Peter Shipe
Peter Shipe, 68, of Ogema, Minn., died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Fargo, N.D.
Peter Anthony Shipe was born May 5, 1935, in rural Wahpeton, to Raymond and Viola (Bates) Shipe. He grew up and attended rural school and graduated from Wahpeton High School. He attended NDSCS and received his training in auto-body. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1956 to 1959.
He married
Rosaline Schmieg on Sept. 17, 1960, in Rosen, Minn. The couple lived in Wahpeton, Norcross, Minn., and Wheaton, Minn., before moving to Gwinner, N.D. He worked for 25 years for Melroe Manufacturing and for Raymac. They moved to Rothsay in 1990 and to Strawberry Lake, near Ogema, Minn. in 1998.
He loved to fish on Strawberry Lake and was very interested in their family history and the German language.
He is survived by his wife, Rosaline, of Ogema, Minn.; two sons and a daughter, Jan (Delaina) Shipe, their son Brody, Osceola, Wis.; Theresia (Jonathan) Rieger, their daughters, Paige and Brooke, Grand Forks, N.D.; and Elliott Shipe, Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers and two sisters: Margie Kaldor, Missoula, MT; Raymond (Joan) Shipe, Brandon, S.D.; Lila (Ron) Schaffer, Green Valley, Ariz.; and George (Linda) Shipe, Pocatello, ID.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Viola, and a brother-in-law, Howard Kaldor.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday with a 6 p.m. prayer service at the funeral home, Wahpeton, and one hour prior to the service at St. John's Church on Monday

Rudolph Larson
Rudolph "Rudy" Larson, 84, of Barrett, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at the ELEAH Medical Center in Elbow Lake.
He was born in Elbow Lake Township, Grant County, on Oct.14, 1919, to John and Alma (Estenson) Larson. On Aug. 10, 1941, he married
Marjorie Christianson, daughter of Lloyd and Myrtle Christianson.
He went into the U.S. Army on Dec. 2, 1941. Upon his discharge on Oct. 22, 1945, he returned to Elbow Lake, where he worked for Lampert Lumber Company, Rowdy's station for K.P.L., and eventually started his own heating and plumbing business. Upon his retirement from his own business, Rudy worked for Local Gas and Cenex.
He was always very active in the community and served as a volunteer fireman, VFW 5th District commander, as well as Commander of the local American Legion chapter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing, and spending time with family and friends. He was active with the local Senior Citizens and delivered meals for the Nutrition Center for many years. He cared deeply for his community and the many friends within.
He is survived by his wife, Marge, of Barrett; and three children, Gary (Elaine), of Columbia Heights, Lenny (Pam), of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Margaret (Dave) Parish, of Elk River; grandchildren, John (Cathy) Larson, Eric (Megan) Larson, Andrea Larson, Larry (Jennifer) Larson, Heather (Steve) Jorhan, and Tawnya (Matt) Stepaniak; great-grandchildren Dallas, Adrian, and Caeden; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Herbert, Julean, and Alton; and his sister, Rachel Hall.
Visitation: Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Elbow Lake

Doris Teberg
Doris Teberg, 79, of New York Mills, died Feb. 19, 2004, at her home. Funeral services will be held 11: 00 a.m. Mondayat at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in New York Mills.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Karvonen & Son Funeral Home in New York Mills, and will resume one hour prior to the funeral at church. In lieu of flowers memorial may be given to the Lakeland Hospice.
Beatrice Busker
Beatrice B. Busker, 89, of Fergus Falls, died peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at Lake Region Hospital, Fergus Falls.
She was born on Jan.19, 1915, in Yellow Medicine County, Echo, Minn., to Wilhelm and Minnie Macklanburg. She was baptized in Echo, and as a child, she moved with her family to the Deer Creek, Minn., area. She was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Deer Creek. She attended rural school in Otter Tail County and high school in Deer Creek.
On Dec. 5, 1935, she married
Howard Busker at Trinity Lutheran Church in Deer Creek. After their marriage, the couple settled in Wadena, Minn. In 1951, they moved to Fergus Falls until 1955, when they returned to Wadena.
She worked for many years for the Red Owl store and later worked at Wesley Hospital, retiring from there in 1987. Her memories of the staff and working with the patients at the hospital were always dear to her. She later moved to Fergus Falls and resided at the Paige Home until the time of her death.
Beatrice loved her family, and they were always her top priority. Family gatherings were of the utmost importance to her. She found much joy in attending functions of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a previous member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Wadena and was active in Evangelism there. Most recently, she was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls, participating in LWML and Bible Studies.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard; brother, Herbert Macklanburg; two sisters, Elvira Helmrichs and Leona Newell; and grandson, Tim Trosvig.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Selmer, Jr.) Trosvig, of Fergus Falls, and Janice (Bill) Ochoa, of Dover Delaware; grandchildren, Kevin Trosvig, of Edina, Minn., Karen (Alan) Barry, of Fergus Falls, Tom (Sandy) Harthan, of Deer Creek, Todd Harthan, Tami Harthan and Kim Ochoa, of Dover, Del.; eight great-grandchildren: Cory Trosvig, Heather, Beau and Marlee Barry, Tom and Tyler Harthan, Trevor Grimes and Erin Schockley; two sisters, Alida (Tom) Monson and Dorothy Busker; and two sisters-in-law, Rose Busker and Carole Macklanburg. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. with a 3 p.m. public prayer service at Olson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.

Erna Van Acker
Erna (Mrs. Walter) Van Acker, 83, formerly of rural Elbow Lake, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at the Henning Health Care Center.
Erna Martha (Fiebelkorn) Van Acker was born on January 9, 1921, in Barrett, Minn., to Walter and Bertha (Puchalski) Fiebelkorn. She graduated from Barrett High School. She was married
to Wesley Parson.
On Janurary 25, 1964, she married
Walter Van Acker in Elbow Lake. The couple lived on a farm east of Elbow Lake where Erna raised beautiful flowers she faithfully shared with St. Olaf's Catholic Church. In addition to her gardens, she also enjoyed cooking and baking. They belonged to St. Olaf's Catholic Church where Erna was a member of the Christian Mothers. Erna and Wally were currently living at the Henning Health Care Center.
Erna is survived by her husband Wally, son Jeffrey Parson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and sisters Dorothy (Orville) Hanse of Lomahauk, Wisconsin, and Lois (Donnie) Hanse of Plymouth, brothers Arnold Fiebelkorn of Trevor, Wis., and Donald Fiebelkorn of Kenosha, Wisconsin; and 11 nieces and 20 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Margaret Lentfer, Laura Satre, Darleen Fiebelkorn, and Harold Fiebelkorn.

Doris Teberg
Doris Teberg, 79, died on Feb. 19, 2004, at her home in New York Mills.
Doris Dalorita Mattson was born on Jan. 1, 1925, at home in New York Mills. Her parents were the late Matt and Maimie (Niemala) Mattson.
She attended Country School at District #178, #138 and #136. On Feb. 25, 1942, she married
Henry Louis Teberg in Pequot Lakes, Minn. Doris and Hank resided in Pequot Lakes for a short time and then moved to Erhard.
In 1942, Hank served in the United States Army Airforce Engineers, and Doris moved to New York Mills. When he returned from service in 1945, they resided in Otto Township, rural New York Mills. From 1950 to 1952, they owned and operated Hank and Doris' Bar and Caf/ in Wolf Lake, Minn., and then operated Bill Lee's Resort on Leaf Lakes for 4 years. Doris was also employed seasonally as a bookkeeper for 18 years at the Pickle Factory in New York Mills. They also operated Cal's Rainbow Point Resort on Marion Lake from 1984 to 1993. From 1958 to 2003 they made their home in Newton Township, rural New York Mills. In January 2003, they moved into New York Mills.
She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, embroidery, needlework, fishing, gardening and watching Jeopordy, Wheel of Fortune and the Minnesota Twins. She also loved spending time with her entire family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Hank Teberg; 2 daughters, Patricia Noon, of Fargo; Arleda (Ray) Tisdell, of Fairbanks, Alaska; 4 sons: Arland "Butch" (Gayle) Teberg, of New York Mills, Lyle (Marlene) Teberg, of New York Mills, Randy (Eileen) Teberg, of Argusville, N.D.. and Terry (Amy) Teberg, of Poynette, Wis.; 21 grandchildren: Michael, Mark and John Knight; Stephanie (Knight) Astrup; Thane and Joel Anderson; Shawn, Aaron, Nicholle Tisdell; Raeanna (Tisdell) Covington; Kyle, Jamie, Ryan and Dustin Teberg; Derrick Teberg; Christopher, Brooke, Tayla and Hailey Teberg; Brian and Colleen Teberg; 27 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters: Adeline (Nilo) Maki, of Golden Valley, Minn., Bernice Lord, of New York Mills, Grace (Bill) Hudspeth, of Portland, Ore., Darlene Jampsa, of Portalnd, Ore., Judy (Carl) Koste, of Perley; brother, Morris (Doris) Mattson, of Oak Harbor, Wash.; brother-in-law, Leonard Roberts, of New York Mills; numerous other relatives; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Janice Marie Anderson; two sisters, Lorraine Boyne and Mary Roberts; and 3 brothers: Rueben Mattson, Lloyd Mattson and Eugene Mattson.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Lakeland Hospice.

Diane Bares
Diane Bares, 57, of Moorhead, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at Meritcare hospital, Fargo.
She was born on Jan. 17, 1947, in Fergus Falls, to Sigurd and Verna (Berger) Dahlen. She grew up in the Dalton area. She attended school in Dalton and graduated from Fergus Falls High School. She then graduated from Minnesota State University in Moorhead with a degree in Education.
She married
Jerry Halverson in June 1969 and did substitute teaching in the Fargo and Moorhead area. Later she was employed by Camelot Cleaners. Jerry died in Feb. 1981, and on May 23, 1988, she married
Galen Bares in Lake Tahoe, Calif. Since their marriage, they have resided in Moorhead. She provided day care services for her grandchildren, Aliya and Hurley, for the past 6 years.
She is survived by her mother, Verna Dahlen, of Moorhead; her husband, Galen; two sons, Matthew and Marcus Halverson, both of Moorhead; one daughter, Dena Halverson, of Moorhead; three step-sons: Jeff Nicholson, of Crookston, John Nicholson, of West Fargo, and Dan Nicholson; and 2 grandchildren.
