Audrey Arvesen
ARGYLE, Minn. -- Audrey Arvesen, 79, Argyle, died Friday, July 14, 2000, in the Good Samaritan Center, Warren, Minn.
Audrey Winge was born Dec. 10, 1920, in Donaldson, Minn. She graduated from high school in Stephen, Minn., in 1939. She married
Ruben Arvesen on April 8, 1948, in Drayton, N.D. They lived and farmed near Donaldson. They moved to Argyle in 1991.
She is survived by her husband; sisters, Phyllis Dahl, Kennedy, Minn., and Lavonne (Forrest) Nelson, North Branch, Minn.; and a brother, Murvin (Mabel), Donaldson.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth; and a brother-in-law, Willard Dahl.
Services: 10: 30 Tuesday, St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Donaldson.
Visitation: One hour before services in the church.
Burial: Hillcrest cemetery, Donaldson (Hughes, Hallock, Minn.).
Ferdie Moen
ROSEAU, Minn. -- Ferdie Moen, 87, Brooklyn Park, Minn., formerly of Roseau, died Friday, July 14, 2000, at home.
Ferdie Helmer Moen was born July 9, 1913, the son of Henry and Ida (Skatrud) Moen, in Kittson County, Minn. He attended school in Halma, Minn. He took over the family farm. He married
Pearl Johnson in 1944 in Strandquist, Minn. In 1954, they moved to Minneapolis, where he worked for NAPCO Industries in Hopkins, Minn., until his retirement in 1978. They moved to Kittson County and later to Roseau. He farmed and delivered the Grand Forks Herald.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Pat (Jack) Bjerk, Oklahoma City, and Candy (Tom) Carlson, New Brighton, Minn.; seven grandchildren; and sisters, Myrtle Wann, Palo Alto, Calif., and Clarice Yngve, Karlstad, Minn.
He was preceded in death by twin infant siblings; a brother, Harold; and a sister, Vina Hagen.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday, First Lutheran Church, Karlstad.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Collins Funeral Chapel, Karlstad.
Burial: Eidsvold cemetery, Halma (Washburn McReavy Northeast Chapel).
Marie Hinrichs
SHEVLIN, Minn. -- Marie Hinrichs, 81, Shevlin, died Friday, July 14, 2000, at home.
Marie Wilson was born Aug. 12, 1918, the daughter of William and Annie (Moravec) Wilson, in Dudley Township, Clearwater County, Minn., where she attended school. She married
Dick Hinrichs on Dec. 26, 1934. She worked as a waitress for the Mileage Cafe and Ronglins Tavern, Bagley, Minn. She worked for the Hartz Store in Bagley and Gubrud's Store, Shevlin. She farmed, raised chickens and delivered Sunday papers.
She is survived by daughters, Dolores Johnson, Bagley, Elaine (Bill) Brown, Conrad, Mont., Carol Hendricks, Plymouth, Minn., June (Gary) Ward, Solway, Minn., and Sandra (Dale) Malterud, Becida, Minn.; sons, Daryl (Judy), Leslie (Sandy), Wayne (Becky Colebank), all of Shevlin; 27 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lulu (Leonard) Julin, Shevlin; and brothers, Jim, Plentywood, Mont., and Bobby, Bagley.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry; and a sister, Mayme Boe.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Cease Family Funeral Home, Bagley.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and one hour before services both in the funeral home.
Burial: Bagley City cemetery.
Willard Stenerson
BAGLEY, Minn. -- Willard Stenerson, 67, Bagley, died Thursday, July 27, 2000, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Willard Stenerson was born Dec. 18, 1932, the son of Oscar and Gudrun (Hoff) Stenerson, in Grenora, N.D. In 1948, he moved with his family to Sacred Heart, Minn., and in 1949, they moved to Bagley, where he graduated from high school in 1951. He served in the U.S. Navy from August 1951 to August 1955. He married
Beulah Tibbetts on Aug. 26, 1956, in Bagley. In August 1956, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he worked as an aircraft mechanic until retiring on Sept. 2, 1972. They lived in Bagley. He attended Hardware Marketing school for 2 years. He worked at Peterson Hardware.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Vicki Stenerson and Donna (Terry) Liend, both of Bemidji, and Lynda (Kevin) Moe, LaPorte, Minn.; and four grandsons.
He was preceded in death by two granddaughters; his parents; his stepfather; and a sister.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Faith Lutheran Church, Bagley.
Visitation: 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, Cease Family Funeral Home, Bagley, and one hour before services in the church.
Mabel Evermoen
BAGLEY, Minn. -- Mabel Evermoen, 87, Bagley, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, in the Clearwater County Memorial Hospital, Bagley.
Mabel Benson was born March 9, 1913, the daughter of Ed and Olga Benson, in Pine Center, Minn. She moved to Fosston, Minn., where she attended school. She did housework for families. She married
Joe Evermoen in 1932, in Bagley. They cared for several foster children. Joe Evermoen died Sept. 29, 1995.
She is survived by daughters, Lillian (Charles) Newland, Shevlin, Minn., Grace Brock, Altoona, Wis., and Alice (Iver) Gunderson, Bagley; a son, Robert (Clara), Bagley; a foster son, Jack VanNett, Fargo; 18 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Hilda Grantham, East Grand Forks, Gladys Newhouse, Crookston, Florence Severson, Montgomery, Ill., and Ruby Severson, Bartlett, Ill.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce; a grandson; and a brother, Glenn.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Alida (Minn.) Lutheran Church.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Cease Family Funeral Home, Bagley, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Alida cemetery.
Nora Hanson
TRAIL, Minn. -- Nora E. Hanson, 83, Trail, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, in Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
Nora Evangeline Howard was born May 16, 1917, the daughter of Ole and Sophia (Gunderson) Howard, in Highlanding Township, Pennington County, Minn., where she attended school. She graduated from high school in Goodridge, Minn., in 1934. She attended Northwest School of Agriculture, Crookston. She worked in Minneapolis in a bakery and as a bookkeeper for Gully (Minn.) Elevator. She married
Harry Hanson on Oct. 16, 1940, in Hickory Township, Pennington County, where they lived. Harry Hanson died July 6, 1998.
She is survived by a son, Howard (Linda), Trail; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Bennie, Butte, Mont.; and a sister-in-law, Mildred Howard, Thief River Falls.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Oliver, Albert, and Clarence; and sisters-in-law, Myrtle Howard, Stella Howard, and Lydia Howard.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Nazareth Lutheran Church, Trail.
Visitation: 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with a 7: 30 p.m. prayer service, Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Nazareth Lutheran cemetery.
