Laurine Martha Stephan, 99, died Sunday, January 27, 2002 at St. Anne Hospice.

Daley, Daniel J.
Daniel J. Daley, 61, a Lewiston, Minn. native, died Sunday, January 27, 2002 at District 1 Hospital Emergency Room in Faribault, Minn.
Dan was born April 12, 1940 in Rochester, Minn., to George P. and Helen (Welch) Daley. He has been handicapped since birth. Since the age of four he has lived in Faribault, currently at the EMSOCS Group Home.
Survivors include three brothers, Patrick (Donna) Daley, Michael (Sandy) Daley and Stephen (Margaret) Daley, all of Lewiston; stepmother, Alice Daley of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents and two brothers, Dennis and Bernard, preceded him in death.
Private family services were held with Rev. Peter Schuster of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston officiating. Burial was in St. Rose of Lima cemetery.

Harmon, Herbert Peter "Herb"
Herbert Peter "Herb" Harmon, 85, of Rt. 1, Utica, Minn., died Sunday, January 27, 2002 at his home.
Herb was born April 6, 1916 in Winona County to Peter and Edith (Harbaugh) Harmon. He served in the Army during World War II, as a searchlight operator and later in the infantry. He was stationed in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany.
Herb and Arline Shank were married
December 20, 1942 in Georgia. Following the war they farmed south of Altura and north of Dover before moving to Saratoga Township in 1950 to farm.
Herb enjoyed woodworking and traveling. He belonged to Faith Lutheran Church of St. Charles and was a lifetime member of the St. Charles Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Arline; two sons, Leroy (Pauline) Harmon of Coon Rapids and Craig Harmon of Utica; a daughter, Jeanette (Gerald) Thomas of Laporte, Colo; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gayle and a son, Gary.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, February 1, at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Ramie Bakken officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside cemetery, St. Charles. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at Hoff Funeral Home's - St. Charles Chapel, and one hour before services Friday at the church.

Grover, Lillian Agnes
Lillian Agnes Grover, 100, Galesville, Wis., died Monday, January 28, 2002 at Marinuka Manor in Galesville.
She was born November 11, 1901 in Grover Valley in the Town of Trempealeau, to Mason and Victoria (Perkins) Grover. She attended Maplewood Rural School and Galesville High School. She worked as a maid in Minneapolis and Redding, Cal. On November 1, 1941 she married
Arland Grover in Inglewood, Cal.
They later moved to International Falls, Minn. where they lived until Arland died in 1970. She returned to Galesville and lived in Grover Valley until moving to Lake View Court of Galesville. In October of 2000, she took up residence at Marinuka Manor.
Lillian loved gardening, raising flowers, birdwatching, oil painting, and playing cards and Scrabble.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women, was an Affiliate of the Society of Mary, a member of the North Centerville Homemakers and the card club. She had been an active member of the Garden of Eden Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, Marinuka Manor Auxiliary and the Bank of Galesville Golden Age Club.
Lillian is survived by seven nieces and nephews including: Barbara (Mike) Kleinschmidt of Winona, Gloria (Vincent) Wegner of Beaver Dam, Wis., Mason Grover, Mary (Tom) Ladwig, Stephen (Pamela) Grover, all of Galesville, Patricia (William)Eckert of Pardeeville, Wis., and Frank (Marietta) Grover, Omaha, Neb.; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Grover of Galesville; and twenty-one grand-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Robert, Frank and Henry Grover.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 1, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Galesville, with burial in Trempealeau Public cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 6-8 p.m. with a prayer service and rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Zwickey Funeral Home's Galesville Chapel.

Rieger, Eugene J.
Eugene J. Rieger, 68, of Farmington, Minn., died Monday, January 28, 2002 at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minn.
Eugene was born June 21, 1933 in Winona, the son of August and Margaret A. (Koenig) Rieger.
He graduated from Cotter High School and was in the Army for two years during the Korean Conflict. Later he graduated from Coyne Electrical School in Chicago and attended two other technical schools.
He worked at Univac and its various locations in the Twin Cities for 33 years, until his retirement.
He is survived by three sisters, Delores and Margaret of Winona, and Elizabeth (Julian) Hamerski of Charleston, Ill.; five nieces and a nephew.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, February 1, at 2 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Shawn T. Haremza officiating. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception cemetery, Wilson, Minn., where the American Legion will provide military honors.
Friends may call Friday from 1 p.m. until time of Mass at the church.

Stephen, Laurine Martha
Laurine Martha Stephan, 99, of Winona, died Sunday, January 27, 2002 at St. Anne Hospice, Winona.
Laurine was born November 18, 1902 in Lake City, Minn. to Henry and Mary (Buck) Heins. On January 1, 1930 she married
Reuben Michael Stephan in St. Paul. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1993.
Laurine was a school teacher for many years, teaching in country schools in the Elgin, Minn. area. She was a member of the Rose Society and enjoyed her garden very much. She was also an avid angler and she and Reuben lived along the river for over 50 years.
She is survived by two nieces, two nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and five sisters.
Friends may call at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home on Saturday, February 2, from 1-2 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.

Kleiber, Hilda
Hilda H. Kleiber, 89, passed away at Lake Winona Manor on Friday, February 15, 2002.
She was born August 28, 1912, in Winona County, to John and Martha Mueller Janzow. She married
Walter "Mike" Benck and they farmed near Bethany until Walter's death in 1961. She then moved to Winona and worked at the Winona Knitting Mills until her retirement.
She married
Clarence Kleiber in 1969. He preceded her in death in 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, and a stepdaughter, Phyllis Blakstad.
She was a member of Goodview Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She is survived by children, Mary (David) Bundy, Kenneth (Marlene) Benck, and Judith (Joe) Barnes; stepchildren, David (Lorna) Kleiber, Clayton Kleiber, Richard (Marcy) Kleiber, and Geraldine (Don) Erwin; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; eight step-grandchildren; thirteen step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Adeline Bonow, Martha Rupprecht and Margaret (Bud) Frey; a brother, John (Jo) Janzow; and sisters-in-law, Evelyn Janzow and Violet Janzow.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 19, at 11 a.m. at Goodview Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Tony Hansen officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran cemetery, Norton.
Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00-7:30 p.m. at Martin-Myhre Funeral Home and at the church on Tuesday after 10 a.m.

Kujak, Joseph A.
Joseph A. Kujak, 83, Pine Creek, Wis., died Friday, March 30, 2001 at the Grand View Center in Blair, Wis.
He was born April 10, 1917 in Pine Creek, Wis., to Andrew and Sophie (Scharmach) Kujak. He married
Dorothy Clark on April 23, 1939 in Pine Creek.
Joseph was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He had farmed, worked for Madison Silo, and later worked at Spittler Echo Lodge Orchard.
Joseph is survived by one son, David (Jacquelyne) Kujak of Dodge, Wis.; three daughters, Ruth (Paul) Jaszewski of Dodge, Karen (Frank) Radomski of Arcadia, Wis., and Mary (Roger) Spittler, Galesville, Wis.; three sisters, Florence Ebertowski of Winona, Sophie Smith of DeKalb, Ill., and Mildred Zabinski of Milwaukee, Wis.; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one son, Richard and one brother, Robert.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, April 3 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, with Rev. Robert Polcyn officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
