She is survived by a sister, Helen Bollego of Eveleth; and nieces Florence (Anthony) Stefanich and Eleanor (Edwin) Askew, both of Eveleth, and Marion (Joseph) Giru of Mountain Iron.
Visitation: 9 until the 10 a.m. service Tuesday in Resurrection Catholic Church, Eveleth. Burial in Eveleth cemetery. Arrangements by Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home.

CHARLES P. ALTOBELLI
Charles P. Altobelli, 78, of Virginia died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, in St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth.
He is survived by a son, Donald Altobelli of Bemidji; and daughters Charlotte Altobelli of Duluth and Nena Altobelli of Ramsey, Minn.
Visitation: 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Virginia. Burial in the veterans' section of Greenwood cemetery, Virginia. Arrangements by Landmark Funeral Home of Virginia.

Thomas P. Manley Jr.
Thomas P. Manley Jr., 49, of Virginia died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, in Arrowhead Health Care Center, Eveleth.
Visitation: noon until the 1 p.m. Mass Wednesday in Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Virginia. Burial in Greenwood cemetery, Virginia, with military honors accorded by the Virginia Color Guard. Arrangements by the Range Funeral Home of Virginia.

Albert Strong
Albert Strong, 84, of Nett Lake died Sunday, Aug. 26, in Leisure Hills of Hibbing.
Visitation begins at 4 p.m. Wednesday with Tribal Rites at 10 a.m. Thursday, all at the Strong residence. Burial in Nett Lake cemetery.

Lela Maxine Hopper
Lela Maxine Hopper, 68, of International Falls died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001.
She is survived by her mother, Ruth Hopper.
Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Green-Larsen Mortuary. Arrangements by Green-Larsen Mortuary Inc. of International Falls.

Theodore John "Ted" Kittelson
Theodore John "Ted" Kittelson, 65, of Dallas, Wis., died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna Jean (Bongiovanni) Kittelson of Dallas; children Theodore Kittelson of Chicago, Keith Kittelson of Rice Lake, Timothy Kittelson of Duluth, Kurt Kittelson of Cameron, Mary Kittelson of Ridgeland and Margaret Kittelson of Dallas; 13 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and other relatives and friends.
Services were held Thursday, Aug. 23, in the Rausch Funeral Home in Dallas, Wis.

William "Bill" L. Anderson
William "Bill" L. Anderson, 79, of Grand Rapids died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, in St. Mary's Medical Center.
He is survived by his daughter, Judy (Paul) Dick; sons Lonnie, Steven (Janet) and Rockney "Rocky" (Diane); 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids. Service at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids. Burial with full military honors in Itasca-Calvary cemetery in Grand Rapids.

Mildred Sande Hedin
Mildred Sande Hedin, 92, of Two Harbors died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, in Lake View Home.
She was born Jan. 8, 1909, to John and Anna (Olson) Sande in Two Harbors, where she was a lifelong resident. She married Edwin E. Hedin June 22, 1929, and he preceded her in death Oct. 12, 1966. She was employed at Lake View Memorial Hospital, was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and its Ladies Guild and a 50-year member of the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed spending many summers with her brother and his wife in Reno, Nev.

In addition to her husband, Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dr. Wilmer Sande; and a sister, Myra Lindgren Ege.

Mildred is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Chet Bianco of Two Harbors; brothers Dr. John (Naomi) Sande of Reno and Dr. Robert Sande of Grand Marais; grandchildren Jody (Gary) Hepala and Janelle (Brad) Jones; great-grandchildren Jeremy Eskola and Macey Jones; a very special nephew, Robert Lindgren of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: noon to the 1 p.m. service Wednesday in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Two Harbors. Burial in Lakeview cemetery in Two Harbors. Arrangements by Cavallin Funeral Home.

James Vocelka
James Vocelka, 71, of Menomonee Falls, Wis., died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, in Menomonee Falls.
Visitation: one hour prior to the noon service Friday in Carroll Funeral Home in Deer River, Minn. Burial in Pine Grove cemetery in Max, Minn.

Dick C. Sherrick
Dick C. Sherrick, 72, of McGregor died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, in his home.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in McGregor Funeral Home and one hour prior to the noon service Thursday in Holy Family Catholic Church in McGregor with Fr. John Fleischacker officiating. Burial in Pine Needle cemetery.

William "Bill" Conrad Lueck
William "Bill" Conrad Lueck, 81, of McGregor died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, in the Riverwood Health Care Center, Aitkin.
He was born Jan. 10, 1920, in Rabbit Lake Township, Crow Wing County to Fred H. and Rose (Schwab) Lueck. He attended Aitkin public schools. He was an Army veteran, having served in the European, African and Middle Eastern theaters during World War II. On April 30, 1948, Bill married Vera Woodrow in Aitkin. Vera died March 23, 1993. Bill married Clarabelle (Rients) Steffen on Oct. 22, 1994, in Lakefield. He worked for 29 years with the former Pioneer and Continental Telephone Co.

Prior to his retirement, he farmed and drove a school bus and had spent his winters in Texas for the past 20 years. He was an original board member for the Villas in McGregor, on the board of directors for the East Lake Co-op, a co-leader for the Pine Haven 4-H, a member of Grange and the United Methodist Church in McGregor and a former member of the McGregor VFW.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vera; sisters Ann Kellerman, Ida Peterson, Hazel Gruenhagen and Ruth Fenstermaker; a brother, Martin Lueck; and his parents.

Bill is survived by his wife Clarabelle; sons and daughters-in-law Bill Jr. (Peg) of Hutchinson and Bob (Roxanne) of Petoskey, Mich.; daughters and sons-in-law Vickie (Dennis) Berg of Carlton, Virgi (Bill) Thompson of Tulsa, Okla.; a foster son, Joel Johnson of Fargo, N.D.; stepdaughters Roxanne (John) Cline of Gainesville, Fla., Barbara (Steve) Klingberg of South St. Paul, Clarice (Ed) Ahner of Lake Elsiner, Calif.; stepsons Allen Steffen and Mark (Kay) Steffen, both of Lakefield; grandchildren Bill III, Angela and Charles Lueck, Kim (Don) Hall; Kate and Kristin Lueck, Michael, Amanda Raymond and Timothy Berg, Constance and Faith Thompson; step grandchildren Daniel (Stacy) Assved, Melissa and Krisa Klingberg, Mathew, Jared, Rebecca, Maria and Tricia Steffen; great- grandchildren Desiree and Donald Hall; brothers and sisters-in-law Connie (Joan) and Fritz (Louise), all of Aitkin; sisters Helen Winslow and Mildred Paulson, both of Aitkin.
Visitation: noon until the 1 p.m. service today in Holy Family Catholic Church in McGregor. The Rev. Roy Vanderwerf will officiate. Burial in Lakeview cemetery, Workman Township, Aitkin County. Arrangements by McGregor Funeral Home, McGregor.

Warner E. Lindfors
Warner E. Lindfors, 89, of Zim died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, in Fairview University Medical Center-Mesabi, Hibbing.
Visitation: 1 until the 2 p.m. service Tuesday in Faith United Lutheran Church, Iron. Burial in Zim cemetery. Arrangements by Range Funeral Home, Virginia.

Emma Mary Washburn
Emma Mary Washburn, 99, of Virginia died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, in the Arrowhead Health Care Center, Virginia.
Visitation: 1 until the 2 p.m. memorial service Tuesday in Trinity Lutheran Church, Virginia. Inurnment in Greenwood cemetery in Virginia.

Ruth E. Nelson
Ruth E. Nelson, 102, of Hill City died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, in Aicota Health Care Center, Aitkin.
Friends may call: 10 until the 11 a.m. service Wednesday in Aitkin United Methodist Church, Aitkin. Arrangements by Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home, Aitkin.

Ernest A. "Ernie" Studinski
Ernest A. "Ernie" Studinski, 77, of Chisholm died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001.
Survivors include his wife, Millie; children Diane (Rick) Oman, Bob, Sharon (fiancee Troy Eykyn and his son Johnathon) Studinski; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six brothers and two sisters.
Visitation: 9 until the 10 a.m. memorial Mass Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Chisholm. Inurnment follows in Chisholm cemetery. Memorials preferred to North Star Hospice. Arrangements by Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Chisholm.

Lorraine J. Meskill
Lorraine J. Meskill, 74, of rural Ely died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, in her home.
She was born Feb. 13, 1927, in Chicago to William and Alma (Schultz) Cordes Sr.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mike in 1994; brothers William Cordes Jr. and Larry Cordes; a sister, Evelyn Lotz; and a grandson, Steven Blocker.

Survivors include sons Mike (Sue) and Larry Meskill, both of Ely; daughters Pat (Al) Wierimaa of Virginia, Lorrie Meskill of Ely and Gwen (Ron) Potter of Ely; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 10 until the 11 a.m. service Monday in Praise Fellowship Center, Ely, Pastors George Wick and Terry Sellers officiating. Burial to follow in Ely cemetery. Arrangements by Kerntz Funeral Home in Ely.

Bernice Czarneski
Bernice Czarneski, 78, of Bemidji, Minn., and a former longtime resident of Floodwood died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, in North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji from a lengthy illness.
Bernice was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Lesniew, Poland, to Alojyz and Marysia (Pasierb) Polakowski. She married Frank Czarneski June 3, 1950, in Tolstoi, Manitoba, Canada. They had a dairy farm and continued farming until 1982. Her husband, Frank, died in 1985. Bernice was active in the community of Floodwood and an active volunteer for 51 years at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Floodwood. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Andrew in 1982 and a sister in Poland, Eugenia Sawicz, in 1967.

Survivors include daughters Mary (Sheldon) Ramnarine of Eagan, Minn., Barbara (Randy) Fitzgerald of Bemidji, Minn.; a son, Joseph (Susan) Czarneski of Floodwood; a sister, Aniela Collins of Dayton, Ky.; grandchildren Franklyn, Kathryn and Ellen Czarneski and Samantha Fitzgerald; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Monday with a rosary service at 7 p.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church, Floodwood where a Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Burial in Forest Hill cemetery in Van Buren Township. Arrangements by the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji; and by Rowe Funeral Home in Floodwood.
