pequot Lakes, Pam Fehn and Katrina Fehn of Brainerd; eight granddaughters and eight grandsons; three sisters, Marlene (Richard) Barren, Sandra and Theresa (David) Pray; mother-in-law Laura Spike; four brothers-in-law, Myron (Clarice) Spike, Paul Spike, Jerome (Kathy) Spike, David (Mary) Spike; seven sisters-in-law, Myrna Hell, Judy (Kenny) Kalway, Jeanne (Dan) Bosen, Emily Heins, Mary (Robert) Nowak, Ramona (Steve) Proctor, Wanda (Steve) Tussing and Gene Sorenson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale at 10 a.m. Visitation will be half-hour prior to mass. Luncheon will follow at French Lake Township Hall in French Lake.
Private burial will take place later this spring in Laporte, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by both parents, father-in-law Harold Spike, sister-in-law Michelle Sorenson, and godson Ricky Barren.

Maggie Weinzierl

Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, March 19, 2005 for Maggie A. Weinzierl age 94 of St. Bonifacius. She passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at Elim Home in Watertown. Maggie was born in Delano on March 10, 1911 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Theisen Nee Margaret Stumpf. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano, Minn.
Maggie was united in marriage to George J. (Butch) Weinzierl on Sept. 9, 1931 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano. She was preceded in death by her husband, George J. (Butch) Weinzierl; son-in-law, Donald Charland; parents, Mathias and Margaret Theisen; sisters: Barbara Theisen, Tillie Doerfler, and Jenny Lyrek; brothers: John, Frank and Andrew Theisen.
Maggie is survived by her children and spouses: Betty Charland of Eagen, Shirley and Bernie Meuwissen of Beaverton, Oregon, Marge and Bill Shinehouse of Belle Plain, Georgian and Bill Hilgers of Waconia, Mary and Phil Casperson of Backus, George Jr. (Butch) and Dorothy Weinzierl of Watertown, Gloria and Dale Thiesfeld of Norwood Young America, Ron Weinzierl of Shakopee, 22 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Maggie was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, St. Boniface Catholic Aid, St. Boniface Catholic Church and the St. Bonifacius Senior Citizens. Maggie enjoyed her family and family gatherings. She loved to cook, bake, sew, knit and work in her garden. She worked at Tonka Toys for many years.
The mass was held at 1 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in St. Bonifacius with Father Joseph Gallatin as celebrant of the Mass. Interment was at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
Casketbearers were her grandsons: Mike Meuwissen, David Meuwissen, Jim Meuwissen, Tony James, Scott Shinehouse, Jeff Hilgers, Scott Hilgers, Brad Casperson, Bruce Casperson, Brian Casperson, Todd Weinzierl, Erik Thiesfeld, Nathan Thiesfeld, Aaron Thiesfeld, and Trevor Weinzierl.
