Hilda A. Brademan
Hilda A. Brademan, 83, of Cloquet died Friday, June 1, 2001, in Cloquet Nursing Home.
She was born Nov. 16, 1917, in Wagner Township to Henry and Minnie (Wellnitz) Schlapkohl. She was united in marriage to Ernest Brademan July 2, 1938, in Giese, Minn., and they moved to Cloquet in 1951.

Hilda dedicated her life to God, her husband, and her children. She made sure everyone was cared for before herself. She became a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in 1951 and served her church as Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher, Ladies Aid member, visiting the sick, and supporting each of us in prayer. Hilda also enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, bowling, quilting, and playing the accordion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Rudolph and Paul; sisters Elsie Makela, Irene Efram and Violet Krueger; and a great-grandchild, Colton.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ernest; sons David (Sandy) of Cloquet, Jim (Christine) of Duluth, Gary (Cindy) of Cloquet; daughters Elaine (Howard) Vargason of Cloquet, and Linda Gamble (Gary Jurek) of Cloquet; a sister, Lillian Groth of Cloquet; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Sunday in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Cloquet. Visitation continues from 1 until the 2 p.m. service in the church Monday, the Rev. Donald Love officiating. Interment follows in Maple Grove cemetery, Cloquet. Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Care of Cloquet.

Frank Henry Anderson
Frank Henry Anderson, 59, Wright, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2001, in his home.
A complete obituary will be published in Wednesday's News Tribune.
Open house: A celebration of his life will be from 1-4 p.m. June 9 in his home on Prairie Lake. Arrangements are by Wefelmeyer-Handevidt Funeral Home, Cloquet, (218) 879-6741.

Edwin R. Isaacson
Edwin R. Isaacson, 92, of Hoyt Lakes died Thursday, May 31, 2001, in White Community Hospital in Aurora.
He was born May 3, 1909, in Gowan, Minn., to William and Amelia (Gustafson) Isaacson. He was a 1928 graduate of Floodwood High School. Later, he worked in Duluth and Carlton for a short time as a grocer.

On Aug. 7, 1934, he married Pearl Garland in Floodwood. Later, they moved to Marcell, Minn., where he owned and operated the Marcell Mercantile and worked as postmaster. In the early 1940s he worked for International Harvester in St. Paul and later as an insurance agent for Northwestern National Insurance Co. In 1948, he began working for Century Motor Freight and worked there until his retirement in 1974. He had been a Hoyt Lakes resident since 1980. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Hoyt Lakes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Harry, Erwin and Clarence.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Pearl; a daughter, Mary Ellen (Donald) Lealos of Babbitt; a son, Brian (Kay) Isaacson of Maple Grove, Minn.; brothers Jalmer (Dorothy) of Fridley, Minn., and James (Mary Rae) of Hancock, Mich.; sisters Lillian (Edward) Ingstad of Apple Valley, Minn., Helene Ingstad of Anoka, Minn., Martha (Willard) Maki of Esko and Viola (George) Valo of Milaca, Minn.; grandchildren Paul Lealos, Michael (Kathy) Lealos, Brian (Elizabeth) Isaacson and Kristi (Steven) Zwach; great-grandchildren Eric and Aaron Lealos, Dean Isaacson and Tommy Zwach; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation: 12:30 until the 1:30 p.m. service Monday in Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home, Aurora, Pastor Ruth Gangloff officiating. Burial in Hoyt Lakes Memorial cemetery.

Urban H. Peroceschi
Urban H. Peroceschi, 79, of Hibbing died Thursday, May 31, 2001, in his home.
Survivors include his special friend Tyne Limmer of Hibbing; sons David and Eugene; a daughter, Lynn Lynch; grandchildren Janene, Bradley, and Gregg and many more grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 1 until the 2 p.m. service today in Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing. Burial in Maple Hill cemetery.

Florence M. Carlson
Florence M. Carlson, 77, of Coleraine died Thursday, May 31, 2001, in Itasca Medical Center, Grand Rapids.
Born May 18, 1924, in Grand Rapids, she was the daughter of Alex and Mary (Kessler) Hachey. She grew up in Grand Rapids and was a 1942 graduate of Grand Rapids High School. A resident of Coleraine since her marriage to Ralph C. Carlson, she was a member of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women. She prepared meals at the Nyberg Center for Senior Citizens for 20 years, and was a member of the Coleraine "31" Card Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Mary Hachey; her husband, Ralph in 1973; sisters Genevieve Hachey, Catherine Hachey and Shirley Jokinen; and a brother, Alex Hachey.

Survivors include sons Ralph (Merrily) Carlson of Deer River and Kevin Carlson of Nashville, Tenn.; daughters Barb (Larry) Mulneaux of Anchorage, Alaska, and Judy Carlson of St. Paul; grandchildren Beth and Erin Carlson of Deer River, David (Crissy) and Willy Mulneaux, both of Anchorage; sisters Rosemary Patterson and Agnes Lander, both of Grand Rapids; and a brother, William Hachey of Cohasset.
Mass of Christian burial: 11 a.m. Monday in Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Coleraine. Interment in the Lakeview cemetery, Coleraine. Arrangements by Peterson Funeral Chapel, Coleraine.

Beverly J. Anderson
Beverly J. Anderson, 69, of Cloquet passed away Thursday, May 31, 2001, in St. Luke's Hospital.

Beatrice L. Koschak
Beatrice L. Koschak, 82, of Hibbing died Friday, June 1, 2001.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Koschak; sons Ron (JoAnn), Jim (Barb), Jerry (Judy) and Rick (Kathy)Koschak; a daughter, Bonnie Shevich; a sister, Marian Musech; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Sunday in Dougherty Funeral Home and from 10 until the 11 a.m. service Monday in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Hibbing. Interment in Maple Hill cemetery, Hibbing.

Donald E. Broten Sr.
Donald E. Broten Sr., 66, of Chisholm died Thursday, May 31, 2001, in Fairview University Medical Center-Mesabi in Hibbing.
He was born July 1, 1934, in Minneapolis, son of Edward O. and Helen (Baltzer) Broten. He was a 1952 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis. On Aug. 31, 1953, he married Janet (Tornio) in Fayetteville, N.C.; and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Donald was employed by Borchert Ingersoll in Minneapolis until he was transferred to Hibbing in 1970. Starting in 1980, Don worked overseas with Euclid Co. as a technical consultant. He was twice past master and a life member of Mesaba Lodge 255 AF&AM; worthy patron of Order of The Eastern Star, Mesaba Chapter 211; venerable master of the Hibbing Lodge of Perfection; editor of The Voyageur; a former member of the Range Shrine Marching Patrol; and a life member of Cobb-Williams-Nehiba American Lexicon Post 222 of Hibbing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Phyllis.

Donald is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janet; sons Donald E. Jr. of Marble, David H. (Paula) of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., Dean C. of Bovey, and Dale R. (Candy) of Hibbing; a daughter, Diane L. (Butch) Blight of Gilbert; a sister Joanne Sinderman of Crosby, Texas; grandchildren Tania, Kristina, Dawn, Darlene, Donald III, Joe, Amy, Terri, Douglas, Bryan, Greg, Kjirsten, Dyllon, Ashley and Eric; and six great-grandchildren.
Masonic funeral service: 7 p.m. Monday in Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home, Hibbing. Memorials preferred.

Family services provided by Anderson-Daniels, a Bauman Family Funeral Home in Hibbing.

Charles D. LaPlant
Charles D. LaPlant, 87, of Grand Rapids died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, in the Itasca Medical Center, Grand Rapids.
Charles is survived by sons Thomas and Stephen; sisters Lillian Surface, Doris Erickson and Alice Bishop; brothers Roy, Lawrence, Lloyd, Robert and Roland LaPlant; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Friday in Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids. Service at 11 a.m. Saturday in Salem Lutheran Brethren Church, Grand Rapids. Burial in Itasca Calvary cemetery.

Nancy Marilyn Haglund
Nancy Marilyn Haglund, 56, of Cloquet died Monday, May 7, 2001, in Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 25, 1944, in Cloquet, the daughter of Allen and Florence (Sjogren) Maghan. She was a 1962 graduate of Wrenshall High School and attended Duluth Business University. She worked as a home health aide for the elderly for a number of years and for the past several years worked as a teacher's aide at Churchill School in Cloquet. She attended St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Esko.

Nancy's greatest love was her family, especially her two grandchildren, to whom she would play Santa. She was an avid sports fan, especially of hockey, and attended many local sporting events. She enjoyed camping at Park Lake, golfing, dancing, rock and roll music, and visiting with her coffee friends at Wal-Mart. She also enjoyed sewing and when her daughters were small she made many clothes for herself and her girls, and very recently made each of her grandchildren a quilt.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David Maghan.

Nancy is survived by her daughters Leah (Brent) Pykkonen of Esko and Laura (Lee) Haglund-Howieson of Fargo, N.D., and their father, Robert Haglund of Cloquet; grandchildren Andrew and Jordan Pykkonen; sisters Sheila Rudnicki of Cloquet, Patricia Fornshell of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Sandra (Jerry) Peterson of Prescott, Wis.; brothers Larry (Naomi) Matten of Missoula, Mont., and Randy Matten of Phoenix; an aunt, Violet Brandt of Nopeming; a special friend, Roger Forstrom of Cloquet; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, students and co-workers at Churchill School in Cloquet.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. Visitation continues 10 until the 11 a.m. service Friday in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Esko. Interment will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Maple Grove cemetery, Cloquet. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Robert L. LeeJoice
Robert L. LeeJoice, 82, of Cloquet died Monday, July 9, 2001, at Cloquet Hospital.

Bunny Leona Vicari
Bunny Leona Vicari, 78, of Balkan died Monday, July 9, 2001, in University Medical Center-Mesabi in Hibbing after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.
She was born April 16, 1923, in Chisholm to John and Nellie (Podhanuk) Kostelic. She was a graduate of Chisholm High School and was a lifelong Chisholm/Balkan resident.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Chisholm, Women of the Moose, Chisholm Chapter 876, Balkan Senior Citizens Club and Yugoslav Club 9. Bunny was an avid gardener, a true nature lover and a wonderful wife, mom and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Tony Kostelic; and a sister, Eunice Vicari.

Survivors include her husband, William "Willy"; children Sandy Vicari of Side Lake, Billy and Bob Vicari, both of Balkan; special pets Angel and Pretty Girl; brothers Bob Kostelic of Balkan and Ken (Elaine) Kostelic of Port Edwards, Wis.; a sister, Rachel Kostelic of Duluth; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation: 9:30 until the 10:30 a.m. memorial Mass on Friday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Chisholm. The Rev. Lloyd Mudrak celebrating. Memorials preferred to the Chisholm Community Foundation. Arrangements by Rupp Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chisholm.
