Ersilia Katherine "Patti" Summers
Ersilia Katherine "Patti" Summers, of Britt, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 27, 2001, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family.
On Nov. 21, 1929, Emma and Fulvio Pettinelli were blessed with their seventh child, a daughter they named Ersilia Katherine, "Patti", as she was affectionately called by her family and friends. She grew up in Virginia, and while attending school there she met and fell in love with her life partner and best friend of 55 years, Karl Summers.

Before building their home in Britt in 1953, they lived in a logging camp at Lake 13 and a home in Hopper. Their home in Britt, with all of its playground equipment, was always a fun place to visit. Karl and Patti were blessed with three children, Karl (LuAnne) Summers Jr. and Katherine (Timothy) VanSoest, both of Britt, and Gregory Summers, who went home to heaven when he was 4 as a result of leukemia.

Her love for her husband and family was only surpassed by her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who she served joyfully and faithfully for many years. Patti worked as a volunteer in area nursing homes for nearly 19 years. During those years, she shared her love for her Lord, the Bible and music with all she came to know. Patti was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Midway, where she arranged special music for nearly 12 years.

She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her brothers and sisters, Lawrence "Pat" Pettinelli, Lucretia "Toddy" (Robert) Hansen, Renold (Helen) Pettinelli and Lucille Pettinelli, all of Virginia; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
