Robert R. Manders, 79, Longville, Minn., died Saturday, June 9, 2001, in Leisure Hills Care Center, Grand Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Willis.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; a daughter, Brenda Manders; and many nieces and nephews.
Service: There will be no service. Arrangements are by Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids.
Lillian E. Shubert
Lillian E. Shubert, 88, Two Harbors, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, in Lake View Home.
She was born Nov. 20, 1912, to Rudolph and Anna Marie (Antonsen) Larson in Stoughton, Wis., and had lived in Two Harbors since her childhood.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milan Shubert; a sister and brother-in-law, Swanhild and Richard Brinkema and their children, Grant Brinkema and Gay Reasoner.
She is survived by a sister, Phyllis (D. James) Jumer of Peoria, Ill.; two nieces; three nephews; and many cousins in Oslo, Norway.
Service: Private graveside service will be held in Lakeview cemetery, Two Harbors. Arrangements are by Cavallin Funeral Home.
Goldie H. Coles
Goldie H. Coles, 75, of Minneapolis died Friday, June 8, 2001, in Minneapolis.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Carroll Funeral Home, Deer River. Service at 11 a.m. Thursday in Carroll Funeral Home. Burial in Sand Lake cemetery, Sand Lake, Minn.
Leroy Gault
Leroy Gault, 76, of Stockton, Calif., died Friday, June 1, 2001, in his home.
Mr. Gault was born in Wrenshall and lived in Stockton for nine years. Before moving to California, he sailed the Great Lakes with the U.S. Steel fleet. He retired after working as a warehouseman for Owen of Illinois for many years.
He was a member of Oak Park Senior Center Bridge Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lillian Gault; a sister, Marinette Gault; and a brother, Lloyd Gault.
Leroy is survived by daughters Joan Russell of Souisbyville, Ariz., and Kathleen DeBernardi of Hayward, Calif.; a brother, Rev. Clarence (Marilyn) Gault of Beloit, Wis.; sisters Bernice (Eugene) Baker and Agnes Schneider, both of Cloquet; four grandchildren; a great granddaughter; and his companion, Helen Martin of Stockton.
A memorial service was Sunday, June 10, 2001, in the First Unitarian Church of Stockton. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Irene M. Sedlack
Irene M. Sedlack, 94, of Hibbing died Sunday, June 24, 2001, in the Greenview Residence in Hibbing.
She was born May 1, 1907, in Florence, Neb., the daughter of John and Mary (Skleaner) Gustafson. She attended school in Milaca, Minn. She was married
to Frank Sedlack on May 6, 1925, in Hibbing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; brothers Emil and Albin Gustafson; and sisters Edna Graff and Jewel Albee.
She is survived by her daughter, Geraldine "Jeri" (Ernest) Nelson of Hibbing; grandsons Roger (Barbara) Nelson of Chisholm and David (Kathleen) Nelson of Superior; great-grandchildren Derek (Tanya) Nelson, Tami Nelson, Travis Nelson, Cale Nelson, Jason (Teresa) Nelson and Lesley (Benji) Hanson; a great-great-grandson, Austin Nelson; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 10 until the 11 a.m. service Wednesday in the First Presbyterian Church, Hibbing, the Rev. Brian Birk officiating. Interment in Maple Hill cemetery. John Rebrovich, 35, of Britt died Sudnay, June 24, 2001, in the Fairview University Medical Center-Mesabi.

Alfred J. Jorgensen, 85, of Bigfork, Minn., died Thursday, June 21, 2001.

Jon Richard Shromoff
Jon Richard Shromoff, 57, of Eagle Landing Blvd., Hanahan S.C., formerly of Two Harbors, died Monday, June 25, 2001, at his home in Hanahan, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
Jon was born Aug. 20, 1943, in Two Harbors to Doris and Otto Shromoff. He graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1962. He started working for Reserve Mining Co., in Silver Bay in 1963, where he completed a four-year electrical apprenticeship program. He worked there until 1986, when Reserve closed down. He then worked electrical construction and also as maintenance supervisor at Superior Shores Resort, until he was called back to work for Cyprus Northshore Mining in 1989, and eventually Northshore Mining, until his retirement in February 2001.
On July 11, 1964, he married
Dorothy Kari and they lived in Two Harbors until moving to South Carolina in September 2000. He was a devoted and supportive husband, father and grandfather, that never hesitated to help in any way.
He was preceded in death by his father, Otto Shromoff in 1947; his stepfather, Arnold Mesna in 1995; and his mother, Doris Mesna in 1998.
Jon is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy of Hanahan; sons Paul J. (Kimberly) Shromoff of Goose Creek, S.C., and Ryan L. Shromoff of Columbia, S.C.; brothers Charles L. (Joanne) Shromoff of Champlin, Minn., and Roger L. (Cathy) Shromoff of Bloomington, Minn.; aunts Fern Davis of Clarendon Hills, Ill., and Esther (Perry) Johnson of Rice Lake, Wis.; several cousins; father-in-law, Edward J. Kari of Crystal, Minn.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mildred and Lester Blair of Brooklyn Center, Minn.; a niece; four nephews; his precious grandchildren, Tyler Jon and Connor Joseph Shromoff of Goose Creek, S.C., and Emilee Marie and Alec Peter Shromoff of Grain Valley, Mo.; and many caring relatives and friends.
He will be missed by all.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors and from 10 until the 11 a.m. service Friday in Bethlehem Church. Burial in Lakeview cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Two Harbors.
Debra Rae (Donner) Hansen
Debra Rae (Donner) Hansen, of Belmond, Iowa, died Sunday, June 24, 2001, in her home.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Hansen; stepchildren Lon (Sara) Hansen, Kim (Ron) Ausborn and Deb (Chris) Sorensen; step-grandchildren Amanda, Eric, Nicole, Anthony and Rachel; her grandmother, Clara Donnor; a brother, Bill (Cindy) Donner; sisters Vicky Donner and Clara Donner; three nieces; two nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation: 1 until the 2 p.m. service Thursday in River of God Church, Big Falls, Minn.
Robert "Bob" Erickson
Robert "Bob" Erickson, 85, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at his residence in Blackberry.

Doris Lillian Mastin
Doris Lillian Mastin, 75, lifelong resident of International Falls died Saturday, June 23, 2001, in the Littlefork Care Center.
She is survived by sons John (Carolyn) Mastin and David Mastin, both of Big Falls; daughter-in-law, Amy Mastin of International Falls; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Service: 2 p.m. Friday in Green-Larsen Memorial Chapel, International Falls.
Emory E. Schiller
Emory E. Schiller, 76, of Two Harbors died Thursday, June 28, 2001, in Lake View Memorial Hospital, Two Harbors.
He is survived by his wife, Maria "Clem" of Two Harbors; son and daughters Gary Schiller, Sandra (Harry) Peterson and Lori Lynch, all of Two Harbors; a sister-in-law, Ruth "Tootsie" Schiller of Two Harbors; grandchildren Lane, Jason, Angela, Adam and David; a great-granddaughter, Angela; niece and nephew Susie and James.

Steve H. Gheen
Steve H. Gheen, 80, of Virginia and formerly of Ely died Thursday, June 28, 2001, in Virginia Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 23, 1921, in Buhl, to Stephen H. and Mary Ellen (O'Neil) Gheen II. Steve was a 1940 graduate of Orr High School and was a Marine veteran of World War II and the Korean War, where he served as a fighter pilot. He was employed by the U.S. Forest Service as a water bomber pilot from 1962-1983.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Winifred Hall; his second wife, Aune Ahola; a granddaughter, Paige Barich; a stepson, Richard Ahola; a stepdaughter, Paula Zupec; and step-grandson, Rory Vesel.
Survivors include a special companion, Margaret "Pudgie" Reubish of Virginia; daughters Nancy (Jim) Weisinger of Ely, Mary (Richard) Hutchins of Baltimore, Johnette (William) Cline of Lafayette, Ind., Kathleen (Robert) Olson of Ely, and Lollie Barich of Lakeland, Minn.; sons Stephen of Red Wing, Minn.; Patrick (Reone) of Hayward, Wis., Michael (Kim) of Ely, and Thomas (DeeDee) of Duluth; stepdaughters Judy (Paul) Mackie of Ely and Barbara (Leonard) Vesel of Duluth; sisters Patricia Atol of Las Vegas and Margaret (Ron) Bathrick of Cheyenne, Wyo.; 28 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday with rosary recitation at 7 p.m. in Kerntz Funeral Home, Ely. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Ely, Father James Scheuer as celebrant. Inurnment in Greaney cemetery.
