Barbara Gay (Baker) Olson

Barbara G. Olson, age 79, of Annandale, formerly of Excelsior, died Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Friends may call one hour prior to services 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the Annandale Evangelical Free Church. Pastor Kevin Groven will officiate. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Woodside Cemetery, Shorewood.
Barbara Gay Olson was born on August 20, 1932 in Jordan to Bartholomew and Bernice (Hudlow) Baker. She graduated from Excelsior High School with the class of 1950. On February 3, 1954, Barb was united in marriage to Olaf L. Olson in Mason City, IA. Together, they owned and operated Qik & Ezy Grocery in Excelsior. In addition to her 33 years of work at Qik & Ezy, Barb worked as a telephone operator at North West Bell, a bookkeeper at Pillsbury, and for 9 years she worked as a clerk at Marketplace in Annandale. Barb enjoyed fishing, working at the grocery store and spending time in the outdoors.
She is survived by her husband, Ole; sons Gary of Excelsior and Jeff of St. Bonifacious; brother Bart Baker & his spouse Wendy of Excelsior; grandchildren Jordan, Michael and Amber; and great grandchildren, Alayna, Lauryn and Dillon. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bart and Bernice and sister Donna Surroz.

Roger Howard Westphal

Roger "Butch" Westphal, age 83, of Albion Center entered into Eternal Life on Friday, January 16th, 2015. Butch was born March 1, 1931 in Howard Lake to Frederick and Mabel (Jestus) Westphal. Butch's mother passed away when he was 3 weeks old. He lived with relatives in Belle Plaine, MN until age 6 when he came back to live with his Dad and siblings in Howard Lake. He graduated from Howard Lake in 1949. Butch honorably served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
On September 10, 1955 he was united in marriage to Lois Engel at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. Butch and Lois were blessed with 51 years of marriage and 4 children before Lois's death in 2007. Butch and Lois were self employed and worked alongside each other at various retail businesses for many years in Aitkin, Howard Lake, Cokato and Albion Center. Butch also was employed as a Deputy Sheriff in Aitkin County and was a volunteer fireman for many years. He played for and managed the Howard Lake Orphans Baseball Team in his younger days. His last business venture prior to retirement was working at Harold's Shoe Repair in Little Canada, MN with his two sons.
In retirement he enjoyed building picnic tables and woodworking. Butch was a Charter Member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He enjoyed playing cards, gardening, visiting with people, nature and animals. He had a great sense of humor, a knack for making people feel comfortable, and knew when to add a witty remark or sarcasm. Butch made many new friendships in his final year at Cottagewood Assisted Living. Most of all Butch loved God and his family.
Butch was preceded in death by his wife Lois; son-in-law, Dan Jost; sister and brother-in-law, Eleanore and Gervase Sexton; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Shirley Westphal; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mel and Helen Engel.
He is survived by his children, Wendy Jost of Annandale, Wayne (Joy) Westphal of Vadnais Heights, Wanda (Mike) Gagnon of Waverly, and Wyatt of Vadnais Heights; 5 grandchildren, Andy (Christine) Gagnon, Penny Westphal, Luke (Amy) Gagnon, Kelly Westphal, and Jesse Westphal; 3 great grandchildren, Jace and Drew Gagnon, and Baby Gagnon expected anyday; brother and sister-in-law, Wilfred and Mary Westphal; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dale and Bonnie Engel and his beloved cat Fluff.
Funeral services for Butch will be held Friday, January 23rd, 11 am at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Maple Lake, visitation will begin at9 am prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Pallbearers are Andy, Luke, Christine, and Amy Gagnon, Penny, Kelly, and Jesse Westphal, and Bill Westphal.
Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Maple Lake.

Mae Ann (Lamere) Vollmer

Mae Ann Vollmer, age 90, of Annandale died Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Annandale Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2015 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake, with Fr. John Meyer as the Celebrant. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. Burial will be 10:05 a.m. Tuesday, January 27 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, assembly area 1. Memorials are preferred to Annandale Health and Community Services at the Annandale Care Center or North Memorial Hospice.
Mae Ann Vollmer was born September 28, 1924 to Joseph and Mary (Berube) Lamere in Stillwater. She grew up in Stillwater with two sisters and two brothers. Mae married the love of her life, James Vollmer, on October 12, 1946 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stillwater. They made Bayport, MN their home and were blessed with eight children. Upon retirement, they moved to McAllen, TX for 18 years, moving back to Minnesota in 2007 in order to be closer to family. Mae enjoyed playing cards and reading books. She was a great fan of the Minnesota Twins, Viking and Gophers, the Dallas Cowboys and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Mae is survived by her children Midge (Mark) Mohler, James Vollmer, Jr., Mary Jo Bruggeman, George (LeAnn) Vollmer, John Vollmer (Ken Itasaka), Paul (Nancy) Vollmer, Laurie (Mike) Hankee and Peter (LeAnn) Vollmer; 26 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sister Eva (Rudy) Marti; and sister-in-law Irene Lamere. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson Timothy Vollmer; great grandson Jameson Welling; son-in-law Daniel Bruggeman; daughter-in-law Maria Vollmer; sister Shirley Clark; and brothers Willard and Edwin Lamere.
Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.

George Einar Rasmussen

George E. Rasmussen, age 81, of South Haven died Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the V.A. Medical Center in St. Cloud.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale with Pastor Orval Wirkkala officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
George Einar Rasmussen was born September 12, 1933 in Duluth to Einar and Edna (Wright) Rasmussen. He graduated from high school in 1951 and attended the University of Georgia specializing in economics and commerce. George served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War; he was stationed in Colorado Springs. He worked as a credit manager at Montgomery Ward, a banker in St. Petersburg, FL and was a landlord. George enjoyed his pets and traveling across the world.
He is survived by a daughter Elizabeth Ellen. He is preceded in death by his parents, Einar & Edna Rasmussen and a sister Jane Riedel.
Elizabeth Wirkkala, Pat Schauer and Cheryl Jarl will provide the music for the service. Military Honors will be provided by the Ft. Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.

William Roy Gibbs

William Roy Gibbs, age 49, of South Haven, died Saturday December 7, 2013 at his home. He was born November 11, 1964 in Minneapolis to Roy and Violet (Peldo) Gibbs. William is survived by his sister Jean Johnson, brother George Jaquith, nephews Maxmillian Johnson and Theodore Jaquith and niece Anna Jaquith.
An open house to celebrate Willie’s life will take place on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the Huikko’s Entertainment Center from 2 to 5 pm. Huikko’s Entertainment Center is located at 1207 Highway 25 N; Buffalo, MN. You can enter on the West side of the building using the Bison Creek Bar & Dining entrance. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided. There will be no formal service. Memorials are preferred to Annandale Food Shelf, Humane Society of Wright County and Toys for Tots.

Susan JoAnne (Evenson) Williams

Sue Williams, age 52, of Annandale died Monday, November 3, 2014 as a result of an auto accident.
Funeral Services will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Annandale Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Dennis L. Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held 3-7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday, both at church.
Susan JoAnne Williams was born March 29, 1962 in Minneapolis to Robert and Gloria (Bordon) Evenson. She graduated from St. Louis Park High School with the Class of 1980 and went on to earn a degree in Fashion Merchandising from the Minneapolis School of Business. On October 4, 1986 Sue was united in marriage to Brian Williams at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mound. Sue worked as a teacher’s aid at Annandale Schools for the past 10 years and worked at Southbrook Golf Club for the past 8 years. She enjoyed her family time, spending time at the beach and taking vacations to Mexico. Sue was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Brian; children Brooke Williams of Annandale, Brittany (David) Baxley of South Haven and Blake Williams of Annandale; four grandchildren Colten and Brock Baxley, Aubree Salveson and Aeverie Erickson; parents Robert and Gloria Evenson of Mound; sister Nan (Bruce) Twaddle of Excelsior; and brother Steve (Debbie) Evenson of Plymouth.
Pallbearers will be Drew, John and Joe Twaddle and Erik Anderson. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.

Robert Alan Sanken

Robert “Bob” A. Sanken, age 74, of South Haven, formerly of Chaska, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014.
Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. Dave Nelson officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Oakland Cemetery, Hutchinson. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the church.
Robert Alan Sanken was born April 6, 1940 in Round Grove Township, McLeod County to Ruben and Martha (Witte) Sanken. As a young boy, Bob and his family moved to a farm near Biscay before moving in 1948 to their farm in Lynn Township. Bob attended and graduated from Hutchinson High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Bob began his 40+ year career as a heavy equipment mechanic. He worked as a mechanic for various companies, including General Motors and in various cities such as Minneapolis and Chicago. On August 13, 1966 Bob was united in marriage to Eva Joan Carlson at First Lutheran Church in Dassel, Minnesota. On January 18, 1977 they brought their daughter, Nikki, home from Korea. They made their home in Excelsior before moving to Chaska. Upon Bob and Eva Joan's retirement, they moved to their home in South Haven. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling. Above all, Bob treasured the time he was able to spend with his family, especially his three grandsons.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Nikki Sanken (Robert Small) of Buffalo; grandsons, Alexander, Zachary and Carson; granddaughter, Sophie; siblings, Patricia (Eugene) Otto of Hutchinson and Spencer (Shirley) Sanken of Plymouth; and nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Eva Joan and parents, Ruben and Martha.
Melissa Sanken will serve as the urnbearer. Music for the service will be provided by Orma Lou Jacobsma. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.

Elsie Selma (Uecker) Erickson

Elsie S. Erickson, age 94, of Annandale died Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Centennial Villa Memory Care Cottages in Annandale.
Memorial Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2014 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Middleville Township, Annandale with Rev. Lynn Machula officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
Elsie Selma Erickson was born May 3, 1920 in Albion Township at the family farm to William and Hedwig (Koepke) Uecker. She attended Middleville Parochial School at Bethlehem Lutheran Church; she eventually became a teacher at the school. On February 22, 1941, Elsie was united in marriage to Kenneth Erickson at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. During WWII, she worked as a welder at Kaiser Ship Yard in Vancouver, WA. Elsie and Kenneth owned and operated Ken & L.C. Steak House in Annandale. She was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Middleville Township where she served on the LWML. Elsie enjoyed doing needle point, quilting, snowmobiling, gardening, cooking and canning. She was always ready to make something for someone else.
She is survived by her daughters Joyce (Marc) Boon, Janet Erickson and Mary Jane (Jeff) Miller, all of Annandale; sons Bill (Debbie) of South Haven, Jim (Sharon) of South Haven and Chuck (Pam) of Jefferson, CO; daughter-in-law Jo Anne Erickson of Annandale; 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Bill & Hattie Uecker; husband Ken; son Kurt; great grandson Nicholas; brothers Bill, Ed and Marcus Uecker; and sisters Elma Paumen and Erna Olean.

Mary Ellen (Heiser) Scheiber

Mary Ellen Scheiber, age 75, of Maple Lake died surrounded by the love and care of her family on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Cottagewood Senior Community of Buffalo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. John Meyer as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Chatham Township. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday, both at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Mary Ellen Scheiber was born December 1, 1938 in Sauk City, Wisconsin to Leonard and Hilda (Gruber) Heiser. Mary grew up in Plain, WI where she graduated from high school. On October 29, 1960 Mary was united in marriage to Thomas "Jerry" Scheiber at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Plain, Wisconsin. Upon Jerry's honorable discharge from the service, they lived in Minneapolis for a bit before moving to Maple Lake where Mary resided until recently moving to the Cottagewood Senior Community in Buffalo. She worked for Cub Foods Buffalo for approximately 15 years. Mary was a member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church. She enjoyed needlepoint work, walking, baking, puzzles, music, watching Days of Our Lives along with football and hockey. Above all, Mary treasured the time she was able to spend with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Terry & Suzette of Annandale, Bob & Vicky of Faribault, and Ron & Lindsay of Buffalo; daughter-in-law, Mary Scheiber of Maple Lake; siblings and their spouses, Dick & Jean Heiser of Waunakee, WI, Charlene Dodge of Dodgeville, WI, Marge Attaway of Madison, WI, Lenny & Sharon Heiser of Waunakee, WI, and Calvin & Rae Marie Heiser of Madison, WI; 8 grandchildren, Nicole Scheiber, Kayla Elsenpeter, Michael Scheiber, Heather Berg, Kevin Scheiber, Morgan Scheiber, Mollie Scheiber, Elizabeth Scheiber; 3 great grandchildren, Emily, Lucas and Hunter; and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Jerry", son, Mike, brother, Marlyn, her parents, Leonard and Hilda Heiser, brother-in-law, Dick Dodge, and special friend, Warren Starry.
The pallbearers will be Mary's 8 grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Cindy Beerkircher, Sandy Larson and Michelle Attaway. Sarah Goelz and Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox will provide the music for the service.

Anabel Mary (Munstenteiger) Jude

Anabel M. Jude, age 88, of Maple Lake died Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta with her family at her side.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. John Meyer as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery, Maple Lake. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, both at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. Parish Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Anabel Mary Jude was born August 13, 1926 in Maple Lake Township, the eldest of seven children, to Ben and Isabel (Latour) Munstenteiger. She graduated from Maple Lake High School with the Class of 1943. On October 29, 1947, Anabel was united in marriage to Gregory Calvin Jude. Together, they farmed and raised six children. Anabel was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, Council of Catholic Women and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She loved and served her church in many ways, including singing with the Traditional and Resurrection Choirs, serving as a lector and as an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister. Anabel loved to sing, dance, travel, attend to her flowers, cook and to please many people with her angel food cakes.
She is survived by her children Gregory S. (Jane) Jude of Pine City, Jennifer (Jim) Mims of St. Paul, Dan (Katie) Jude of Burnsville, Susan Jude (Larry Babiracki) of Plymouth, Jeffrey Jude (fiancé Michal Morris) of Maple Lake and Julie (Alan) Hudek of Maple Lake; brothers Jim Munstenteiger of Maple Lake, Larry (Janet) Munstenteiger of Maple Lake, and Steve (Mary) Munstenteiger of Coon Rapids; sister Pat Erickson of Carmel, Indiana; 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Ben & Isabel Munstenteiger; husband Greg Jude; daughter-in-law Susan L. Jude; sister Rita Jude; and brother Joe Munstenteiger.
The Pallbearers for the service will be Pat, Ted, Cymon, Stuart, Troy and Todd Jude, Scott Mims and Nick Hudek. Sarah Goelz, Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox, Marge Pavlik and the Resurrection Choir will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.

Rodrick Ollie Burud

Rodrick "Rick" Ollie Burud, age 67 of Maple Lake, formerly of South Minneapolis, died on Friday, October 10, 2014 in his home surrounded by the love and care of his family.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. A Celebration of Life honoring Rick will follow on Sunday at his and Mary's residence. Graveside Services will held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery (Assembly Area #4) at 11:45 with military honors.
Rodrick Ollie Burud was born July 29, 1947 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Olai and VeraMae (Hauerwas) Burud. Rick grew up in South Minneapolis and graduated high school with the Central High class of 1965. Rick served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. While stationed in Korea, Rick worked as a cook. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, Rick attended school in Freemont, California. He returned to Minneapolis and worked for the Minneapolis Park Board for 15 years. He then worked several jobs as a cook, including Park Cafe in downtown Minneapolis. In 1995 Rick moved to Maple Lake and began working at Minnesota Meat Masters in Annandale. On September 23, 1995 Rick was united in marriage to Mary Murphy at Church of the Visitation in Minneapolis. Together, they made their home near Maple Lake.
Rick enjoyed cooking, gardening, wood working, singing and playing his guitar. He also liked to quiz people by asking them the capitals of the 50 states.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Maple Lake; children, Rodrick Burud Jr. "Ricky" of Hendricks, MN, Eric (Cheryl) Lee of Burnsville, Adam (Cassie) Lee of Clearwater, Trisha (Sergio) Burud of Savage, and Chris (Christie) Lee of Maple Grove; 13 grandchildren; siblings, Bruce (Georgene) Burud of Illinois, Gary (Cathy) Burud of Minneapolis, Jon Burud of Minnetonka, and Roger (Vicki) Burud of Champlin; many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends; and his beloved dog, Sunny. Rick is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Loreli, nephews, JT Burud and Kelly Becker and great nephew Ben Kopp.
Eric Lee, Chris Lee, Adam Lee, Ricky Burud, Tommy Burud, and Eric Jones will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
