Margaret Beaulieu
CASS LAKE, Minn. -- Margaret R. Beaulieu, 85, Cass Lake, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at home.
Margaret R. Belland was born March 30, 1915, the daughter of Edward and Susie (Jackson) Belland, in White Earth, Minn. Shegrew up and attended school in Virginia Minn. She married
Clifford Beaulieu on Sept. 12, 1934, in Walker, Minn. They lived in Cass Lake. In 1960, she began working as a dietary supervisor for Indian Health Service, Cass Lake, where she worked for 25 years before retiring. Clifford Beaulieu died Nov. 22, 1990.
She is survived by sons, Richard and Kent (Debbie), both of Cass Lake; daughters, Gloria E. Hanson, Luella (Richard) Brown, Katherine (Jerry) Pemberton and Susie (Thomas) Roy, all of Cass Lake; 22 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sons, Edward and Marvin.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Friday, St. Charles Catholic Church, Cass Lake.
Visitation: After 4: 00 p.m. today, Veterans Memorial Building, Cass Lake.
Burial: Pine Grove cemetery, Cass Lake (Olson-Schwartz, Bemidji).
Kay Aasen
WINGER, Minn. -- Kay Aasen, 62, Winger, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, in First Care Medical Services, Fosston, Minn.
Kay Messelt was born Dec. 29, 1937, the daughter of Nick and Hazel (Krogstad) Messelt, in Erskine, Minn. She attended school in Winger and graduated from high school in McIntosh, Minn., in 1955. She graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, in 1959. She taught English in Aitkin and Detroit Lakes, Minn. She married
Lynn Aasen on July 14, 1962, in Winger, where they lived. She taught in Erskine until 1964. She later worked as a Title I aide in McIntosh and in 1981 began teaching in McIntosh. She retired in 1998.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Peter, Warroad, Minn., and Jon, Winger; a daughter, Jennifer (Keith) Tymchuk, Reedsport, Ore.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Calvary Lutheran Church, Winger.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, in the church and 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, with a 10 a.m. Service of Remembrance, in the Win-E-Mac School gymnasium, Erskine, Minn.,
Burial: Winger cemetery (Mattson, Winger).
Russell Wilberg
ROSEAU, Minn. -- Russell W. Wilberg, 62, Roseau, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, in El Paso, Texas.
Russell William Wilberg was born March 4, 1938, the son of William and Inga (Ranisate) Wilberg, in Clearwater County, Minn. He grew up and attended school in Roseau. He served in the U.S. Army for 21 years. He lived in El Paso for 25 years. He worked as a truck driver since 1977 for Tonka Toys, United Rentals and Whitfield Tank Lines.
He is survived by daughters, Pamela Adams, Patricia Crawley and Hope Fouts, all of Dallas, Maj. Barbara Wheaton, in California, Rose Glass, Okinawa, and Paula Shackett, in Ohio; five grandchildren; and sisters, Elaine (Fred) Roy, Pembina, N.D., Yvonne (Carl), Argyle, Minn., and Shirley (Leslie) Mitterling, Roseau.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services: 8: 30 a.m. today, Sunset Funeral Home, El Paso.
Burial: Fort Bliss National cemetery with full military honors (Helgeson, Roseau).
Robert Helland
WILLIAMS, Minn. -- Robert L. Helland, 74, Williams, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, in Mesa, Ariz.
Robert Leslie Helland was born in Nov. 17 1926, in Gonvick, Minn. He work for the highway department in Apache Junction, Ariz., as a civil engineer.
He is survived by sons, Steven and Samuel; daughters, Donna Julius and Mary Jo Christianson; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marjorie Gustafson.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Bunker's Desert View Chapel, Mesa.

Howard Kiesel
BAUDETTE, Minn. -- Howard W. Kiesel, 71, Baudette, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Fargo, where he had lived since September 2000.
Howard William Kiesel was born Oct. 3, 1929, the son of William and Johanna (Hoeverman) Kiesel, in Bismarck, where he attended school. He worked on the family farms near New Salem, N.D., and Graceton, Minn. He served in the U.S. Army from September 1949 to January 1952. He returned to the Midwest where he worked several jobs in North Dakota and Minnesota. In 1975, following the death of his stepfather, Anton Chrastek, he moved to Baudette to live with his mother.
He is survived by sisters, Jane (Myrwyn) Brown, Rochester, Minn., and Deloris Brown, Hoople, N.D.
Services: 10 a.m. today, Helgeson Funeral Chapel, Baudette.
Visitation: One hour before services in the funeral Home.
Burial: Elm Park cemetery, Baudette.
Military rites: Baudette American Legion V.F.W. Ceremonial Team.
Dorothy Bagne
GONVICK, Minn. -- Dorothy Bagne, 78, Gonvick, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, in the Good Samaritan Center, Clearbrook, Minn.
Dorothy Boatman was born Nov. 17, 1921, the daughter of Carl and Mary (Glock) Boatman, in Hampden, N.D. She married
Francis Bagne on June 4, 1945, in Gonvick. He died March 17, 1997.
She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie (Ed) Green, Davis, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers.
Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Samhold Lutheran Church, Gonvick.
Visitation: One hour before services in the church.
Burial: Samhold Lutheran cemetery, Gonvick (Cease, Bagley, Minn.).
Willard Thysell
HAWLEY, Minn. -- Willard A. Thysell, 79, Hawley, died Oct. 14, 2000, in Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home, Crookston, where he had been a resident since January 1997.
Willard Albert Thysell was born Dec. 2, 1920, the son of Albert and Caroline Thysell, in Hawley, where he graduated from high school. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married
Dorris Alexander on Nov. 23, 1948, in Regina, Sask. He owned a farm implement dealership and hardware store in Hawley, where his sons joined him in business.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Carol Thysell (Mark Opgrand), Wilmington, N.C., and Gloria (Vern) Bancroft, East Grand Forks; sons, Thomas (Christine), Pelican Rapids, Minn., and Paul, Eagle Butte, S.D.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Memorial services: 4 p.m. Friday, Hawley Lutheran Church.
