Jane Hayes

Jane Carol Hayes, 66 of Buffalo died Sunday, May 22, 2005 at Buffalo Hospital.
She was born May 30, 1938 in Buffalo the daughter of Harvey and Leora Henneman Hayes.
Jane was baptized on September 9, 1948 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo. She was also instructed in the Lutheran catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith as an adult on May 19, 1977.
Jane was a charter worker and retiree from Functional Industries Incorporated.
She has resided at Sunrise Assisted Living since 1988.
Jane was a faithful, lifelong member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survived by sisters Yvonne (Duane) Winkler of Crystal, Kathy (Ron) Fenhaus of Austin, Texas and Nila (Doug) Fenhaus of Buffalo; nieces and nephews Donald (Marcie) Winkler and Brian (Rita) Winkler, Shonna Harden, Zachary and Beth Fenhaus; grand nephew Cameron Harden; aunt Leona Henneman of Buffalo; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents Harvey Hayes in 1962 and Leora Henneman Hayes in 1987.
Funeral services for Jane Hayes were held on Thursday, May 26 at 1 p.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Pastor James Disney officiated and interment followed at Lakeview Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Donald Winkler, Brian Winkler, Zachary Fenhaus, Dale Jans, Pastor Roger Klemz and Willis Miller.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.

Grace Tkalec

Grace L. Tkalec, 82 of Girard, OH passed away peacefully May 25, 2005 in Buffalo, Minn. from Alzheimer's. She is now reunited in heaven with her husband George who has waited for her 34 years.
Survived by son George and wife Audrey of Maple Lake; daughter Carol Shields of Clearwater, Fla.; granddaughters Ann and Grace; brother-in-law Steve Tkalec; sisters-in-law Francis Vadjunic, Eva (Paul) Briya and Lena Rau.
Preceded in death by her parents John and Amelia Rau; siblings John, Amelia, Dan and James Rau.
Memorial service and interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown, OH June 18, 2005, 10 a.m.

Michael Thompson

Michael L. Thompson, 27 of Buffalo, died Wednesday, May 25, 2005 as the result of an auto accident. A prayer service was held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 28 at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo with Pastor Becky Sogge officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Michael Lyle Thompson was born on October 10, 1977 in Torrance, California, the son of Michael Joseph and Sandra Kay (Potter) Thompson. His family moved to the Iron Range in Minnesota when he was six weeks old. He graduated from Hibbing High School in 1996. He then attended St. Cloud Technical College for two years. Following his schooling, he worked a number of different jobs in the construction field. He was most recently employed as a plumber with J Berd Mechanical Contractors, Inc. out of St. Cloud.
He was united in marriage to Amanda Onken on June 24, 2000. The couple made their home in St. Cloud before moving to Buffalo.
Michael enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He most enjoyed his children and the time he spent with them.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda; children Jordan Marie Thompson, Logan Michael Thompson and Riley Joseph Thompson of Buffalo; mother Sandy Potter Thompson (Randy Sainio) of Hibbing; sister Michelle Thompson of New Brighton; father-in-law Randall Onken of Browerville; mother-in-law Dena Onken of Brandon; brother-in-law Geoff Onken of Miltona; sister-in-law Michelle (Scott) Schaefer of Brandon and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father Michael Joseph Thompson and grandparents Delmar and Mary Ann Potter and Paul and Emma Thompson.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.

Hans Drotts

Hans V. Drotts, 96 of The Holmstad in Batavia, Illinois, formerly of Viking, Thief River Falls and Buffalo, Minnesota passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2005 at the Michealsen Health Center in Batavia. He was born July 5, 1909 in Viking, Minnesota, the son of Oscar and Hilda Drotts. He was united in marriage to Carrie E. (nee Buck) Drotts on October 9, 1940 in Moorhead, Minnesota.
He is survived by three daughters, Rhoda (Al) Fritsch of Aurora, IL, Ruby (Gary) Hovda of Rockford, IL and Lois Seashore of Maple Grove, MN; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Drotts of Minneapolis; one brother, Raymond Drotts of Viking, MN; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie; one son, Lester Drotts; two sisters, Hilma Drotts and Alma Drotts; and one brother Albert Drotts.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 25 at the Moss Family Funeral Home in Batavia. Graveside services will be held at the West Batavia Cemetery following the visitation hour. The Rev. Dan Anderson will officiate.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 25 at The Sanctuary Chapel of the Michealsen Health Center, 831 S. Batavia Ave. in Batavia.

Joe Schaufler

Joseph L. "Joe" Schaufler, 43 of Maple Lake, died Friday, November 18, 2005 at home.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, November 22 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Father Mark Huberty officiating. Burial followed in the parish cemetery. Friends called from 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There was a prayer service at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Joseph Leonard "Joe" Schaufler was born October 3, 1962 in Buffalo to Norbert J. and Marcella M. (Paumen) Schaufler. He graduated from Maple Lake High School in 1981 and married Becky Happe on October 23, 1982 in Maple Lake; the couple later divorced.
Joe married Annette K. Roden on August 12, 2000 in Monticello. He lived all his life in Maple Lake where he farmed and was a member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church. Joe loved farming, family and friends.
Joe is survived by his wife, Annette of Maple Lake; daughters, Kari, Amanda and Christina; son, Ryan all of Annandale; parents, Norbert and Marcella of Maple Lake; sisters, Jeanette (Bruce) Paulson of Maple Lake, Bev (Lonnie) Hendricks of Kimball and Barb (Troy) Becker of Maple Lake; brother, Steve of Maple Lake; and granddaughter, Astella Schaufler of Annandale.
Pallbearers were Eric and Joe Hendricks, Corey and Chris Paulson, Jim Wright and Dan Wurm. Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Scanlon, Dan Jost, Jim Scanlon, Beau Duick, Dennis Stuhr, Jerry Schaufler, Charlie Schaufler, Jim Schaufler, Adam Schaufler, Noel Zander, Jon Carlson, Dan Carlson, Randy Borell, Tom Ramsdell, Mark Miller and Aaron Jude.
Music for the funeral provided by St. Timothy's Resurrection Choir, Marge Pavlik, Alison Totz and Annette Gunnerson.
Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake.

Hank Potter

Hank A. Potter, born January 17, 1940. The Hank Potter Family relates the passing of our beloved husband, father, best friend. Hank passed away surrounded by all his family and many dear friends on November 20, 2005 at the age of 65 years.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Delilah; and his brother, Styke.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy of Maple Lake; his five loved children, 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter: Virginia (Dwight) Hawkinson of Annandale and their children, Mallory, Justyne and Brian; Karen (Ken) Hauwiller of Clearwater and their children Kayla, Brandon, Nick, Matt (Chris) and their daughter, Sierra; Cindy (Paul) Provo of Annandale and their children Devin, Cassie and Derek; Becky Potter (Rick Kent) of Cambridge; Hank (Pam) Potter of Cokato and their daughter, Sammy Jo; sister, Allone Potter of Maple Lake; brother Tom (Barb) Potter of Clearwater; and sister-in-law, Yvette Potter of Clearwater.
Visitation was from 4-8 Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday with a gathering of family and friends at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 23 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. Burial in St. Timothy's East Maple Lake Cemetery.

Bob Chilson

Robert Benjamin Chilson, 79 of Buffalo, died Sunday, November 13, 2005 at Glencoe Regional Health Services. He had been hospitalized for six days.
He was born in Beloit, Wisconsin on September 27, 1926 the son of Benjamin and Amelia Dretke Chilson. The Chilson family originally came to Beloit from Sharon, Wisconsin.
Robert was baptized on November 28, 1926 at Atonement Lutheran Church in Beloit. He was also instructed in the Lutheran catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith at Atonement Lutheran Church on May 25, 1941.
Bob graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1944. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the waning days of World War II.
Following World War II, Bob attended Carthage College in Carthage, Illinois and graduated from there in 1950. He later graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1951.
On June 11, 1949, Robert B. Chilson married Beverly J. Olson at Atonement Lutheran Church. The Reverend Frank A. Berg officiated at the wedding ceremony. Their marriage was blessed with two sons.
He became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in the State of Illinois in 1953. In 1954, Bob became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in the State of Wisconsin and was employed by The Ritter Funeral Home Incorporated in Milwaukee for the next several years.
Eventually, Robert and Beverly with their two young sons returned to their hometown, Beloit, and opened The Chilson Funeral Home in February of 1957.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Beloit was operated for the next nineteen years by Bob and Bev. It was sold in 1977.
Through the years as a Beloit funeral director, Bob provided a livery service for The Monroe Funeral Home in Delevan, Wisconsin and worked many years part-time for his dear friends Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Delehanty of Loves Park, Illinois.
Robert became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in the State of Minnesota in 1988 and joined his son and daughter-in-law in Buffalo, Minnesota. He was a very important part for the growth of the family's funeral establishments. He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer for over fifty years. Funeral service and helping people in their time of need was his passion!
Robert belonged to Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo and was a former faithful member of Atonement Lutheran Church. He served two terms on Atonement's Church Council.
He currently belonged to Buffalo's Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow recipient. Bob was a member of American Legion Post #407 in Winsted.
Survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years: Bev Chilson; sons: Kevin B. (Tami) Chilson of Winsted and Mark R. (Claire) Chilson of Centerville, Ohio; grandchildren: Ruth Anne, Daniel, Amelia, Genevieve "Gen" and Dahkota "Cody" Chilson and Benjamin and Sarah Chilson; step-grandchildren: Ryan, Allison and Corine Winkler; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Yvonne (Arthur) James of Beloit; five nephews, a niece, other relatives and many friends.
Bob especially loved his grandchildren!
Preceded in death by his father on March 28, 1963; his mother on December 23, 1975; a sister Kathryn Teumer; mother-in-law: Genevieve Olson Bone and by friend, college classmate and Pastor, David E. Archie.
Funeral services for Robert B. Chilson were held on Monday, November 21 at 1 p.m. at Atonement Lutheran Church in Beloit. The Reverend Tina Koenig Ray officiated and interment with military rites followed at East Lawn Cemetery.
A visitation was also held at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted on Saturday, November 19 from 1-4 p.m. An American Legion ritual was held at 3 p.m. A prayer service was held at 4 p.m. Pastor John P. Folkerds officiated. Marlene Mohwinkel was the organist at the prayer service and Rolf Mohwinkel sang "The Old Rugged Cross." Claire Chilson sang "The Lord's Prayer."
Casket bearers were Benjamin Chilson, Daniel Chilson, Ryan Winkler, Milan Zumach, George "Mike" Leisher and Duane Ottow.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.

Loretta Sherman

Loretta A. Sherman, age 89, of Winsted died Tues- day, November 8, 2005 at St. Mary's Care Center.
She was born on July 16, 1916 in Hollywood Town- ship, Carver County the daughter of Martin and Nellie M. Merritt Sherman.
Loretta was a faithful, longtime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.
Survived by sisters: Esther Rivers of Surprise, AZ and Fay Carlson of Waco- nia; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Sherman; brothers, Richard and Edmond Sherman; sisters, Margaret Kallenbach, Bertha Hauwiller and Verna "Bub" Moy, stepsisters and step- brothers, Mildred Hoag- lund, Mary Skoog, Made- line Cofer, Vernard Gilmer, Russell Gilmer and Gunella Fowler.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Loretta Sherman was held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 11 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Wins- ted. Father Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
A visitation was held on Thursday, November 10, from 4-7 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A Rosary was held at 7 p.m.
Casket Bearers were Robert and Thomas Hauwiller, Alan and James Moy, Leon and Kenneth Rivers.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
