DR. ROBERT A. KUTH, D.D.S.
Dr. Robert A. Kuth, D.D.S., 83, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Duluth, Canyon and Green Valley, Ariz., died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001, in La Rosa Health Center, Tucson.
He was born June 14, 1918, to Dr. Joseph R. and Katherine (Fiebiger) Kuth in Duluth. He grew up and attended school in Duluth, graduating from Cathedral High School. In January 1934, he received his Eagle Scout Award from the Lake Superior Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He attended St. John's University in Collegeville, Minn., where he graduated with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry. After receiving his undergraduate degree, he attended Marquette University in Milwaukee and received a doctorate of dental surgery. On June 28, 1944, he was united in marriage to Mary Audrey Hoch in Duluth. He had served in the Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. He had owned and operated a dental practice in Duluth for 40 years until his retirement in 1984, when he moved to Green Valley for health reasons.

He had been a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, the Kitchi Gammi Club, the 4th Degree of Knights of Columbus, Elks Club and the American Legion, all of Duluth. He was also a member of the O.K.U., the National Honorary Dental Society, Alpha Sigma Nu, National Honorary Jesuit Society, the American Dental Association, the Minnesota State Dental Association and the Duluth District Dental Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dr. Joseph R. Kuth; and a granddaughter, Karen Miller.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Audrey; a son, Karl (Rita) Kuth of Aurora; daughters Kathy Marion of Green Valley, Elizabeth Kuth and Barbara (James) Miller of Canyon; 10 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Edward (Evelyn) Kuth of Duluth; a sister, Ann Hoene of Billings, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 10 until the 11 a.m. memorial Mass Monday in the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Duluth. Inurnment in Calvary cemetery. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to the American Lung Association. Arrangements by Range Funeral Home, Virginia.

EVELYN M. KALLIGHER
Evelyn M. Kalligher, 83, formerly of East Second Street, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at her home in Eden Prairie, Minn.
Evelyn was born May 11, 1918, in Duluth to Arthur G. and Freda (Dahlen) Anderson. She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Raymond Kalligher, in 1999.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Gene (Margie) Kalligher of Duluth, Dennis William (Darlene) Kalligher of Duluth and John Raymond (Michelle) Kalligher of Eden Prairie; sisters Vivian Wacker of Duluth and Betty Jane Herseth of Monroe, Wash.; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: 1 until the 2 p.m. service Sunday in Dougherty Funeral Home. Burial in Park Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. Second St.

DAVID A. KNAPP
David A. Knapp, 75, of Greenbriar Drive, formerly of Pike Lake, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, in St. Luke's Hospice.
He was a lifelong Duluth resident and a graduate of Central High School. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran serving as a radio technician. David worked as a laborer for various construction companies. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Sara Knapp; his stepmother, Lois Pennie Knapp; a sister, Jane Renier; and grandchildren Daniel and Jonah Duvall.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian; a daughter, Sherry Lou Knapp of Minneapolis; sons Bryan (Jacquelyn) of Saginaw and David W. (Jean) of Duluth; grandchildren Jeremiah and Sarah Duvall, Benjamin, Samuel, Hanah and Aaron Knapp, and Jesse and Jennifer Knapp; and a great-grandchild, Cloe Duvall.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE AND BURIAL: 2 p.m. Saturday in Forest Hill cemetery accorded by the Duluth VFW Combined Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Minnesota Teen Challenge, 1619 Portland Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN 55404-1598 or the Billy Graham Evangelical Association, P.O. Box 779, Minneapolis, MN 55440-0779. Arrangements by Bell Brothers Funeral Directors-Bell Brothers Chapel, 601 N. 56th Ave. W.

VICTORIA FREEMAN WILLECK
Victoria Freeman Willeck, 90, longtime Park Point resident, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, in the Franciscan Home.
Victoria was born Jan. 3, 1911, in Mora, Minn., to Victor and Signe (Hoaglund) Seline and she moved to Duluth in the 1930s. She had worked at Glass Block as a clerk for 15 years, retiring in 1967. She then with her husband, John Willeck, ran Willeck Brothers Cafe from 1969 to 1978. Victoria was a former member of St. Margaret Mary Church and the Degree of Honor.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Benedict Freeman, in 1964; a daughter, Barbara Thorson; brothers Sid, Lloyd, Lester, Roy, Walt, Ruben and Herb; and a sister, Pearl Johnson.

Victoria is survived by her husband, John Willeck; her daughter, Mary (Kenneth) Greenwalt of Duluth; her son, John (Kay) Freeman of Aurora; her brother, Lawrence "Bud" (Betty) Seline of Brainerd; grandchildren Terri, Kenneth, Jeffery, Timothy, Kathleen, Jennifer, Leah, Angela and Kelly; and great-grandchildren Paul, Megan, Hannah, Eric, Bethany and Ella.

VISITATION: Noon until the 1 p.m. service Saturday in Dougherty Funeral Home. Burial in Calvary cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. Second St.

RAYMOND AUDREY WRIGHT
Raymond Audrey Wright, 60, of Corbin Drive, formerly of Wichita Falls, Texas, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001.
He was born June 26, 1941, in Wichita Falls to Raymond and Barbara Wright. On Jan. 9, 1963, he married Sherry Lee Elliot.

He grew up on the Cal Farleys Boys Ranch, where he learned to cook. He held various jobs cooking until 1958. Through his close friends, M.H. and Carmel Flaharity, he learned the roofing business, which is what he did for 41 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Brenda Ellen Tjaden.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sherry; daughters Shelly (Phil) Vanwhy of Seabrook, Texas, Barb (Ken) Skoglund of Duluth, Tina (Glenn) Tjaden of Wichita, Texas, Patricia (Doug) Erickson of Chisholm and Audrey (Don) Harstad of Eveleth; brothers Andy, Gene, Tim, Jerry, Curtis and Fred; sisters Ann, Lou, May, Margie, Diane, Robbie and Sherry; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Hospice in Wichita Falls and here in Duluth.
A private family servicewill be held. Arrangements by Hegstrom Family Funerals, Foley Chapel, 624-4838.

LAWRENCE R. "LARRY" JOBIN
Lawrence R. "Larry" Jobin, 59, of Elder Drive died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001.
He was born March 6, 1942, in Duluth to Raymond and Helen (Kilby) Jobin. He was a 1960 graduate of Denfeld High School. He worked for Western Weighing & Inspecting Bureau from 1961 until 1991. He also worked part-time at Country Lanes North.

Larry was an avid bowler and a member of ABC for many years. He was a former member of the West Duluth Moose 1478 and Proctor Moose 1302. He enjoyed playing golf and cribbage and being with his two beloved sons, Marty and Mick.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond on Oct. 9, 1968; and his mother, Helen on Oct. 10, 2000.

Larry is survived by his sons, Martin "Marty" and Michael "Mick", both of Duluth; sisters Roberta (David) Couture and Patricia "Pati" (Laurance) Meier, both of Duluth; his former wife, Mary Jo Jobin of Proctor; and four nieces.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. with a 6 p.m. wake prayer service Friday in Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home. Visitation continues from 9 until the 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Saturday in St. Rose Catholic Church, Proctor. Burial in Oneota cemetery.

FRANCES LUNDBERG
Frances Lundberg, 99, of Duluth died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, in Chris Jensen Nursing Home.
She was born July 5, 1902, to John L. and Lydia (Person) Ohman. Mrs. Lundberg worked as a secretary for the Board of Education before her marriage to Robert Lundberg and was a homemaker, avid fisherwoman and loved to entertain her family and friends.

She was a member of First Covenant Church from 1922 to 1939. In 1939, she became a charter member of Lakeview Covenant Church and continued until the time of her death.

Mrs. Lundberg was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Robert.

She is survived by a son, Robert (Barbara) Lundberg, and a daughter, Catherine Gunderson, both of Duluth; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. today in Johnson Mortuary Chapel. Visitation continues from noon until the 1 p.m. service Friday in Lakeview Covenant Church. Interment in Sunrise Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Lakeview Covenant Church Memorial Fund. Arrangements by Johnson Mortuary.

SANDRA J. DANDREA
Sandra J. Dandrea, 65, of Phoenix, formerly of Duluth died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, in Las Vegas.
She was born June 12, 1936, in Duluth. Sandra was a resident of Phoenix since 1965.

Sandra is survived by her son, Steven; daughters Debbie, Theresa and Stacy; a sister, Ev; and grandchildren Zack, Lindsey, Branden, Gabriel and Zachery.

She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by her family and many friends. Sandra will always be in our hearts and memories.
Visitation: 1 until the 2 p.m. service today in Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix. There will be a gathering at the family home immediately following the service.

ERVIN L. "BUD" ELLEFSON
Ervin L. "Bud" Ellefson, 71, of Rose Road, Hermantown passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at his son's home in Ashland, surrounded by his family, following a valiant battle with emphysema.
He was born Oct. 19, 1929, in Barron, Wis., to Herbert and Grace (Jacobson) Ellefson. He graduated from Moose Lake High School in 1948. After graduation, he served three years in the Army. On Sept. 16, 1950, he married Beverly Johnson in Moose Lake.

In 1951, he returned to Moose Lake and joined his father in the farm implement business. In 1965, he began a career in banking at North Shore Bank of Commerce in Duluth. He transferred to Airport State Bank, where he was bank president. Bud moved to the Republic Bank, where he was president until his retirement in 1991. During his retirement, he served as interim president at Mountain Iron Bank and also served on the Board of Directors at F & M Bank in Superior. Throughout his career, Bud served on many different boards and committees such as Hope Lutheran Church Board, Moose Lake, St. Matthew's Church Board, Esko, Grace Lutheran Church Board, Hermantown, University of Minnesota Duluth Hoop Club, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce and many more.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert in 1989; and a daughter, Patti in 1981.

Bud is survived by his wife, Beverly of Hermantown; his children, Gary (Deb) Ellefson of Ashland, Dennis (Elissa) Ellefson of Chanhassen, Minn., and Cindy (Steve) Ellefson-Oswald of International Falls; his mother, Grace Ellefson of Moose Lake; a sister, Doris (Al) Naslund of Esko; his loving grandchildren, Monika (Jon) Summer, Shawn (Ryan) Stewart, Benjamin Ellefson, Kyle Ellefson, Erin (Ryan) Davis, and Matthew, Blake and Maren Ellefson; a great-granddaughter, Taylor Stewart; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation: 1 until the 2 p.m. service Friday in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Esko. Interment in Sunset cemetery, Moose Lake. Memorials may be made to Regional Hospice, 1615 Maple Lane, Ashland, WI 54806. Arrangements by Frost Home for Funerals, Ashland.
