Evelyn Shearer
Evelyn Jean Shearer, 57, Perham, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at Perham Memorial Hospital of Perham.
She was born April 24, 1947, in Fergus Falls, to James and Lucille (Tenney) Shearer.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters, John (June) Shearer of Underwood, Gerald (Jane) Shearer of Fergus Falls, Ruby Gilbertson of Sun City West, Ariz., Gordon (Alice) Shearer of Fayetteville, N.C., Valerie (Deloyd) Ricks Johnson of Ashby, and Karen Lee (Don) of Camano Island, Wash.; and her special care givers of Central Community Services of Perham: Brenda Hanson and Judy Leitch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Patricia Gullickson.
A family directed memorial service is planned for a later date. Assistance is provided by Olson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls.
Lester Teberg
Lester James Teberg, 78, Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at Lake Region Hospital of Fergus Falls.
He was born Sept. 10, 1925, in Fergus Falls, to Herman L. and Cecelia (OâConner) Teberg. He grew up in rural Fergus Falls, where he attended country School District No. 46. After schooling, he resided on the family homestead and farmed with his parents and his twin brother, LuVerne.
He loved the farm, working the land and being outdoors. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church of Fergus Falls and a former member of the Elks.
He is survived by four brothers: Herman H. (Marion) of Fergus Falls, Lloyd (Marcella) of Great Falls, Mont., twin brother, LuVerne of Fergus Falls, and George (Billy) of Paris, Mich.; and two sisters, Mildred (Al) Tordsen of Elbow Lake, and Violet Jacobson of Riverside, Calif. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold and Edward; and two sisters, Harriet and Mary.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church

Terry Simons
Terry James Simons, 47, Cohasset, Minn., died Monday, May 9, 2004, at his home, the result of injuries received in an ATV accident.
He was born June 12, 1956, to Vernon and LaVerne (Schmidt) Simons of Perham. He graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1974 and served in the Army following high school. After living in Alaska for a few years, he moved to Grand Rapids, Minn., and eventually moved to Cohasset. He became a journeyman electrician and worked throughout the area. He loved his home on the lake, his family of dogs and the freedom to work and live independently. He took great pride in the achievements and accomplishments of his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his mother, LaVerne Simons, of Pelican Rapids; three brothers, Jerry (Linda) and their daughter, Andria, of Fort Collins, Colo., and Gary (Marie) and their children Nicole (Jared) Anderson and Owen and Lindsey (Joseph) Lindley and Jaylyn, all of Fargo; two sisters, Connie Jose of Parkers Prairie and Patti Davis and her children:
Kelli, Janna and Joel, of Pelican Rapids; brother-in-law, Stan Clark, St. Louis, Mo., and his children: Shannon (George) Veeder and Bailey and Letta of Bogart, Ga., and Jason Clark of Jacksonville, Fla; Karron (Jeremy) Alford of Baton Rouge, La.; sister-in-law, Joyce Von Feldt of Gaithersburg, Md.; nieces, Janae Pearsall and her children Kalista and Jaden of Pelican Rapids, Leah (Gary) Burke and Ethan of Monroe, Wash., Staci (Scott) Cahill, of Renton, Wash., and Laura Simons, of Kirkland, Wash.
He is preceded in death by his father, Vern; a brother, Larry; a sister, Susan Clark; and great niece Taeya Burke.

Ralph Woods
Ralph Julius Woods, 86, rural Battle Lake, died April 26, 2004, at his home.
He was born Oct. 21, 1917, to Julius and Laura Woods near Clitherall Lake. He attended Battle Lake High School and Union College.
Beekeeping was his occupation and he enjoyed ice fishing in the winter time.
He is survived by his wife, LaVerna; a brother, Adrian; two sons, David and Daniel; three nephews, Alan, Norman, and Dale; a niece, Joanna; and a cousin, Steve.
Service: Sunday, May 16, at 3 p.m. at Pebble Lake Seventh-day Adventist Church of Fergus Falls

Clinton Lageson
Clinton A. Lageson died suddenly and peacefully at home June 9, 2004, after a delicious self-cooked meal of mashed potatoes and rutabaga. The funeral service will be Saturday, June 12, at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church of Fargo. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery of Fargo, N.D.
Visitation will be Friday, June 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home of Fargo with a prayer service Friday, June 11, at 7 p.m.
Frank Marty
Frank D. Marty, 38, of Fergus Falls, died Monday, April 26, 2004, at his home under the care of his family and Lakeland Hospice after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born on June 23, 1965, in Long Prairie, the oldest son of William and Rita (Illies) Marty. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Grey Eagle, Minn. He grew up and graduated from high school in Grey Eagle. His undergraduate days were spent at St. Cloud State University, where he graduated with a degree in social work and a speech minor. He was very involved in campus activities and held numerous positions on the University Program Board, including president. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, with a master's degree in Organizational Communications. Ironically, his graduate thesis was a study of hospice volunteers. He was a graduate assistant and later an adjunct faculty member at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point.
Frank met his wife, Heidi, while they were attending St. Cloud State University. They went to graduate school together and on August 31, 1991, married
in New York Mills.
He was an extremely intelligent, motivated and lovable man, who thought he had a great sense of humor. He worked for Wisconsin Gas Company and was constantly promoted. He moved to Minneapolis to work for Enron and later managed the Minnesota office. After working at Enron, he moved to Fergus Falls, where he was employed by OTESCO, a division of Ottertail Power Company. After working for OTESCO for three years, he left his job and went to work with his brother, Neil, in the family business, Fire Fighter and Detect Alarm. He had many friends and business associates who loved and respected him.
The joys of his life were his two children: Henry, 7, and Sadie Rose, 3. He enjoyed them and taught them much in their short time together. They loved to cook together, go for walks, work on computers and read.
"I could have never wished for a better father for our children, than what Frank turned out to be. I cannot imagine going on everyday without him. He was jipped out of life, but he is in a better place now. No cancer, no pain, " said his wife. He was so loved by his wife, children, family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Heidi Paulson; children, Henry Frank and Sadie Rose all of Fergus Falls; father, William Marty of Grey Eagle; brothers, Neil (Stephanie George) Marty of Sauk Centre, William Jon (Jenny Huckle) Marty of Sauk Rapids; nephews, Erik Paulson of Rochester, Justin George of Sauk Centre, Carter Marty of Sauk Centre; nieces Susan Paulson of Waite Park and Caly Jo Paulson of Rochester; great niece, Rhianna Paulson of Waite Park. Also surviving, father-in-law, Argyle Paulson of Fergus Falls; sister-in-law, Rhonda Paulson of Waite Park; brothers-in-law, Tom (Carl Starich) Paulson of Edina, Giles (Katie) Paulson of Rochester, Garth Paulson of Alexandria and many aunts and uncles, especially Uncle Bernard Marty of Grey Eagle, who was very special to Frank. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Illies; grandmother, Rose Illies; grandfather, Mike Illies; grandmother, Rosalia (Meagher) Marty; grandfather, Frank A. Marty; and mother-in-law, Loretta (Peterson) Paulson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Frank Marty Fund located at the American Federal Bank in Fergus Falls.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Olson Funeral Home with a 6:30 p.m. public prayer service. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Federated Church in Fergus Falls.

John P. Hardenberg, 82, Fergus Falls, died June 11, 2004, at Lake Region Hospital. Funeral arrangements are pending with the Olson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls.

McKenzie Wheeler, 8, of Fergus Falls died Tuesday at Fairview University Hospital of Minneapolis. Arrangements are pending with the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls.
Clinton Lageson
Clinton A. Lageson, 89, Fargo, died suddenly and peacefully at home Wednesday, June 9, 2004.
He was born in Sharon, N.D., on July 19, 1915. After graduation from Sharon High School, he entered the Civilian Conservation Corps and spent time building bridges in Red Wing, Minn., and Huron, S.D. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII and trained in Long Beach, Calif. While in Long Beach, he married
Lucille Burkhart of Cando, N.D. They moved to Washington, DC when Clint was appointed to the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), which later became the CIA. Whatever military secrets he was privy to were carried with him to the grave. After leaving the military, he worked at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Fargo until his retirement in 1978. He was always proud to be an American and remained interested in history and politics until his death.
When he was a very young boy, his father died of blood poisoning. Clint stepped up to the plate and went to work delivering papers and working on farms to help support his mother, five sisters, and one brother. For the rest of his life, his family came first. He cared for his mother until her death in 1950 and remained close to his brother and sisters until their deaths.
He was an extreme NDSU Bison fan and teammaker and attended all Bison football and basketball games until two years ago. He was also a supporter of Legion Baseball and active in the American Legion for many years. He gave often and generously to many charitable causes including Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Republican party.
For the last three years of his life, Clint lived with his daughter, Carol, and son-in-law, Dave Seim. They felt honored and privileged to have had him with them. He made it clear at the onset that he would earn his keep by washing dishes, feeding the cats, and doing laundry. When he was through with his chores, he enjoyed watching sports on TV with Dave and his friends.
He is survived by three daughters: Cathy Colling, Fergus Falls, Carol (David) Seim of Fargo and Linda Lageson, also of Fargo; as well as honorary daughter, Deb Assmus of Fargo. These daughters want him to know that they will survive without him, but life will never be the same.
He is also survived by three grandchildren: Caitlin and David Serrano of Minneapolis and Ben Colling of Fergus Falls.
Although he outlived all of his siblings and most of his friends, a few remain: Irv Weitzel of Fargo, Clare Olson of Breckenridge and Anita Lagervall of Rochester; in addition, his nephew, Jimmy Kloster of Sharon, N.D., remained a faithful friend and companion to the end.
Finally, household pets Tupelo, Redmond, and Scout will miss his gentle touch.
Service: Saturday, June 12, at 11 a.m., at Peace Lutheran Church of Fargo, N.D.

Barbara Tenneson
Barbara Ann Tenneson, 60, of Fergus Falls died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at the Pioneer Retirement Community of Fergus Falls.
She was born Aug. 6, 1943, in Barnesville, to Bennie O. and Agnes (Strandlin) Nelson. She grew up on a farm near Barnesville and graduated from Barnesville High School. She then moved to Fargo N.D., where she worked at St. Luke's Hospital as an aide.
She married
Jim Tenneson in Barnesville. They lived in Fargo and Pelican Rapids where she worked at a nursing home. She moved to Fergus in the late 1960's, working at the Travel Host Motel and the Broen Memorial Home.
She enjoyed bingo, shopping, crafts, rummage sales and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her children, Susan (Jared), Rund of Dalton; Boyd (Michelle) Tenneson of Fergus Falls; five grandchildren: Garrett, Dustin, Jonathan, Hunter and Montana; two brothers, Kermit (Alice) Nelson of Barnesville and Curtis (Delores) Nelson of Barnesville and special friend Ellen Rostad of Fergus Falls.
Visitation: No visitation planned.
