Lowell Cordes

Lowell Jon Cordes, 36, Ottertail, died Monday, April 12, 2004, at his home.

He was born Jan. 4, 1968, in Wadena, Minn., to Lyle and Betty (Oldenettel) Cordes. He grew up in the Ottertail area and attended school through the eighth grade at St. John's School, and continued through graduation at Henning High School.

Following graduation from high school, he began working for Lund Boats in New York Mills, Minn. He worked in the "missing parts department." He married Tina Koep on Feb. 28, 2001, in Las Vegas. He was a lover of snowmobiling and boating as well as Chevy trucks. He truly enjoyed spending time with his friends and listening to "his" music.

He is survived by his wife Tina, of Ottertail; his mother, Betty Cordes, Ottertail; a sister, Vanessa (Jon) Neels, Ottertail; brothers: Mark (Jan) Cordes, Ottertail, and Todd (Tanya) Cordes, of Mazeppa, Minn.; his maternal grandmother, Sam Oldenettel, Ottertail; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle, in 2002.

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church

Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church of Ottertail

Harold Olson

Harold Andrew Olson, 83, Fergus Falls, died Monday, April 12, 2004, at Lake Region Hospital of Fergus Falls.

He was born May 17, 1920, in Fergus Falls, toHarry C. and Nelsina (Johnson) Olson. He grew up in Fergus Falls, where he attended school and was a life long member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

After schooling, he worked in St. Paul for a roofing company. On Jan. 4, 1942, he joined the United States Army, stationed in the Pacific in the 41sty Infantry -116 Medics. Upon discharge on Sept. 14, 1945, he returned to Fergus Falls and worked for his father at "Harry C. Olson Auto Repair and Grease Company."

On March 1, 1947, he married Marilyn Robertson at the Federated Church of Fergus Falls. Later, he was the plant supervisor for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company. In 1968, he began working for the City of Fergus Falls, retiring in 1985.

He was the Scout Master for Troop No. 303 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and a life member of the VFW and DAV. Over the years, he loved to bowl, camp, square dance, and had a pet chipmunk. He enjoyed traveling, camping, and spending time with family at his cabin on Ottertail Lake. Harold and Marilyn also enjoyed spending 17 winters in Weslaco, TX.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; one daughter, Barbara Grenell, and her friend, Merle Fredrickson of Fergus Falls; two sons, Darryl (Karol) Olson, Fergus Falls, and Michael (Rita) Olson of Alexandria; nine grandchildren: Jason (Desiree) Grenell, Dianna (Jim White) Grenell, Nikki Olson, Kerri (Lorne) Hein, Brandon "BJ" Olson, Daniel Olson, Cassie Olson, Darrin Olson and Paige Olson; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Corrine Molter of Fergus Falls, and Adeline Seim of Spokane, Wash. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Marie Bullock; two infant sisters; a granddaughter, Brianna; and an infant grandson.

Visitation: Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church

Service: 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls

Clergy: Revs. Kate Bruns and Paul Nelson

Burial: Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Fergus Falls

Military Participation: Fergus Falls V.F.W and D.A.V.

Vivian Creasman

Vivian E. Creasman, 80, Fergus Falls, died Thursday, April 15, 2004, at Lake Region Hospital of Fergus Falls. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Olson Funeral Home Chapel, Fergus Falls, with Rev. Jon B. Olson officiating. Burial to follow at Bethlehem Lutheran cemetery, Fergus Falls.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Olson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls is in charge of arrangements.

Allen Toftely

Allen Toftely, 65, rural Frazee, died Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at his home on Big Toad Lake, near Frazee. Arrangements are pending with Larson Funeral Home.

Gertrude Draeger

Gertrude Draeger, 75, Breckenridge, formerly of Napoleon, N.D. and Battle Lake, Minn., died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at St. Francis Home of Breckenridge. Arrangements are pending with Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Wahpeton Chapel, Wahpeton, N.D. (formerly Frank Family Funeral Home).

Ida Meyer

Ida Meyer, 98, Perham, died April 19, 2004, at Perham Memorial Home. Memorial services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Corliss with Rev. Del Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery of rural Perham.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schoeneberger Funeral Home of Perham and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Madison McLean

Madison Eileen McLean was born and died Monday, April 12, 2004, at MeritCare Hospital of Fargo, N.D., the daughter of Cody McLean and Erica Osborne of Fargo, N.D.

Private Services will be held at a later date

Burial will be at West North Immanuel cemetery of rural Pelican Rapids. Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, is in charge of arrangements.

Erma Bergman

Erma Pauline Bergman, 92, Pelican Rapids, formerly of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Pelican Valley Nursing Home of Pelican Rapids.

She was born June 25, 1911, in Lamoure, N.D., to Jakob and Emma (Peterson) Isakson. She attended rural school near Lamoure. After schooling, she worked various jobs. In the early 1930's, she married William Strander, and they farmed in rural Fort Ransom, N.D. In the mid 1940's, she moved to Fargo and began working at St. John's Hospital.

On Nov. 15, 1948, she married Wilmer O. Bergman in Reno, Nev. The couple resided in Fergus Falls, and she worked as a domestic for various families. After retirement, she resided at the RiverBend Apartments for over 20 years. In Sept. 2000 she moved to the Pelican Valley Nursing Home in Pelican Rapids and has resided there since.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls and was active in many church activities. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, knitting and doing jigsaw puzzles. She loved her family, and they were very important to her.

She is survived by four children: Eileen Marwitz, Breckenridge, Virlyn (Delores) Strander, Pelican Rapids, Harold Bergman, Oakdale, and Marilyn Bergman of Federal Way, Wash.; seven grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; and two great-great granddaughters; one sister, Marie Cohn of San Francisco, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilmer, who died in 1980; two brothers, Edwin and Arnold Isakson; and one sister, Eleanor Wilson.

Visitation: 4 to 7 p. m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church

Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church of Fergus Falls

Burial: Trinity-Faith cemetery of Fergus Falls

Russell R. Anderson

Russell R. Anderson, 59, of rural Richville, Minn., died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 5, 1944, to Jacob W. and Elizabeth "Faye" (Craemer) Anderson in Wheeling, W.Va. He grew up and attended school in West Virginia.

He married Marcia Louise Bibeau and worked at the National Foundry in Minneapolis, Minn.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, country music, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia; three daughters, Lorraine (Mark) Meyer of Pierz, Minn., Lisa (James) Anderson-Vickstrom of Buckman, Minn., and Marcy (Daniel) Eckman of Pierz, Minn.; nine grandchildren: Jacob Meyer, Eric and Jennifer Vickstrom, Brandon and Andrew York, Alexander, Simon, Halen, and Madison Eckman; one brother, Donald W. Anderson of Lowry, Minn.; and three sisters: Sara R. Kress of Stow, OH, Doris (Jesse) Metheny of Terra Alta, W.Va., and Betty (Ronald) Barstow of St. Louis Park, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Elizabeth "Faye"; his step-father, Charles Gardener; three brothers: Ernest, William, and John Robert "Bob" Anderson; two sisters, Wilma Sines, and Patty Schillingberg; and one step-son Walter "John" Fischer.

Visitation: Two hours prior to the service at the funeral home

Service: 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home of Battle Lake

Clergy: Rev. Gladys Reynolds

Funeral Home: Glende-Nilson Funeral Home of Battle Lake

Dan True

Dan True, 67, Battle Lake, died Wednesday at Lake Region Hospital. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Eagle Lake Lutheran Church of rural Battle Lake with Rev. Don Peterson officiating.

Burial will be in the Eagle Lake Lutheran cemetery of rural Battle Lake. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home of Battle Lake and one hour prior to the service at the church.
