Earla M. Coldagelli
Earla M. Coldagelli, 69, of Eveleth died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, in her home.
She is survived by her husband, Reno; sons Gordon (Peggy), Rick (Tracy), Peter (Michele) and Paul Coldagelli; daughters Tina (Richard) Deloria, Tricia Coldagelli and Mary (Bob) Johnson; 10 grandchildren; and a special family friend, Dr. Ray M. Martinson.
Visitation: Noon until 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home. Service 2 p.m. Sunday in Resurrection Catholic Church, Eveleth. Inurnment in Eveleth cemetery.

George Skorich
George Skorich, 86, former Calumet resident, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, in the Itasca Nursing Home, Grand Rapids.
Born May 6, 1914, in Taconite, he was the son of Mike and Boja (Koruga) Skorich. A 1933 graduate of Greenway High School, he grew up in Taconite and White City. Following World War II, he lived most of his life in Calumet. He had worked in mines in Arizona and Greenland and following World War II worked for J.&L.; Mining Co., retiring in 1971.

George and Linda Riikkola were married Nov. 6, 1960, in Chisholm. He was a former member of St. Basil's Serbian Orthodox Church of Chisholm, had served on the Calumet City Council and was a member of the Marinoff-Miskovich VFW Post 8831 of Pengilly.

During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in the European and Pacific Theaters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Boja Skorich; sisters Mary Mandich and Angeline Wohlsdorf; brothers Joe, John, Milan and Rody Skorich.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; a son, David (Delores) Koivisto of Coleraine; daughters Karen (Philip) Sigfrinius and Mary (Daniel) Strand, both of Calumet; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie (Bill) Carmichael of Upland, Pa.
Visitation: 1:30 until the 2:30 p.m. service Saturday in Peterson Funeral Chapel, Coleraine, the Very Rev. Bogdan Zjalic officiating. Interment in Lakeview cemetery, Coleraine.

Evelyn Marie Maras
Evelyn Marie Maras, 80, of Hibbing died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, in the University Medical Center-Mesabi.
She was born in Calumet on July 6, 1920, to Carl and Hildur (Jonsen) Seaberg. She graduated from Greenway High School in Coleraine in 1938 and married John "Bull" Maras on Oct. 17, 1942, in Hibbing.

She was a homemaker and member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Sons of Norway Midnatsolen Lodge 58 and the Vasa Lodge. She enjoyed time with her family, especially time spent with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Maras, in 1984; an infant granddaughter, Kerry Sterle, in 1971; four brothers; and three sisters.

Evelyn is survived by daughters Beckie (Richard) Stanich and Sue Ann (James) Sterle, both of Hibbing; sons John (Nancy) Maras and George (Gloria) Maras, both of Hibbing; 11 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren Olivia, Cally, Kellen and Kyle.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. with 7 p.m. parish wake prayers today in Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing. Mass of Christian burial 10 a.m. Saturday in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Hibbing, with the Rev. James Hauver as celebrant. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Rick Stanich, Tracey Witherow, Christopher Maras, Jennifer Shay, Joanna Maras, Jamie Maras, Amanda Sterle, Terri Sterle, Jason Knaffla, Kristin Maras and John Maras. Interment in Maple Hill cemetery, Hibbing. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.

Thomas Michael Lehrer
Thomas Michael Lehrer, 6 months and 27 days, of Eveleth died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, in Children's Hospital, Minneapolis.
Thomas is survived by his parents, Brian M. and Linnea A. Lehrer; grandparents; great-grandparents; a great-great-grandparent; godparents; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation: Noon until the 1 p.m. service Saturday in United in Christ Lutheran Church, Eveleth. Arrangements by Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home.

Paul A. Hanson
Paul A. Hanson, 84, of Moose Lake died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake.
He was born May 23, 1916, in Moose Lake to August and Cecilia (Halverson) Hanson. Paul was raised and attended schools in Silver Township and Moose Lake. He was a lifelong resident of Silver Township and farmed with his parents on the family's homestead. On March 11, 1950, Paul married Henrietta Bade in Moose Lake, and they continued to farm on the family homestead.

Paul worked for Northwest Paper in Cloquet and Northern Pacific Railroad with the bridge and building crew. He also worked in the state hospital for 25 years, with 11 years supervising inmates from penal camp and the remainder of those years working as a mason and carpenter. Paul retired in 1979 and continued to farm.

He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Moose Lake. One of Paul's hobbies was restoring one-cylinder gas engines and showing them at steam and threshing shows. Paul also enjoyed working with his Belgian horses and his favorite horse, Sam. He also showed his horses at the Carlton County Fair and Ma & Pa Kettle Parade in Kettle River.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Henrietta, of Moose Lake; sons Roger (Terri) Hanson of Littlefork and Roland (Jackie) Hanson of Cook; a granddaughter, Holly Hanson, of Cook; a brother, Frank (Leona) Hanson, of Duluth; and honorary grandchildren, Tim and Kimberly Larson.
Visitation: 1 until the 2 p.m. service today in Hope Lutheran Church. The Rev. Alan Johnson officiating. Spring burial in Riverside cemetery, Moose Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Arrangements by Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.

Kenneth William McKnight
Kenneth William McKnight, 81, of Sioux Falls, S.D., died Wednesday, March 28, 2001.
Kenneth was born Feb. 28, 1920, in Bruce, S.D., to Loyal H. and Ella (Reuter) McKnight. He grew up in the Bruce area, where he graduated from high school. He then began studies at South Dakota State in Brookings and was in the ROTC program. In May 1942, he was united in marriage to Margaret Vavrek in Washington, D.C. Kenneth served overseas in the Army and was honorably discharged in September 1945 with the rank of captain. The couple made their home in Brookings, where Kenneth completed his education at State. He then began his career in mining, which took the couple to Hibbing, Fairmont, Babbitt and Silver Bay. Kenneth retired from Reserve Mining Company after 30 years in 1981. Margaret preceded him in death in 1987. Kenneth moved to Sioux Falls in 1989. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Sioux Falls.

Kenneth was also preceded in death by his parents and a son, Timothy Allen.

Grateful for having shared his life are his children Michael (Nancy) McKnight of Sioux Falls, Carol (Ron) Ball of Duluth, Judy (Daryl) Strandlien of Seattle, Wash., and Jeanne McKnight of Seattle; grandchildren John (Karen) Ball, Laura Ball (Patrick Plys), Timothy (Taci) Ball, Bryon Ball, Jessica, Ryan, Kelly and Megan McKnight and Hayley McKnight of Forbes; great-grandchildren Christopher, Anna, Daniel, Noah and Jonah Plys, Emily, Katelyn, Carly and Olivia Ball; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation: 6:30-8 p.m. today in Miller Funeral Home, Sioux Falls. Visitation will also be held 7-8 p.m. Sunday in Cavallin Funeral Home, Two Harbors. Graveside service 10 a.m. Monday in Silver Bay cemetery, Silver Bay. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the South Dakota World War II Veterans Memorial or the local Diabetes Foundation.

LaVerne G. Lindgren
LaVerne G. Lindgren, 72, of Cook died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, in St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Willard; a son, Darrel (Betty) Lindgren of Cook; daughters Karen (Greg) Balke of Golden Valley, Minn., Trudy (Mark) Newton of Lander, Wyo., and Lorie Skorseth of Cook; a brother, LeRoy (Myrtle) Johnson of Cook; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. today in Mlaker Funeral Home, Cook. Service at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Dennis Morreim will be the officiant. Interment in Cook Community cemetery.

Genevieve T. Phillipich
Genevieve T. Phillipich, 73, of Gilbert died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, in St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.
She was born May 17, 1927, in Gilbert to John and Frances (Stupca) Potocnik. She was a 1944 graduate of Gilbert High School and later attended and graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis. On June 26, 1948, she married Leonard Phillipich in St. Joseph's Church in Gilbert. In 1949, she and her husband purchased the former Train Studio in Eveleth, which they owned and operated as Thomas-Leonard Studio until their retirement in 1996. Gen used her artistic talents to help record the history of generations of Iron Range families.

She was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women, St. Ann's Guild and Gilbert VFW Auxiliary. She was also a member of Minnesota Professional Photographers Association and Arrowhead Professional Photographers Association. She will be remembered for hosting family get-togethers and holidays in her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard; a daughter, Luann Phillipich of Burnsville, Minn.; sons Thomas (Kathy) of Chisholm and Robert (Kathy) of Apple Valley, Minn.; brothers Jack Potocnik of rural Gilbert and Richard (Barb) Potocnik of Salem, S.C.; sisters Mildred (Jack) Zollar of Duluth and Mary Lou (Andy) Paris of Aurora; grandchildren Jeffrey, Amy, Adam, David and John; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. today and 9 until the 10 a.m. service in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Gilbert, the Rev. Frank Perkovich as celebrant. Burial in Gilbert cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home, Gilbert. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association, St. Joseph's Catholic Church or the Gilbert Public Library.

Harry B. Flannigan
Harry B. Flannigan, 71, of Iron died Wednesday, March 28, 2001.
He is survived by his wife, June; daughters Susan (Peter) Cerkvenik, JoAnn (Rodney) Holweger and Janice (Dan) Neumann; sons Timothy (Susan), Rodney (Donna), James (Judy) and Randy (Terri); two brothers; a sister; 17 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. today in Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home, Gilbert. Service at 2 p.m. Saturday in Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Virginia. The Rev. Nathan Sager will officiate. Burial in Forbes cemetery.

Wilma E. Asuma
Wilma E. Asuma, 74, of Cherry died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, in Virginia Convalescent Center.
Visitation: noon until the 1 p.m. service today in Faith United Lutheran Church, Iron. Burial in Cherry cemetery. Arrangements by Range Funeral Home, Virginia.

Roland "Ron" Husom
Roland "Ron" Husom, 55, of Cloquet passed away Saturday, April 21, 2001, in his home.

Arrangements are being handled by Barr Brothers-Handevidt Funeral Home, Cloquet, (218) 879-4636.
