An accomplished oil painter and watercolorist who was known for her floral and landscape paintings, Helen was involved with the Range Artists Association for many years and recently donated a number of her paintings to the church. Indeed, it is through her paintings, plants, sewing projects, gardening, and hand-knitted sweaters that her family retains fond memories of this unpretentious woman who led her life with independence, grace and dignity and demonstrated a passion for lifelong learning, a can-do/make-do attitude, creativity and being of service.

Helen had recently relocated to Friday Harbor to be near two of her daughters, Nancy Lind and Pamela Nichols. She will also be missed by another daughter, Linda Sloan of Richmond, Va.; a son, Arthur Lindholm of Minneapolis; and grandchildren Tonia Lee (Robert), Adam Baker (Heather) and Jessica Baker, all of Richmond; as well as a great-grandson, Caleb. She is also survived by niece Carol Lundstrom and nephew James Lundstrom.
A private memorial service will be held later in Minnesota. Remembrances may be made to the Helena Fund, Range Artists Association, 328 W. Howard, Hibbing, MN 55746.
