Eickman, Paul
Paul Eickman, 85, Moses Lake, WA, died Thursday, December 30, 1999.
He was born March 17, 1914 in Trempealeau County, WI, to Paul and Martha (Kulas) Eichman. He Married Olive Oetken on June 17, 1943.
Paul is survived by his wife Olive; four sons, Dick (Lynda), Bob, Tim (Peggy), and Jim (Diane); two daughters, Sharon (Ron) Hanson and Jeanie Eickman; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, John (Genevieve) Eichman and Robert (Grace) Eickman; four sisters, Blanche Kulas and Doris Kujak, both of Trempealeau, Leona Chernetski of Menominee, MI, and Anna (Roman) Kujak of Fountain City, WI; two sisters-in-law, Marie Eichman of Trempealeau and Lucille Eickman of Menominee, MI; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were Monday, January 3 in Moses Lake, WA.
Grant his eternal rest, as he has now completed his journey of life back to God!
Smelser, Dorothy M.
Dorothy M. Smelser, 88, of Winona, died Sunday, January 2, 2000 at the Watkins Home.
She was born May 22, 1911 in Minneapolis, to Arleigh and Carrie (Harlan) Buckingham. She attended Minneapolis North High School. On September 25, 1937 she married G. Vernon Smelser in Milbank, SD. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1995.
She was a longtime member of Central Methodist Church in Winona. She was also active in Eastern Star, Pocahantas, U.C.T., and supported her husband, Vern, in many activities at the Senior Friendship Center when he was director. She was a true "stay at home" MOM. She was a person you could always count on for help (she had a difficult time saying no, especially if it was in support of her kids or her church). She was quiet and unassuming yet had an inner strength that overcame many of life's hurdles. She was always available for us and for that we thank her.
She is survived by five children; Keith (Leah Marie) Smelser, White Bear Lake, MN, Karen (Bruce) Edwards, Minnesota City, Pat Steneroden, St. Paul, MN, Darryl (Sue) Smelser, Rollingstone, MN, and David Smelser, Winona; fourteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son Kenneth, sisters Delores Baird and Doris Buckingham and brother Earl Buckingham.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 5 at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Mary Hurmence officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren Mark Edwards, Scott Meinke, Karsten Smelser, Karinna Smelser, Edward Smelser and Jeffrey Smelser and honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren Amy Smelser, Nicole Smelser and Rebecca Smelser.
Memorials may be directed to Central United Methodist Church.

Mundell, Gerald M. "Jerry"
Gerald M. "Jerry" Mundell, 53, of Saratoga, died Saturday, January 1, 2000 at Season's Hospice, Rochester, MN.
Jerry was born May 20, 1946 to Ed and Isabelle (Pinkham) Mundell in Rochester.
He was raised in Dover and attended school there. He then served in Vietnam. Upon returning, he ran several small businesses for ten years. He then became a full-time truck driver until 1999. He was a member of the St. Charles Moose Lodge.
He is survived by two daughters, Jody Mundell and Morgan Weldon Mundell both of St. Charles; one grandson, James Dean; two brothers, Ed Mundell of St. Charles and Jon (Kathy) Mundell of Viola; two sisters, Betty Blunt of Elgin and Mary Damn of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were Tuesday, January 4 at United Methodist Church in St. Charles with Rev. Sharon Johnson officiating.Burial was in Saratoga Cemetery.

Mueller, May
May Mueller, 80, Red Wing, MN, formerly of Winona, died Monday, January 3, 2000 at Fairview Red Wing Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Victor Mueller and son Kenneth Mueller of Red Wing; two daughters, Carolyn Larsen of Rawlins, WY and Becky Glandorf of Houston, TX; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Bodelson-Mann Funeral Home in Red Wing on Wednesday, January 5 from 5-7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at First Lutheran Church in Red Wing at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 6.
Forstrom, Priscilla L.
Priscilla L. Forstrom, 80, of 1069 West Howard St., died Tuesday, December 28, 1999 at her home.
She was born in Litchfield, MN on September 21, 1919 to Earnest and Virginia (Williams) Peters. On May 29, 1941 she married Everett L. Forstrom in Winona. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1984.
Priscilla was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where she is a former choir member, taught Sunday School and was a member of its St. Anne's Guild. She is a past president of the Association for Retarded Children (ARC).
Priscilla is survived by a son, Matthew (Christy) Forstrom, Wolfpoint, MT; four daughters, Gerri (Jimmie) Landon of Winona, Bonita (Tony) Hoyt, Houston, TX, Sondra (James) Marg, Cabot, AR, and Deborah Kay Forstrom of Winona; grandchildren, Erin, Alyson, Emily and Storianna Forstrom, Michael and David Landon, Jonathan, Rebecca, Jessica and David Hoyt, Christopher and Elizabeth Marg, Derek Forstrom, and Denise Forstrom Stuckey; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Camilla Thulin of Litchfield, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Danny, two sisters, Lois and Helen, and two brothers, James and Lloyd.
Funeral services were Monday, January 3 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Rev Ernest Harrelson officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Casketbearers were her grandsons, Michael and David Landon, Jonathan and David Hoyt, Christopher Marg and Derek Forstrom.
Memorials may be directed to Winona Area Hospice Services.

Morgan, Allyn S. (Steve) Jr.
Allyn S. (Steve) Morgan, Jr., died Monday, January 3, 2000 at St. Anne Hospice, Winona, where he has been a resident for the past six years.
A lifelong resident of Winona, he was born on May 31, 1913, to Allyn S. and Nora (Thompson) Morgan. His grandfather, S.W. Morgan founded the family jewelry business, Morgan's at 59 West Second Street in 1862. His father, Allyn S. Morgan, Sr. (Allyn), owned the business at 68 West Third Street from 1915 until 1955 when Steve purchased the business from his father. Steve operated the store from 1955 until 1978 when he sold the current business at 77 East Third Street to James Anderson.
Steve graduated from Winona High School and attended college at Rollins in Winter Park, FL. He married Jane Ramer of Winona in 1935 and joined his father in the jewelry business that year. Steve was a Registered Gemologist and a member of the American Gem Society.
He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and more recently of Central United Methodist Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was active in many local business and civic organizations including the Winona Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Merchant's Association, the Winona School Board, and the Winona Area Shrine Club. He shared his father's passion for motorcycles and was the founder and leader of the Winona Shrine Patrol.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey, who has been his tireless caregiver during his illness; two sons, Kent (Ann) Morgan of Sarasota, FL and Fred (Danne) Morgan, Winona; a daughter, Molly (John) Dudlak, Park Ridge, IL; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Jane (Ramer) Morgan in 1970; a third son, Allyn Stephen Morgan, III in 1982; his second wife, Ruth (Hintgen) Morgan in 1986; and a sister, Ruth (Morgan) Kabat in 1998.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 6, at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Mary Hurmence officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Alzheimers Foundation or to St. Anne Hospice, Winona.
